Mistakenly ordered one size larger than I usually wear, but this pair rubbed on my two smallest toes like it was actually too small.

This is my second pair the next one's will be my third takes a couple of days of wearing then you won't know you have them on

These are my third pair of Vibrams and I love them more than my 3 previous pair combined. I love them so much that I'm buying 2 or 3 extra pairs as reserve for the future. The style and comfort of this shoes are unmatched at least to me. They look stylish and badass at the same time. My girlfriend told me that I looked like a ninja about to kick the sh&&^% out of some bad guy :) Do yourself a favor and get a pair or two before I grab them all!

Excellent minimalist shoes, great for the gym or running. If you want to see your squats and deadlifts go up, wear these during. If you want to see your calves grow into gnarly cows of power, run in these. They are the perfect minimalist shoe. In the beginning they felt a little tight but after a few uses they broke in. If your normal size is already tight I would suggest going up a size in these, but if you have a little wiggle room in your normal VFF size then go with that size for these as they do stretch out. These are essential gear for any fitness enthusiast.

Five years and three pairs into the FiveFingers brand, this is my favorite model. Had KSO and Seeya's. Happy to skip any closure straps or ties--this is all I need. Size 44 KSOs worked for me, but 44 Seeya's were too tight--I realize now. I got both 44 and 45 EL-Xs and sent back the 44s. The 45 is a better fit. Feels minimal and great!

The Vibram FiveFingers EL-X are very nice looking. I just need time to get used to wearing a FiveFingers shoe. I think they will break in very well. Thank you.

Sizing is always an issue when you buy shoes online. Zappos got my sale since I have used them a handful of times and they have been excellent. However, along with trying a different model Vibram, I also used www.rei.com for sizing on these. (Sorry, Zappos, but your customers need to know). A couple of years ago I had tried on a different model of Vibrams and was a size 42. I took a chance on sizing with these at 42 and it ended up being perfect. A size 42 is comparable to a size 9 men's flip-flop. They should fit snug at first. But after wearing them a handful of times, they loosen up some. Which I am fine with because eventually you can slide your toes in the pockets easier. I have not had any problems with the heel slipping out but I could see why some might. I noticed that when I was walking in them, my heel would bend some of the fabric down And get caught under my heel. When the sun is out, they can start to feel warm. But when they get warm, they get more flexible, too. And the tread has not shown any signs of wear yet after wearing them a handful of times on concrete. I would not recommend buying these if your smaller toes are longer than your big toe due to the shape of the toe pattern.

This is my second pair of Five Fingers as the first finally just gave out after a lot of use. I use these for water sports, pool, ocean, lake, river, washing cars, and just kicking around. They are much better for me than flip flops for traction and comfort. This style is a bit better for me because there is a bit more material on top holding my feet in. I make no claims as to the physical pluses for these but I definitely like the 'stretch' I get at the calves and ankles and if I do need to run I know I can. I would not hesitate to run on trails with these. All in all I think these are great shoes. Sizing can be tricky so do your homework.

I got these for my boyfriend because I love my Vibram Vi-Bs so much, and now he loves his own! This is a fantastic first pair in his Vibram collection that will be sure to grow. Thanks to Zappos, I ordered 42 and 43 for his size 10½ and kept the 43. Woot!

Fits like a glove. Glad I got a half size larger. If your foot size varies from time to time with shoes. I recommend going a half size up.

These shoes fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable, almost like wearing nothing at all. My only difficulty is getting them on my feet. Sometimes they slip right on. But if my toes are uncooperative, several minutes may be required. I suppose this has more to do with my toes than with the shoes.

I am not a runner, but when I drive long distances I prefer to drive without shoes. This is comfortable, but every time you stop and get out of the car, you have to put on shoes or sandals to walk about - which was a minor inconvenience. Recently at a wedding reception, one of the guests was leaving and had put on a pair of these shoes for the drive home! I thought this was a great idea. So although I am a bit leery of buying shoes online, I purchased these. Having never won something like this before, and knowing that they were for running, and stated they should be a fairly tight fit, the ones I received seemed uncomfortably tight. I thought they might require a break-in period, so I wore them around the house for about an hour or so for several days in a row. That did not help. I decided to go to a brick and mortar store and try on several sizes and made sure that I only had to go through one exchange versus several. Although the store did not have the exact same model, I tried on the next larger size (a 43) and it fit fine. Just for grins, I tried on the 42 or the same model, and it too was not as tight as the pair that I originally received. So I exchanged them for the next larger size (43). Zappos was great about doing the exchange, but it is not the easiest thing to find out how it is done. You basically have to contact a service representative and they happily take care of it for you. I recently drove with these shoes for about seven hours in one day and it was fantastic. They are comfortable to drive in. When you stop, you get out of the care without fumbling for shoes or sandals. Just be aware, however, that just because you have shoes on your feet, if you step on rocks, it is like stepping on rocks when you are barefoot. Bottom line: The shoes work great for the purpose they were purchased. The slip-ons made it easy to get in (or out), there were no straps or shoelaces that needed to be fastened, they were comfortable driving, and made it convenient to move around if one stopped along the way. Best of all, the service people were happy, friendly, and non-plussed about returns or exchanges. If you are considering these for athletic endeavors, your mileage may vary. And you may find the type with shoelaces or Velcro straps might provide a better fit.

