I have never ever before in all my 58 years written a review on a product that I purchased. But I am so impressed by these shoes that I had to write about how wonderful these shoes are for me. I have a bad knee as a result of a fall and will soon have surgery for ACL repair. These shoes are just the thing for painful joints and painful feet. These shoes provide stability and less pain while standing and walking. I wear a size 6B and purchased these running shoes in a 6½B to wear with socks and stand and walk for hours. These shoes are perfect for my narrow heels and wider foot balls and high arches. They are light and soft and ever so comfortable. They need no break in time. I wish that I could have a pair in every color and style made by Hoka. I just may have to purchase more. They are worth every penny. I absolutely love these tennis shoes and I absolutely love Zappos!

I have somewhat narrow shoes, and for me these were wide around the ankle and the mid foot. I sized down half a size and tried again, but there was too much play in the mid foot for me. I ended up with the Hoka one one Stinson, they were not quite as wide. Despite the overall wideness of the fit, the toe box is very normal. Not a lot of room for spreading out the toes. Finally, I have large feet and these shoes in green were about as ugly as you could ever imagine. They just look ginormous. I'm all for giving up the ego, so that wouldn't have stopped me had the fit been right, but it is worth a mention.

Try the Stinson's first. I tried on a friend's women's 10.5 Stinson Hoka One Ones at work one day and decided that I wanted to try Hokas. I think I should have ordered the Stinsons instead of these, but even those might have been too small and I didn't want to take the chance of running outside in them after talking to customer service. I just wasn't convinced that these Kailua trail shoes actually had the cushioning as advertised and the uppers felt a little cheap, even if they had been the right size for me. I think these are really the paired down Hokas for people who want a little less weight.

Fantastic is the word. This particular style (Kailua Trail) being my fav for running. I own 3 Hoka's and absolutely love them. I enjoy running and I used to hate it! I would only like one thing - they should make them in wide width. Not that I am having any issues. I used a width widener I purchased from amazon which worked beautifully to expand the width. Love them.

Ultimate comfort! It's like walking on sponges. I have never worn shoes with such great cushioning. I don't wear them for running but if you are a runner these will definitely absorb a lot of shock which should help protect your knees and hips.

I am 58 years old and teach aerobics. The boot camp class, along with years of running and tennis have taken a heavy toll on my knees. I was thrilled when a fitness fan half my age showed me her Hoka's! The amount of support and cushioning is amazing! I truly feel that these shoes are helping to prolong the life of my knees! Don't wait until there is a problem with your feet or knees. I strongly suggest Hoka's for all!

I purchased this blue pair and the green Hoka One One Kailua Trail shoe. Strangely enough, the blue needed to be a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear but the green did not. However, I LOVE these shoes. The blue pair have the easy tie/adjust system that is great. The green does not. Sending the 8s back and exchanging for the 7.5 was a smooth easy transaction and customer service was super professional and considerate. I will definitely buy from Zappos again!

I absolutely love these! My old sneakers were discontinued and it took me months and many pair of sneakers before I totally fell in love with these sneakers. It feels like you are running on clouds, seriously! I wear the Hoka One One Kailua Trail on both roads and trails. A pair for each!

I have really enjoyed these over other Hokas. I have a flat arch and the other shoes have dug into my arch making them uncomfortable. Lower profile than the Stinsons, but still good cushioning. So far my favorite Hokas.

I bought the Kailua Trail and I love the shoes, they are very light and supportive. I normally wear size 6 and this are perfect on size 6. I had previously ordered the Mafate3, but I had to return those because they were like a whole size bigger and I did not have any other option. But this Kailua Trail are perfect for me and I will be ordering another pair in another color if I can find them. I also like the Mafate3 I would buy them if they were a size smaller.

I love love LOVE this shoe! This is my first time in Hokas. When I took them out of the box I thought they would be huge. Not the case! They may be a half size bigger, but I've been wearing thick socks with them. Have been wearing them for trail running in the snow and on the roads. Super comfortable, great cushioning! I can understand why runners use these for ultras. You never want to stop running!

I love my Hokas! They are a very light trail shoe! The only problem I have is sometimes the tongue on my right foot moves and rubs but they have really helped my foot issues!

