These definitely look very gray in person. There's some brown, but it's under a grayish sheen. I also found them too big.

I got these boots in October and they are already falling apart to the point that I can't wear them anymore. The "leather" is worn out in multiple spots, the soles are cracked, and the backs of the heels are worn down and catch under my feet when I'm putting them on. I have worn them 2-3 times per week, but I would not have expected them to wear out so quickly in less than 4 months. On the plus side, they are comfortable and cute, but not worth the price for something that's going to fall apart in less than a year.

These boots were too high for me, coming right behind my knee. I am only 5ft 2", so beware if you are on the short side. Calves were also too wide for me. I guess you get what you pay for but they do seem quite flimsy. Very grey rather than black. Unfortunately, they'll have to be returned. Love Zappos though!

Apart from the fact that this boot looked a little swashbuckle-y on (the top is very loose, so it was wide, like pirate boots), there is a seam across the sole of the shoe that is very uncomfortable. And the zipper jingles with every step.

These boots fit well and had the structure I was looking for but the color doesn't really match what's showed online. In reality they have more of a worn/weathered look which I personally am not a fan of. I will be exchanging them for a smoother leather boot.

Shoddy construction - The style of this boot is adorable, the construction and fabric finish are not. This boot has a distinctive pattern meant to look like leather grain, so the "leather" is actually dark and light grey. Not solid like the picture. The front seam of one of my boots was solid dark grey with no grain effect which made it look like a dark stripe went down the front. The other boot didn't have this so they looked mismatched. The grain also just looked too artificial. Both boots had a significant amount of visible opaque glue at the sole - like someone just let the glue gun run off and left the drips everywhere on the sole where the leather meets the rubber. I realize they were a bargain, but that's no excuse for sloppy construction. The style did not make up for any of the flaws. I returned immediately.

I am so disappointed! I opened the box and loved them. I tried on the left boot, it was perfect! The right fit, color and height of boot. I tried on the right boot however and there is a mound or lump, if you will inside the boot, where the ball of the foot goes. A defect, I guess. Obviously I cannot wear them. So back they go.

I was so excited to receive these boots and when they finally arrived I got extremely disappointed! First of all, they look a bit cheap. I could live with that because the style is nice. Second, the zipper is placed in the back and I had first a hard time getting my foot into the boot. It could be because I have high arches, but other boots does not give me the same issue. When I finally got my foot in (it hurt, because the zipper ends a bit above the heel of the shoe and when putting in my foot my heel scraped on the zipper). I couldn't zip it up. Just because the zipper is so hard, a cheap kind of zipper! The boot had plenty of room for calves and (when the foot finally got in) inside the shoe... Sorry, these are going back immediately.
