I'm normally a solid size 9 or a 40 in Pikolinos. The size 9 in this bootie was very long. I had lots of extra toe room, about 1/2 inch, and my heel slipped. However, the area across the foot where the seam is below the lacing was very tight, and I could feel the lumpiness of the extra leather and stitching, which was uncomfortable. The insole is very cushy, but it is not removable. In the end, I decided this didn't fit my well enough, compared to some other Pikolinos boots. The yellow is not quite as bright as online, and I liked the color and style.

These shoes are incredibly light weight and comfortable! I'm thrilled with how well the leather is aging and how great they look. The soles of the shoes are starting to wear, and I will probably have to get them reheeled, but otherwise they have been a good investment.

I had hoped against hope that I would like these little booties - they're kind of fun and quite comfy. However, I find them about 1/2 size too big. Plus I had wanted gray and these are a kind of green. Back they go. Going to keep trying until I find something I like...

Loved the style, fit too narrow for me. Had to return, sadly.

I really wanted to love this item but it was overall way too small. I normally wear a size 7 or 7.5 so I ordered the 38. I couldn't even get them on. I'm so disappointed. I'm afraid to exchange them for a larger size, I worry that it will be too big.

I originally gave these 5 starts as they're really cute and very comfortable. Unfortunately after wearing approximately 10 times, the wood looking material on the heel is peeling on both shoes.

I wanted to love these shoes. I got them in the Zafiro/Olmo; they were very green and style wasn't quite what I was looking for. Ridiculously comfortable but I decided to return.

I appreciate other people's reviews so now I am submitting one. These shoes do run large as indicated when you go to choose the size when ordering--so trust Zappos about what size to get. I am usually a 42 but a 41 in Pikolinos. Unfortunately, this shoe is very narrow, more than other Pikolinos styles I have tried. Aditionally the shoelaces are quite long and I don't think you could tuck them in to get the same look as in the photo. I am returning them.

The color of these shoes was not as expected, very dark and hardly blue at all, more like grey. I have ordered this color in a different style and it was much lighter and bluer (and prettier) so I guess I just got unlucky. I bought these boots in black two years ago and have loved them. I recently ordered the same in brown (Olmo) but sadly the leather is much stiffer than the black pair and the boots feel too tight and narrow in the same size. The black pair had softer leather form the start. Don't know if it is a function of the color or of newer material. Will be returning.

These "shooties" (shoe/booties) run large. Felt at least 1 size too long. The tops around your ankles are way to big. Had to return as even with the laces pulled as tight as they would go, there were large gaps around the ankle.Very nice quality leather.

This boot is really pretty, and I love the greenish blue color with the brown accents -- very high quality leather inside and out. The stacked heel adds just enough height for this boot to look cute with a skirt as well as pants or skinny jeans. Unfortunately, all of my compliments are for the looks of the shoe. I typically wear a size 40 (9W in most U.S. shoes), and I wear a lot of European shoes because I have a wide foot. Pikolino's shoe sizing lists size 40 as a 9.5 or 10. It is a size 10 feeling to me, for sure, even with my wide foot, this shoe still left me with plenty of room. The heel was far too large, and my foot slipped around in the back, with my foot sliding down toward the toes. It just isn't a comfortable shoe at all. Even if it fit me properly, the heel has a prominent drop off, almost a ridge, where you can feel it -- the sole of the shoe isn't smooth under the foot. I love the beauty of the shoe, but the sizing and comfort are way off. Too bad, I have to return this one. This shoe has padding all around, the sides, the sole, etc, with a leather lining over.

Very disappointed in this shoe. After about an hour walking around inside, incredibly crippling bunion pain set in. I really thought these would work but am having to return them.

Sadly Pikolinos just don't seem to fit my feet. I usually wear a 39 in most brands. I ordered a 39 in this first. It was huge in the heel and seemed to be a bit long so I ordered the 38. The 38 is a little narrow in the toe (the toe tapers in quite a bit) and it is still a little loose in the heel. So just not going to work. The color Zafiro/Olmo is a gorgeous grayish green, would love to have shoes in this color. The leather is nice and supple and the look is cute and different. But I need something that is wider in the toe and much narrower in the heel.

not wide enough

I was so wanting to love these but the fit just wasn't right. I normally wear a size 41 fine in Pikolinos but these were stiff, and also the heel cup seemed short.My foot really slipped up & down alot. I am returning them and continuing the hunt for cute boots!

Though cute as can be, and despite all appearances in the pictures and the video, the soles on these boots are thin and very, very flexible. Like, flip-flop flexible. If you're looking for the kind of support you can only get with a rigid sole, these are not going to work. (In a perfect world, we'd get this boot on a Dansko or Sanita platform.) So bummed.

This was the first pair of Pikolinos I ever purchased, and they came out of the box reeking of a minty smell. This was so bad that both of my cats got up and left the room! I held my breath to try them on. They are insanely comfortable, but the style (which I called "prairie" and my husband called "medieval") just wasn't me, so I sent them back. Are all Pikolinos treated with something to make them smell like menthol, or were these possibly a return from a mint-obsessed customer? I guess I'll never know. I'll give Pikolinos one more shot since they felt so good, but if the next pair has this very pungent odor, they're off my list.
