The shoe is pretty, but it is not nearly wide enough. The toe box is very narrow and tapers inward much moreso than other New Balance walking shoes.

These are beautiful shoes but they run very narrow. I wear an 8½WW (EE) and have been wearing New Balance walking shoes (sneakers) for years. This was really disappointing.

I had high hopes for these shoes. New Balance has finally caught on that there's a good market for well built leather shoes for casual use rather than active sports. Unfortunately, I wanted shoes with excellent cushioning and support and a much deeper toe box. These don't have either. But they look nice and come with the NB reputation.

The sole of my heel sits too low in the shoe, causing me to duck walk. The inside heel of the shoe needs to be built up. Too bad because it's a nice-looking shoe for its type.

I love New Balance and have ordered this brand many times in the past. When I first received these shoes, I was disappointed that the fit was not the same as other styles. It fit narrower, pinched my toes and it took awhile for the leather to give. It is more comfortable now, but not sure if I would purchase this style again. Support is not as good as in other NB styles either.

These shoes are comfortable but the white laces make them look like sneakers, not shoes. I have many pairs of NB sneakers which I love. I don't need another pair.

Addendum to my previous review: This shoe is just not sized correctly for my foot--it doesn't fit like my other NB shoes. First I tried a 7.5EE, my regular size for New Balance, then I tried an 8 EE--still too narrow, and the arch doesn't hit correctly. Too bad--I love the look of the shoe. Thank goodness for Zappos' easy return policy!

I ordered these shoes in a 7.5 EE, which is what I am accustomed to wearing in a New Balance shoe. I was very disappointed when I could hardly get my foot into these shoes---I'm not even sure if they're too small overall or just too narrow, but I immediately ordered an 8 EE since they don't come in a quad E width. Crossing my fingers that the larger size will do the trick; I love the tan color and would probably order the gray too IF I can get a pair that fits. I did notice that they're made in China. Two of my favorite pairs of NB shoes (one hiking boot, one cross trainer) are made in Vietnam and USA, respectively. I would hate to think that that's what made the difference. Guess I'll find out when the larger ones arrive.

I have problem feet...lots of pain in my back and knees. New Balance just doesn't work for me. I've tried this brand before. But this particular shoe would have worked better had it been sized more accurately. I have a wide foot, so bought the wide width. Much too narrow. Ordered a half size larger hoping for a bit more width, but was the same. I have been trying to find a lace-up shoe that's not so athletic looking in that the tongue comes up to my shin and there are usually 7 eyelets. So this more oxford style is what I wanted, with fewer eyelets and not such a bulky, long tongue. Wish it had worked. Good arch support, fairly good cushioning. But runs much too narrow.

The shoes (11 2A) are correctly sized, and the color and overall materials and construction were good, but the back of the shoe/heel cup is very low; the heels of my socks were pulled into the shoe after two short walks across the room on the carpet. Had to return the shoes; bending over to retrieve the backs of my socks every few feet is not fun.

The WW shoe was too tight. I've worn New Balance shoes for years and am disappointed that this shoe did not have the width of my previous purchases.

So disappointed! I wore the shoe around the house and it was fine. Loved the look of it -- not a chunky no-style walking shoe like so many others. Figured I would keep it and finally went on a two mile city walk only to realize that my toes were so compressed as to have become numb. Way too narrow. Now I hope I can still return them.

Extremely narrow for a double wide shoe. It fits like a medium width. I am very disappointed because I always rely on New Balance to fit comfortably. I can't imagine how narrow the medium width must run if this shoe is considered to be extra wide.

Wore them at home, appeared okay. Took them to Europe. Big mistake! They were stiff, rigid, unyielding and gave me sores on both little toes.

On the same day that I took 10 pair of perfectly good shoes to Clothes Mentor, these arrived. I was blue because a podiatrist told me that unless my Danskos and Merrells had a wide enough toe box I will need surgery on my toes when I am elderly. I ordered the New Balance in EE and they are excellent. The gray leather looks slender and sporty . I might switch to darker laces. I also received the Birkenstock desert boots (5 stars) in the same order, and together they will do the work of my 10 pair. Well, I have some Wide XPro Danskos in my shopping cart for back up!

I had to return these because they were too small. I'm pretty sure the box was mismarked. I wear a 6B and normally have no problem with fit. The box was marked US 6B, but also European size 36 1/2, which is a US 5 1/2, not 6. I've bought a lot of European-sized shoes and I always take a 37.
