The top of my left foot was bruised by the upper arch of what would be the tongue on this A-630 Alpro about a month ago. I'm still having to wear soft shoes with loose laces to avoid aggravating that part of my foot. They were fine when using them to walk around the house, but when I took them for a walk on outdoors trails, the combination of extra volume in the shoe and a hard ridge on the tongue part where it curves up must have done the bruising. I normally wear a 37 in Birkenstocks but had to reorder a 36 in the A-630 Alpro, which might still have been to roomy even with thick socks, but there were no smaller sizes. I read in other reviews that some users had to reorder two sizes smaller due to the extra volume in the shoe.

This was one of the most uncomfortable sneakers I have ever worn. I have owned a pair of Birkenstock sandals and they were the most comfortable things I wore for three years. I had to return the first pair I got because they were too big. I got a second pair a size smaller than my normal size and they did fit, just not very comfortably. These caused me a great deal of pain. I could not wear them for more than four hours, even after trying to break them in for a few weeks. Out of the box I could barely wear them.
