I wear a size 8.5 in Merrells consistently. I had to order a size 10 in these to be able to wear a heavy sock with it. A 9.5 would have been preferable, but half sizes aren't available. They are very warm with the right sock and seem to keep the snow out, fine. Standing in heavy snow at the dog park in -30 degree wind chills kept my feet pretty toasty. I think I would need to wear yaktrax (ice grippers) if doing a lot of walking on other than deep snow or snow pack.

This boot is very light weight and comfortable. Doesn't look clunky like my old Sorels. I hike in the Pocono mountains and it can get to minus 10 with a foot or more of snow. The only thing, it could be a little higher as the fur cuff at the top is a bit too big to fit under a snow pant. I ordered a 7 1/2 and it fits just right with a nice heavy sock. Totally recommend this boot. (I do have a somewhat narrow foot and calf.)

So warm, comfortable and easy to get on and off. Love these boots! Perfect for the tough Michigan winter we're experiencing. I normally wear a 9 but ordered a 10 based on reviews and they fit perfectly.

Best boots I've ever owned. Not only are they easy to put on and take off, they feet awesome when on. I think the best compliment I can give these snow boots is that I forget I am wearing boots when I am outside stomping around in snow. They were tested in the "polar vortex" in January 2014 and passed with flying colors. Warm, comfortable, and kept my feet dry. Extra bonus, they look great too.

I own several pairs of Baffin for my love of winter hiking socks and how I walk/run I knew to order up a size; when I order my regular size, the interior is too snug for a foot narrow at the heel with B width metatarsal area so I order a size up. Buy Baffin for long lasting beauty in the worst weather doing the sorriest things like changing a tire in the snow on a snowploughed road..or for the long ferry ride in icy sea spray to hard to get to Alaska Isles in winter; or chasing a runaway toddler down a snowy park trail; or for the best winter things: shopping in town outside; hiking about the ski lodges; These beauties look fabulous on! tuck those slacks in, and go in the bitterest cold in the rain in the hail in the snow, your feet will be warm and dry. Two of the best features: no matter what has happened these boots will dry up nicely and all you need do is brush them- look like new every time; next the inner support is better than all competitors. These are superbly crafted. A rich deep mysterious black color.

These boots have a removable insulated liner (think of a ski boot). It adds a lot of warmth and comfort, and would make drying faster. My complaint is that I usually wear an 8.5W or 9M, and this liner makes the boot wear like a narrow shoe. If you wear a wide shoe, this boot is not for you. You have the option to take the liner out and wear it without, but I found that to be very uncomfortable. The elastics give the boot a great, adaptive fit. I like them better than a zipper and they're easier than laces. The challenge is that if you have a wide foot or wide calf, the resulting appearance of the whole tongue is less than attractive. As much as I wanted to love this boot, I would only purchase it if it was sold in wide foot and wide calf.

Good boot for the price. Warm, fit well and was comfortable out in the snow. I wish the elastic "laces" tightened as it could have been snugger around my leg. That might bother me if I wore them more, but we don't get that much snow.

Loved the look of this boot. Although it was a light weight boot I'm sure it would've kept my feet very warm. Unfortunately it ran a little short, snug and had no arch support.

am still debating these boots; the sizing issue comes from the insert. Without the insert this boot is definitely 1 size larger than I normally wear ( I wear an 8 but ordered a 9 based on other reviews). If you choose to wear this boot without the liner, then you have a shoe (boot) that is way too large, hence my conundrum. Debating whether or not I can chop off the insert from the ankle up and use it just as an insert in the foot of the boot; too much stuff around my lower leg with the insert, socks, pants. The insert is removable which leads me to believe one should be able to choose whether or not to use it based on outside temperatures; but as noted above, it then becomes one size too large and my foot is then insecure in the boot. Yikes!

Definitely runs small - this is due to the liner. Very warm. I wear a 7-8, medium width...ordered an 8. Needed a 9. Have to go back.

Extremely disappointed with these boots. They are beautiful boots, but the stiff insert (inner lining) made the boot feel a full size smaller, and it felt like I was trying on ice skates.

I ordered a whole size up and was barely able to get my foot in the boot. The entire footbed is narrow. If you need a wide toe box these are not the boots for you. It seems like its for a child or someone with a very thin foot. It also has a weird insert that you have to fight to get past and the tongue seems twisted and awkward. I'm not sure who designed these or who tested them because on a very small percentage might be able to wear this boot. The boot looks great but what's the point if you cannot wear it.
