Finally! An ankle boot that doesn't look like a galosh on me! I am so thrilled with La Canadienne right now. I have been searching, fruitlessly, for a boot for size-11 feet that doesn't gape at the ankle of thinner legs. If you are on the same quest, look on further: these shoes are PERFECT. It's a bummer they're a bit pricey, but after how many shoes I've tried on that didn't work, it's worth it. Here's hoping they last for years and years.

I bought these boots because I was looking for a classic Chelsea boot with a slightly higher boot shaft and a boot that would fit on my thin ankles and legs! These really fit the bill - they have a classic look, and even in my size 9½ the boot shaft looks nice on my thin legs. I did not have quite as much trouble getting these on and off as the other reviewers seem to. Plus the waterproofing on these sealed the deal! I will say they are very warm and have some kind of fuzzy lining - so if you do not like having warm feet do not buy these. But otherwise they are great! They are very sleek looking and flattering on the leg and feet.

As other reviewers have noted, this boot looks and feels great --- but the quality has declined. It's not the same as LaCanadienne boots from previous years. These felt like the kind of quality you might find at Target or H&M - good for a season, but not durable. They felt (and looked close up) like $50 boots. I compared these boots to my other LaCanadienne boots from previous years - the leather and the lining of these new ones are much flimsier. Even though they fit and looked great, I sent them back since I could see that they would be unlikely to last well (and the lining didn't feel as good as the lining of older LaCanadienne boots).

I have to admit that I disregarded other reviews about the difficulty of removing these boots, thinking the people must be a little crazy. Well, I'm here to say they are not. These boots are very difficult to get off and on (especially off). I usually prefer pull-ons to ones with zippers (I don't like the way zippers look), but not in this case. As much as I loved the way they look and feel once on, I had to return them. Do not want to get into a wrestling match with my feet every time I get home. Too bad.

These are fabulous until you try to remove them from your feet! I found that to be close to impossible. But they look and feel great while on your feet!

These are the PERFECT chelsea boots. Some chelseas can be a bit clunky, but these are sleek and can be dressed up or down depending on your preference. Great quality and perfect for all types of weather. I wear mine almost every day! Generally wear a size 5 but I ordered these in a size 6. They were a bit big but I added an insert, making them even more comfortable and a better fit. My foot is quite narrow so no problems getting these off. Love love love.

These ripped out at the sole-to-upper seam on my pair, after about a year maybe less. Too long for the warranty. Super comfy and stylish, but not as long lasting as I would like for the price.

These were much too large for me, but they were the only size available during my search for black Chelsea boots. I think they were cute and would probably work, but they were the most expensive pair that I ordered and the ones from Aquatalia (Belle) were just as nice and in my size.

Unfortunately this boot did not work for me. My heel tended to slip. Most disconcerting was, as others mentioned, this boot is difficult to put on and take off.

I agree with the other reviewer - terrific boots but practically impossible to put on or take off - a nightmare in an airport security line. I'm sorry I have to return them. Too bad they don't have zippers.

These fit and looked great, but I decided to purchase the exact same boot except with a lug sole.

I own other La Canadienne products, which fit my narrow foot and high arch and are comfortable for heavy walking. These boots fit that description as well. They fit perfectly. The only reason I'm returning them is that I found a different La Canadienne boot from another seller that is exactly this boot except with a lug sole. Since I wanted that extra traction for winter walking, I went with the other boot. These are super comfortable and well made.

This pair of boots is my absolute most favorite pairs of any type of shoe ever! I have had them for over a year and they are still perfect. I make myself wear other pairs of shoes because I would wear these boots everyday with everything. I have never had trouble pulling them on or off— having read reviews before my purchase, I’ve paid attention to this supposed flaw. It’s not there. I have them polished while waiting at airports (because I am wearing them as my favorite fall/winter travel shoe) and the shoe shine person always compliments me on my favorite boots. These boots are worth every cent!

