It was difficult to determine the fit on these boots because I could hardly get my leg in the boot. Between the material on the back and the short zipper, it was almost impossible to get my leg in with jeans on. You can really only wear these with tights or leggings. Therefore for me, they aren't versatile enough, which is why they're being returned.

Although this boot is not all leather & I would have preferred that, the fit was fabulous---I ordered it in a wide and my bunion thanked me! I wish it had come in a richer color like cognac because the brown just looked flat. It does look like a riding boot which I wanted but I ultimately returned because of the color & not fully leather.

These really dug in and hurt in the ankle and Achilles area. Gave me blisters and it doesn't feel like the stiff leather in that area is likely to naturally soften. For the price I would expect better comfort.

As much as I wanted to love this boot, it didn't fit my calf. I can fit *most* regular calf-width boots. I even adjusted the strap at the top as far as I could, but it didn't make any difference. This boot was too tight around my calf. Going back.

Too wide in the calf but I have skinny legs. Not super comfortable or stylish, IMO. Felt fairly true to size

Seemed comfortable ONCE I could get into it. Very difficult to put on and not good if its going over jean bc of the very small ankle zipper

Nice looking boot, but the shaft is shorter than I would have liked and it hit my calf at an unflattering height, so I'm returning. The fit was true to size for me.

These are very stiff in the toe box. There is a seam on the top inside that is very uncomfortable. I was so disappointed as they are pretty and otherwise felt great on my narrow foot....until I got my tooties all the way in. Zipper should have gone all the way to the top instead of partial. Made it hard to take the boots off. Sad. No one makes boots for narrow feet and narrow calves.

I was sad that these boots weren't right for me, so had be returned. The leather felt stiff and hard and hurt my heel, even though the boots were loose enough to slip up and down on my heels. I didn't find them nearly as cute as I thought I would from the video and reviews.

Finally I found boots that actually fit my skinny calves without a huge gap! Nice black boots without too much decoration and it they're waterproof! Would have kept them but unfortunately, they were a little too tight for comfort around my feet.

These made my admittedly not very small feet (size 9) look bigger, which is a no-no for me. My husband was bummed I did not like them, though.

I had a really hard time getting these boots on and off without a full side zipper. I had to have assistance from another person to pull them off. It only unzipped little above the ankle. I suspect these would not hold up and balled up fuzz on outside due to sweater like fabric on back.

Very comfortable - perfect for those with small/narrow calves. My feet tend to slip out of traditional riding boots due to the extra room. Your ankle will definitely stay put in this boot. One thing to point out...the fabric on my left boot has begun to fray (pretty badly, actually) because it catches the zipper pull on the right boot. I guess my calves rub together when I walk? I don't know. Not sure how to fix it without completely unraveling the fabric. It's not terribly noticeable, but it's annoying considering how expensive the boots were.

I bought the brown ones and thought in person they looked really cheap with the fabric part. It's the type of fabric that looks like it would pill immediately. I returned these. Perhaps the black look ok, brown did not. I left the fit information at the default, I didn't even try these on.

Be aware that these boots don't zip all the way up. There is only a short zipper between the ankle and halfway up the calf. Just getting the paper stuffed in the toe for shipping was a trick. It was difficult to get my foot down in because the sweater material is rather clingy to the jeans I was wearing. And getting it off was also a trick. No way can I go through that in a hurry to get to work.

I purchased these along with a pair of Born boots and that was a mistake. Compared to the Borns these boots are cheap looking. The color is similar to mud without any variation and the foot bed was wide across the arch/ankle. I did like the back stretchy material. It was thick and a rich brown color, the only part of the boot which seemed of a high quality in my opinion. The stretch was wonderful which made the calf fit beautiful -Over all quality was too poor for me to keep. Returned.

I loved the look of these boots but they were very small through the mid foot and too small in my normal size. So disappointed. They’re going back.

Didn't really like the look with fabric on the back and it hurt my daughter's ankles.

I ordered these because I have slim calves but wider feet. According to all the reviews, the size of the calf was supposed to be small...but they were HUGE. So disappointed!!! I really liked the boots and the overall fit of the foot part and the look of the boots (high quality), but the calves were just way too big. I don't understand, because I don't have super small calves (12.5") and the other reviews made it sound like they would fit. I'm wondering if the wide size also indicates that the calf size will be bigger too??? :-(

I'd read some really good reviews of this boot in a few blogs so I gave them a try. They definitely fit my 15.5" calves with lots of stretchy room for pants. The zipper made putting my legs in with pants a little bit of a chore. The zipper is a half zipper at the bottom of the boot so you have to dig around in there to move your pants/legging around so you can't seem them bunching around the ankle area. The ample accommodation for wide calves comes from the stretchy, sweater-like, material around the back of the boot. Because it's not leather, I could really see where my pants were all squished around my ankles. I'm a teacher and I stand all day, so I'm not sure the soles would be forgiving after the 7th hour standing, and my left heel was slipping in them when I walked around so I'm sure a blister would've been imminent. So glad for the easy return process from Zappos so I'll keep looking for the perfect boot!

I loved the look and style of these boots. But I was so disappointed when they arrived. First, they are a full size too small. I am a true size 5 and I order all my boots in size 6 so that I can add a pad and wear thick socks - but the size 6 was already too small. Plus the shoe was very stiff in the foot portion; I can image it being able to move with you as you walk. I am so sad, because I truly loved the images.

According to other reviews, I was expecting this boot to somewhat fit. I have 12-13 inch calves and size 9.5 - 10 foot. This boot was small in size as well as width and the calf was enormous! I measured it and it was 18 inches. My calf was swimming. Not a boot for anyone with larger foot and smaller calves. Style was nice but that was about it.

Really wanted to like these but sadly, I don't. Leather is cheap looking - looks man-made and bulbous toe box looks clunky. I would prefer a zipper to the top of the shaft, not just at the ankle.

Overall size was fine. But they sent me a pair for f boots that was obviously worn by someone else.