These Vibram are amazing! They are my first pair of the kind, so I started with this simplest version. It is a very nice option to play outside. I started using it and went out to play with my little son, and looked like I was a child again. It takes some time to get used to finding all the toes' pockets, and that is critical for comfort. Also, cut your nails: it can be uncomfortable to use it that way. The only downside is that it feels a like too warm, although my feet were not sweating. Overall, I highly recommend it!

I've owned a few vibram models, and to me personally this model is the best one ever,it's easy to wear and very light and comfy...but for indoor movements only (gym).

I bought a pair of these things, just because I thought the concept was wild. Had no particular 'use' in mind. Didn't know if my toes would have any objection to having stitched material between them, possibly splaying them out a bit. Toes had no complaint. My plan is to use these around the house occasionally, in small boats/kayaks and mixed surface beaches. Not recommended for social events. These run a tad small as reported by others. I chose the next size-up and they fit fine. My sister took one look at these shoes on my feet and said they were good for birth control.

I purchased these shoes on here and first and foremost, I was amazed at how fast Zappos got my product to me. A+ on the shipping speed. Now, the shoes. I received these shoes and after a full 24 hours of wearing them, I can honestly tell you I never plan to buy different shoes again. Even when these wear out, I will simply purchase another pair. These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn in my life, they are not kidding when they call them barefoot shoes. Some reviewers that I watched on Youtube or read on websites mentioned rubbing in the heel and that you might get blisters, however, I did not really experience anything other than the most minor of irritation and I have no doubt this will no longer be a problem at all after just a few more days to break them in. If you are on the fence about these, get off your butt and buy them. You will not regret it.

This shoe is exactly what I thought it would be. Very happy with the ground feel and general feel of the shoe on my foot. I have seen others complain about the heel or the shoe feeling like it is going to slip but I have had no such sensation. The shoe fits me almost ideally so perhaps that is part of the reason for my good experience. A couple of notes: Sizing-I did use the size chart on Vibram's own site instead of the Zappos one which is a bit different and my size was right on. Use: Vibram is billing this as a sort of cross into five finger shoe which I suppose has to do with the ease of use but as a fair warning these are about as minimal as it gets without actually being barefoot, there is no support and any real cushioning at all to help you so proceed with caution if you are not fully acclimated.

Great shoes. Very comfortable. It's so nice to be able to feel the ground underneath your feet.

I love these shoes! Second set of Vibram shoes in two years. I use them for mixed martial arts fitness training. You can't go wrong with these shoes for in home or gym fitness. One observation the sizing seems to run small, keep that in mind when ordering.

I've had these shoes for 1 day and I'm already deciding on the next pair to order. As a previous reviewer wrote these shoes run small, but once you get them on and wear them for just a few minutes they feel like they conform to your foot. When I first tried them on my feet hurt to where I wanted to send them back; five minutes later pain is gone and they felt really comfortable. Highly recommend the EL-X.

My husband loves loves these shoes! He has been running for 45 years in traditional shoes (Asics) which he uses for street; but he says these five fingers have opened up his running. They are like barefoot but with some bottom protection. He uses them only on grass. He says he runs faster, he feels, and less tired. He highly recommends them.

I got these for my husband to use in our gym we own. He absolutely loves them! The only con I would say is sizing - if you have wide feet, they may be a little sun. I can't wait to get mine!

I wear these shoes in the pool for water aerobics and they work very well. I returned the first pair and ordered a size larger.

After wearing other toe shoes, I have to say that this pair has it nailed! This is a toe shoe of all toe shoes. When I first got them, I felt that they were too small, was going to send them back. I wore them a few days longer and now am used to them. These shoes are so form fitting to your foot and toes it is unreal. The shoe itself is very tight on your foot, I mean SKIN tight! It is almost like wearing nothing at all. I also like the fact that there are no loops or tabs or tongue's on these shoes for my pants to get hung up on. These shoes are really like going barefoot. I can feel muscles in my lower legs getting sore, so that means these shoes are doing their job, going natural barefoot is building muscles not used before in other shoes. I wear them all the time, except at work, they wont let me, otherwise, these are on my feet all day long, only way they come off is at bed time. I also like the fact that with these, no more socks! my feet do not sweat in these either, not one bit! I cannot say much for the wear, or long term that it but they seem to be constructed well, the sole is very durable and your toes are well protected by a thick rubber in front. I love them!