I love these shoes!! I read all the reviews before purchasing these boots and i agree, they are a little difficult to take off, but it's not enough to not make me love them. They are perfect for those with thin ankles, the opening is not gaping, they fit just right. I did go up half a size and i'm so glad i did, they fit just right, and because of the snug fit, they are tougher to get on and off. Only have thad them for a day and went shopping and they were so comfortable and didn't need any breaking in. they'll be my go to boots for winter!

I vary in shoe size from 7 to 8. I purchased a size 8 bc my other La Canadienne boots are size 8, but those are really snow boots. I think for these, my size would be 7 3/4, but since that doesn't exist :), I chose to size up rather than down. So this size 8 has some room in the toe box, but the heel is comfy. I tried them on with socks and tights; with socks, it's a fit like a sneaker. Tights, were a little roomier. I think these are comfy and very stylish. I would rather have a little room in the toe box and add an insert than have tight shoes. Considering how expensive these are, you want to wear them!!!!

I love these boots! Super comfortable, warm and stylish, they're a favorite in my closet now. I have thin ankles, and these are perfect - for once I don't look like I'm swimming in my shoes! Many reviewers recommended going a size up, but for me they were very true to size (and you can find equivalent euro sizes on the la canadienne website).

Fabulous Chelsea boot. Exactly what I was looking for- and I tried several brands. This is by far the best. They are simple yet elegant looking with the perfect shaft height. I have average/muscular lower legs and ankles plus I'm 9 months pregnant and I had no problem at all getting these on and off (not so with other brands). They slip on and off with ease and are comfortable right out of the box. I own a pair of La Canadienne riding boots which I love and have held up beautifully in MI winters and I'm certain these will be the same. I ordered half size up and fit perfect.

I love these boots. They are incredibly comfortable and cozy, and perfect for everyday wear. As a few other reviewers mentioned, the snug fit around the ankle does make it a light task to remove them; however, the snug fit is awesome, and the little elbow grease it requires to remove them is negligible. As you'd expect from the price, the shoes are well-made of quality materials, and are a long-lasting (if not lifetime!) pair. I'll be sure to return to La Canadienne for other quality splurges.

My holy grail pair of Chelsea boots. Sadly not good longevity. I bought the 6M boot back in Jan 2016 and wore it constantly -- through snow, mud, rain and shine, and they held up well... until the second winter (2017). The city's salted roads killed the leather plus I didn't condition and clean the leather as I should have (a shoe repair man chided me). The pair gave out on me after just a year or two, which didn't justify the price at all. They got holes where the toe bends -- I brought it to one shoe repair guy, who did a horrible job of patching it up, then another local guy to fix the other guy's mistake for $90. He only succeeded in narrowing the front, to the point that I can't wear them without pain / having severely pinched toes. It's a beautiful boot -- just take care of it.

These are nice boots, but they are definitely designed for outdoor wear and they feel a bit heavy. I was looking for a lighter weight boot, so returned these. They were very comfortable, though.

I'd been searching for the perfect pair of Chelsea boots for the longest time and I finally found them! Great classic, clean style, solid quality, and good for the winter/wetter weather. I had no significant trouble putting these boots on, but my feet are pretty small and narrow. Overall I'm happy with this purchase!

These shoes have a more narrow toe box than other La Canadienne shoes such as the the Sharon shoe or the Solana shoe. My pinky toe was very squished in these shoes. I did not have a problem with on and off as other reviews have. I have narrow feet and am fairly thin.

Absolutely love these boots. They are stylish, comfortable, and I haven't had any issue with taking them on/off. The big issue, and why I am giving them 1 star, is that the heel is completely worn down after having them for 3 month. The shoes are under warranty, but the heel is not covered. If I had wanted a pair of boots that would have a worn-down heel after three months, then I would have spent significantly less money on them. Not worth it.

These are really disappointing. LaC always has the most comfortable shoes. I agree with the other reviewers that getting them on and off is a trial. When they are on, they are not comfortable at all. A miss in their line of usually amazing shoes.
