Comfortable shoe, no break-in required. Walked several miles a day in Peru with no problems and kept feet dry in during a rainstorm. Ended up buying another pair.

I'm a hard sell because of a large size and need for motion control shoes. They are comfortable from the start. Despite some sole bendability, which can potentially stress bunions, the shoe's construction provides excellent arch support and lateral control so my stride doesn't put too much stress on the large toe. These are also a quality improvement over the Brooks Addiction Walkers I usually get, but that look less stylish and wear fairly quickly. I have another Rockport shoe that has lasted about 30 years.

These are a very comfortable shoe. I found them true to size and the waterproof aspect has held up well in New England winters! I will definitely be buying another pair of these when I need another everyday shoe.

First of all, Zappos is the best -- a pleasure to work with! Second, I like the Rockports very much -- truly seem waterproof and are rugged for everyday bad Cleveland weather -- snow, slush -- and are warm. A touch bulky but I like them. Regards.

I felt comfortable order a band new shoe but was a little concerned about the return if the shoe didn't fit and it didn't. Zappos has the fastest turn around policy. In 3 days I sent the shoes back and received a pair that fit perfectly.

I gave these shoes to hubby for Christmas and he hasn't taken them off! He suffered a nervous disorder years ago that left his feet damaged. It's hard to find shoes that are comfortable but still fashionable. He hasn't stopped talking about how good they feel. No breaking in was required. They look good enough for everything but suits.

I have high arches and need comfortable shoes. Rockport with these type of soles are the best I ever buy for all day walking and good style.

I LOVE these shoes. Maybe my favorites ever. Extremely comfortable, and they look very nice. Appropriate as weekend/bad weather shoes as well as business casual. Out of the blue, the young woman who cuts my hair said, oh, nice shoes. Nobody has ever said that to me before. I plan to get the brown ones also.

These are very comfortable but their stand-out feature is that they look really broken-in right out of the box. Which might not be a good thing. Be warned!

It took a long time and m any returns to get myself to these shoe. I'm surprised that Zappos didn't cut me off from returning so many. My goal was a comfortable, plain brown oxford, with a low or no heel. I wanted it big and clunky. No wingtip look-alikes. A partial list of what I tried and rejected: Doc Martens 8053, Clark's Un.Ravel(whatever that is), Dockers Glacier, Ecco Fusion II Tie, Born Karl (I really wanted these to work) and Timberland Squall Canyon. Most were just not comfortable. Some had a bad tongue length. It poked me where the top of my foot turned into the front of my ankle. Anyway, I knew these Rockports were good right when I slipped them on. I wear them and don't think about them. And they look good.

I was not happy with these shoes until I put a set of Dr. Scholls insole inserts in them. Now they are my favorite shoes. They have held up well for almost two years with regular wear. I use a little bit of mink oil on them and it keeps them waterproof and looking good. I have a bunion on my right foot and the shoe has molded to fit it perfectly. Have not found many shoes that will do this. I feel comfortable in these shoes almost anyplace.

Exactly what I hoped for. I took a shot and ordered the same size as my well worn Rockports and these are perfect. They are bit darker than I expected based on the picture, but that's fine. Fit is excellent as is the look.

This is the third pair of these I've had, and I walk a lot at work. They are comfortable, don't get hot in Summertime, and hold up to walking even on a fair bit of hard surfaces and concrete that I deal with.
Zappos does a great job with shoes - I trust no other.

Love these shoes. But, they have a very strong chemical smell. Enough that I have to keep them in my garage. Thought it'd wear off with time, but they're over a year old, and the smell hasn't lessened. So, in the garage they'll remain.

I am a teacher, on my feet all day, 10 months of the year. Very comfortable. Casually proper footwear. I like them enough that I am ordering another pair. However, after one year, the leather upper split over the little toe and the soles are wearing holes in both both ball and heel.

These shoes feel great. They're great for walking and I wear them at my stand-up desk for hours on end with no discomfort. They have a curious matte finish that reminds me of the old-school Dr. Martens "greasy" shoes and boots, which I love. There is only one problem with these shoes, and that is the Adiprene soles STINK. Right out of the box, they smell like the strongest rubber smell you can imagine. Like worse than putting your nose up next to a new tire. I have used a brush and mild soap on the soles and that has been partially successful. If you are sensitive to smells, these may not be the shoes for you. In every other way, they are great shoes. I would have given them five stars but for the smell.

I've used the Rugged Bucks to walk to work for about a month now (about 2 miles total each day), and so far I'm happy with them. They are comfortable and provide solid foot support. The leather feels durable and the laces stay tied. The only minor design issue I've encountered is that the tiny "adiprene" branding labels on the bottom of the shoe became unglued and fell off, but I don't care as they are not important to the structure or function of the shoe.
These shoes are decently styled but discrete, and are perfect for the person who needs footwear that is both office appropriate and usable in wet weather. They've kept my feet dry while walking through puddles. The outsoles and lugs have plenty of grip for trekking uphill on either grass or wet roads.
Overall, my initial impression of this shoe is very favorable.

I bought these to replace an old pair of Rockport Spruce Way, a great show that Rockport inexplicably eliminated. These are not quite as comfortable because the collar is tight around the ankle, but have the most important feature, the Adiprene sole. This sole is much more comfortable and shock-absorbing than Vibram and lasts twice as long. They are durable and comfortable enough to walk to work in (1.5 miles/day) and look good enough to wear in the office. During the long hunt for a shoe like this from Rockport, I discovered the Ecco Fusion, which is more expensive but even more comfortable and stylish.

Feels well made by the toe box is too pointy for a wide shoe as well as being very shallow due to the underlying structure of the shoe.

A nice shoe, but I had to return it because it runs narrow. I even ordered a wide. The shoes were marked as wide but certainly didn't look or feel wide.

Shoe’s upper squeaked when walking. Not the most comfortable shoe. Had to return. Price is reasonable though.

I've owned these shoes for almost a year now. I wore it a lot during the winter in Boston but only when it rained during the summer which wasn't often. I really liked these shoes, the quality of the upper still is in really good condition, any scratches are easy to rub out, they are comfortable and stylish enough to wear at work. However, the soles of these shoes are very soft and wear away quickly. Having not even a full year on them and used as my primary work shoes for less than half a year I am disappointed with the length of time they lasted me. There are holes in the soles right under the ball of my foot and the heels where you strike the ground are rather worn as well. Much more than I would have expected them to be with the amount that I have worn them. In comparison, I had a pair of Doc Martens that lasted 5+ years with the same usage, I also had a pair of Asolo hiking boots that I used to wear very often in the winter that lasted me 7 years, both of these shoes were used in the same manner as the Rockports but lasted much much longer.

I ordered my first pair about 4 years ago. Favorite pair in the world. Tried to order an new pair about 1 years later, what the heck happened? Didn’t fit the same and felt different. Decided to go with Clark’s. Then one day about 2 years later, I gave them a third chance. Finally found a size that fit. They are extremely comfortable when you break them in which doesn’t take long. However you’ll only get to enjoy that for a short while. The soles don’t last long at all. Doesn’t take much time for them to no longer be waterproof. I have a desk job and don’t walk around much i them. For $100 you should have longer than 4-6 months.

I enjoyed wearing these on rainy days. However, the seam at the sole and upper ripped after about 120 wears. I am tempted to get again, despite this sounding like a typical issue with these shoes. Most disappointing was that Rockport punted and said that Zappos needed to give a refund - which it did.
