Very light use and they're already coming apart

I bought theses boots and I loved them, the look the feel everything. I have put very few miles on them, the sole has pretty much no wear and the leather still looks new. The other day I was starting my son's dirt bike just a little crf100 no high compression bike with kick back, I can literally start the bike with my hand and there are no sharp edges on the kick start the bike is almost 20 years old so it is worn down and smooth. Well my foot slipped, remind you I can start this thing with my hand and the kick start went right through my boot like butter. I'm kinda glad that it happen like it did because I would hate to be somewhere in the mountains and a branch go through my boot piercing my foot creating a medical emergency. I wear boot to protect my feet because I am in constant rough terrain with work and my lifestyle. I would expect a leather boot to be a lot more durable than what these have proven to be.
