Colorful, comfortable shoes for my little guy! The wide width is the reason we chose New Balance and the shoes fit great! Tying laces can be a chore, but laced shoes adjust width and fit so much better than Velcro ones. Laces are getting harder to find for toddler/preschool kids. I recommend this shoe to other moms and dads who need a good shoe for wide feet.

Being my first Zappos order I was impressed with how quickly these arrived at out house. My 4 year old loves them, and he's gotten a ton of compliments. We normally don't do shoes that tie for him but these are really easy to tie and a single knot holds well without the laces being too long or too short, I also can tell that tying the shoes gives him more ankle stability than his Velcro shoes.

My 2 1/2yr old son loves these shoes. Great fit for orthotics (remove the thin insert that comes with them). Only annoyance is that they tie, but I double knot them & he doesn't mess with them. Great shoe!

Great, durable shoe for everyday toddler play. The wider width is perfect. The colors are even better in person! East to get on and seem to hide most dirt & stains.

Was looking for some yellowish shoes but not too bright. Then came across this blue and yellow shoes and order them for my 3 year old. I just got them and they are cuter in person. Plus, they are light weight, he has no problem jumping and running with these shoes. Really cute, do recommend them.

I got these for a friend's kid and am now biting my elbows for not getting a pair for my own child. These shoes look amazing, feel amazing and this is all the child wants to wear. Our little friend gets complimented on the shoes every day by total strangers!

These shoes are great! The dark grays and royal blue look sharp and my 4 year old loves them. The quality is great and these should hold up to plenty of play. The last pair of 990's easily lasted through 2 kids! Zappos gets 6 stars! I ordered these after leaving our local New Balance store (who didn't have the color/size we needed) after lunchtime on Thursday. I had them in hand after I picked up my son from school on Friday.

In the past, my son has worn New Balance 990 (plain, all-grey) shoes. Zappos was out of that style, so I ordered these because they were so fun and colorful; I wanted a change from the plain, all-grey shoes. My son wears orthotics (SMOs) on his feet, so he needs WIDE shoes. Unfortunately, these did not work out. Even though I took out the shoe's insert, loosened up all the laces, they were still not wide enough to comfortably get on his foot while wearing the SMOs. So, I think these shoes are awesome (as all New Balance shoes are!), but they just didn't work for us because they were not wide enough to fit over my son's orthotics.

My 2.5 year-old son has wide feet so it's hard to find shoes for him that are stylish but still look good. These are both. We tried a W and XW but the W was plenty for him. The laces could be a bit longer because they are difficult to knot properly but, other than that, they are nice shoes.

Overall a great kids shoe. Great style and looks just like the adult version. The laces are a little chunky and clumsy on such a small shoe so knocked off one star, but they are still functional- hard to get a double knot though.
