Great Jeans that really are more comfortable and offer greater freedom of movement. Look good on, too. When I bought these jeans, I was hoping that their free ride waist would offer a better fit for those of us who like to wear our jeans just above our hips and prefer a waist that s shaped to our bodies rather than just straight. If you see how your old leather belt has curved to your body rather than remaining a straight strip of leather, well, these jeans come with a waist already shaped like that. They re great. I also like jeans with a gusseted crotch, because they re simply more comfortable, and these jeans delivered. One thing to note about gusseted crotches is that they are not only more comfortable for when you are moving or actively equating or kneeling down or doing whatever activity you re doing, but they re more comfortable when sitting in an office chair or airplane seat as well. Just more comfortable all around. So don t think of them as a nice to have. Seriously, if you try jeans with this feature, you won t want to go back. I d also recommend Prana s Axiom Jean s because they have this same feature, along with stretch denim. The articulated knees are cool, but frankly, I think they sit a bit low. I bought a 32 inseam and they seemed just about perfect. Maybe half an inch too long. But the articulated knee fell almost below my knee. Still, they work as intended, and are indeed comfortable. Plus, when sitting in a chair, the knee falls exactly on my knee, so all is good. The cell phone pocket is big enough to hold the current iPhone 6. Not sure if it would hold the 6+, but it s big enough to hold the regular 6 or the Samsung Galaxy, which is nice. Was worried it would prove to small and it wasn t. Cool. The other thing I was concerned about was the color. I ordered the Pirate Blue and thought it might end up looking like a weird, over-dyed and strangely hued blue. It didn t. It wasn t a natural dark indigo wash, but for the most part, the Pirate Blue color looked like a dark denim color. Time will tell how the raw denim patinas with age, but for now the color is more than acceptable. Finally, the jeans look nice on. They fit well through the waist and butt, have a touch more room through the thighs without looking baggy, and generally look good. They passed the wife test with flying colors. I highly recommend these jeans, though I wish they did come in a normal denim color and without the high-contrast stitching. Those two thing might turn some people off, so I took a star off for style, but really, they are the only things I could fault on these jeans. Otherwise they are great.

Let me first say that all Kuhl Pants are awesome. But they all fit and feel different. I own several pairs ranging in size 32 to 34 waist. Once you figure out your size, you will never want to wear any other brand!

These are the best denim pants I've come across. I'm 6'3" and 200lbs, with an athletic build, so finding big pants in a lightweight material is sometimes hard - however, Kuhl has done it. I had to order the 38x34 and get them altered because the 36x32 was a bit too tight for my taste. Love these pants. Get em. Now!

Great pants for the hubby. Ran a bit small, as others have said; hubby bought one waist size larger than usual. But he loves them.

The material is high grade and heavy duty! Love the stitching everywhere. Sizing: since I am 6'7" the 36" length is usually best but these are much too long. Overall sizing is large so order down.

Bought these for my husband for Christmas. He's 6'6" and this was the only place I could find a 36" inseam (thanks, zappos!). They're a slimmer cut than his Kuhl Ryder pants, but I'm not complaining. Good looking pants.

Fit was too tight. The description says to order a size down due to being more generous in size but I found it to be the complete opposite. I normally wear the Full cut Kuhl pants (Ryder, Slacker) with a 32 waist and need a belt. The 32 in the Riot Raw Denim was too small, most likely due to being the "Klassic" cut, which is a slimmer fit. Outside of that they are great. Ordering the next size up.

These pants look great and are supremely comfortable. I especially love the rust/gold color. The 2% spandex makes the denim stretch beautifully. One drawback: the inseam is longer than advertised (I had to have my tailor fix that, which added $14 to the cost of the pants).

I like these pants despite a couple of small issues. No. 1: they are more green than brown. No. 2: I think the sizes are the same as the other Kuhl pants; I sized down as recommended, but had to return those to get my regular size. No.3: they are a bit pricey. I think they are as comfortable if not more so than my Levi 501s. I'll probably pick up another pair in a different color at some point.

I have some Kuhl shirts that I liked. I have a good pair of Kuhl jeans that I like. These aren't them. These were not the money they asked for. The quality is cheaper. Two months in and the inside buttons fell off, the material is visibly showing wear and fading.

Otherwise great pants marred by idiotic pocket design. I find it mind-bending that the designers of these pants -- the ones who built in a gusseted crotch and articulated knees -- would then make the front pockets all but unusable. The openings for the pockets are so small and narrow that you'll have a hard time getting your hand into them. And once you do, you'll find the pocket allowance to be exceptionally shallow; the very opposite of deep pockets. They also put pocket rivets exactly where one would normally wear a clipped or tactical pocket knife. The back stash pocket for the smart phone is nice, except that it's low enough for the phone to hit the back side of your knee and uncomfortably rub against that area. It's too bad, because the other features of these pants are pretty cool and they look nice. C'mon, Kuhl: Redesign the idiotic front pants pockets and put the stash pocket higher up and closer to the side of the leg where it belongs.

I ordered Brown and they sent me "brown" but they are way more green with only a hint of brown (mostly in the stitching). Not Zappos fault, as it is clearly labeled brown. C'mon, Kuhl, get your colors right!. Also noted in other reviews on this site.