I love this shoe. I have a lot of feet problems and just had surgery on both feet in the past year. This is a super thick sole which easily protects your feet. I usually wear a size 6 in shoes and in running shoes I buy a 6.5 or 7 in other brands. In this shoe the 6 fit. So I think they run a little larger than other running shoes. Love the shoe! I want another pair.

I am 4O year runner, and a guy...I was frustrated waiting for the men's version of this shoe to come to America, so I took a chance and ordered a size 11 (usually a men's 9 1/2)...worked beautifully...as with the other Hokas, cushioning is superb, nice arch support, but lighter feeling than my other Hoka's...highly recommend this show to other male and female runners....Hoka's are game changers!

This is my first review. Ever. Also, my first pair of Hoka One One. I've been running for 21 years, and I'm no lightweight. Needless to say, my feet and knees have paid the price. I purchased the Kailua Trail, as I spend a lot of time on trails and ice. I was impressed on my first run, also my second run, and today as I trotted along for my third time in these shoes, I realized I seemed to have brand new legs. Not just my feet, my whole leg. I've never had this great of an experience with shoes; of any kind. I'd like to replace every pair in my closet with Hoka One One. Love these shoes!

This is my third pair of Hokas but my first trail shoe from them. I LOVE these even better than the Bondi B2s. They are very lightweight but give much better traction. They are trail shoes, but they are great for everyday road racing as well. In a race you don't have to worry about slipping at the wet water stations. I developed painful neuromas in my feet after running marathons, and these are the ONLY shoes that enabled me to start running again. No more knee pain either! Hokas are apparently catching on, as I saw lots of runners wearing them at the Nike Women's Marathon in SF. I hope they start making more color choices. They provide good arch support and it is like running on pillows! You really feel like you can run all day and with much faster recovery. I highly recommend these shoes if you have any kind of foot pain. There is room enough in them if you need to add an orthotic insole for even more padding or comfort. Great shoe!

I met an MD at a senior track meet recently and he strongly recommended these Hoka's. I trusted him and ordered them. I absolutely love them. I wear them whenever working out or running. They have a great heel cushion, arch support, don't slide on my heel. A bonus is I love the look. Thank you Zappos for carrying these great shoes. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfectly.

I received my Hoka One One Kailua Trail shoes, and they are the most comfortable running shoe I have ever tried. I ran for a short distance, and the knee aches and pains I was having are gone. Great shoe to protect joints and nice and light weight too. The other reviews on this shoe stating it is amazing are true. Worth every penny to preserve the joints when running.

I started out running in the unisex Mafate 2 trail shoe by Hoka. It completely transformed my running. Comfort, support and cushion for technical, long miles. I was excited to try the Kailua and I have not been disappointed. A little more narrow then I expected, but I've acclimated just fine. I go from road to trail in these without issues and they have been super on mud, gravel, scree and dirt trails all over the Seattle and Cascade mountain area. The cushion offers must faster recovery than standard running and trail shoes. I highly recommend for the serious trail runner.

My husband is an ultra-runner and swore up and down that these would help my back troubles. I am NOT an ultra marathoner, in fact, I am not a large distance runner (think 3-5 miles per day, maybe). However, even with this smaller distance, my sacrum was keeping me up nights, so I gave these shoes a try. First, size smaller than normal. About 1/2 a size down. Second, these DO help with back pain. Third, do NOT run technical mountain trails with lots of rocks in these shoes. The soles are inexplicably "sticky" and catch on bigger rocks and roots. Especially rocks. On more flat trail runs, however, these work fine. And on a treadmill they are fine as well. Not the best shoe I've ever run in, but I'm not returning them either. Also, toe box is a little narrow but I think it will stretch as the shoes break in.

I only ordered a half size up and wished I ordered a full size up like I normally do, but I followed the advice of another reviewer. These shoes are no bigger on the inside than your current brand, so do what you usually do, IMO. The elastic laces took some time to get used to-felt constrictive across top of foot. It adjusted though. Overall I'm happy with them-worse Saucony for ages.

I will consider buying another pair of Hoka One Ones however I will have to try a size smaller than what I normally wear. The shoe was big all around. Love to run in them though! Excellent cushioning. Definitely for the maximal runner. :)

These are great shoes. They fun and light (for Hoka) the Kailua eats up the trails. They are definitely not as fun on the downhills as the Stinson, but their aggressiveness is a fair trade. I have yet to use these shoes on long runs. I will probably keep them for everyday trail running. I wish they came with speed laces.
