I love heels, but not the pain they inflict. Whether it's toe pinching, rubbing blisters on my heels, friction building on the balls of my feet, or knee pain due to a lack of padding, it is a tall order to find a heel that avoids all this. I like to think of myself as someone with an eye for style, but pain-free heels tend to be orthopedic looking. Not the Tsubo Caia. This update on the Mary Jane looks minimalist and fresh. The thick strap across the top Velcros securely but lightly, ensuring it's only as tight as it needs to be. The padding on the bottom is soft and pillowy. Zero knee pain! I also love the charcoal color. Not quite brown, not quite grey, it's a neutral that goes with everything. If you're looking for a high heel you can practically sprint in, this is it. Thanks to Zappos for their superb customer service. I found this shoe by comparing it to ten others. Their out-of-this-world shipping/return policy made this possible. Who else does that?

These are the most comfortable pumps I've ever worn!! Great cushioning and support. I love the edgy styling. They go great with my casual and office dresses and skirts. They're so comfortable I look for outfits that go with them every time I open my closet :-)

This shoes are very comfortable. Walked 4 blocks to a concert and my feet didn't complain at all. You don't really feel that it's 4 inches because of the chunky heels. As always, Zappos is so great with fast shipping.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn at this height, barely made it through one wearing without scuffing the heel...boo...but made it all day without toe or foot cramps so I'll just have to be more careful.

Very happy. These are great staples to add to your wardrobe that are fashionable but comfortable. If you like Tsubo, you won't be disappointed. My only sticking point is that they are slightly higher than other Tsubo heels that I own. Considering the amount of walking I do at work, I do tend to kick them off when I'm at my desk to give a little breather. Otherwise, they are fabulous.

These are the best high-heeled Mary Janes. Ever. Not only is my right foot almost a half-size larger than my right, it has a bunion that makes finding shoes, much less fashionable heels, next to impossible to find. But, find these I did, and wear them I can! The toe box is extremely roomy; even my right foot has no problem walking around all day in it. The strap across the bridge of your foot is very wide and adjustable, using Velcro (very secure, and when looking at them, you can't tell that Velcro is used). The soles have shock absorbers under your heels and the balls of your feet, so you feel springy and energetic while walking. Plus, the cushiony portions are made from a soft material that grips (like nubuck leather) so you're not sliding around inside the shoe, even though they're high heels. If your feet swell during the day though, and/or you aren't used to wearing high heels for long periods of time, you might yourself needing to slip them off for a few minutes to do some 'point-and-flexes' and ankle rolls. But, that's how it is with all heels; this pair can just be worn for much longer periods of time than your average heels/pumps. Last, as you can see from the picture, they're super-cute, and not at all 'orthopedic-looking.' Don't waste another second reading these reviews; order them now! :)

A nearly perfect shoe! I love the style, fit and comfort of the shoe. The heel is a wee bit high given the inner platform height but still overall is a comfy shoe. Very well-made. Also LOVE the ease of the closure too many shoes are nearly impossible to fasten these days!

These are the most comfortable 4" heels possible. They are still a bit high for me, but there is a ton of cushioning for the ball of the foot, and the adjustable strap assures a good fit. I bought them in black and charcoal.

This shoe is great and the strap is adjustable since there is velcro so it's very snug and comfortable and on top of that it is very stylish. Definitely recommend.

Comfortable heel. This was my first experience with this brand. It's difficult to find a comfortable 4 inch heel, but this will do. The toe box does not pinch and the strap is adjustable. Once it is on, you cannot tell it is a Velcro strap. The overall shape of the shoe is slightly retro and 1940s-ish, with a co temporarily edgy design asymmetry: the straps are wider at the outer foot and narrower as it crosses the instep. The Caia has good stability. The heel is substantial and the sole has rubber grips. While it's a 4 inch heel, it doesn't feel quite so high. It actually has a concealed platform under the toe box, decreasing the angle of your foot and decreasing pressure on the forefoot. You can only tell there is a platform structure if you are pushing around on the shoe with your fingers. While it is a substantial shoe, it does not look too heavy or clunky when it's on. Elegant, classy, sexy, and a PRACTICAL heel? Such a rare find! If you want a similar shoe with a slightly lower heel, try the Born Nadine.

This shoe is wonderful! Very sexy look but also very comfortable. The leather is so soft and supple. The footbed is very comfortable. I have wide feet and these fit and didn't pinch. I did end up returning them because the 4 in. heel was a bit too high for me. If you are used to high heels this is the shoe for you.

I have real trouble wearing heels, so these shoes would probably get a higher review from someone who's used to spikes. They did feel stable and relatively comfortable, I just find walking in them a challenge. They look great though.

Tsubo makes a quality product and I have several other shoes from them (love that they use leather lining). Unfortunately the toe box on this one is a little short (but plenty wide) and shows too much toe cleavage. But the arch support is well designed for a heel of this height. I found the color on the website is true to the color in person - grey, not brown grey as another customer mentioned.

I like these shoes! I needed something easy to walk around in for work. The strap allows for some stretch which makes it comfortable and not too tight, it is also adjustable. Good height for walking. It fits well, no rubbing or pinching. Comfy!

What a beautiful shoe. It fits true to size but it sets me forward which makes it difficult to walk. Sadly, I'm returning these.

Gorgeous shoe in style and quality craftsmanship. Very comfortable at first and definitely no binding or blisters even at the end of the evening. Despite all of this quality and built in comfort features, being raised 4" all night proved too much pressure for my toes and ball of my feet by the end of the evening. Pleased on the way in, excruciating pain on the way out. So bummed that I will never be able to wear this fantastic looking, quality shoe again. However, if you can handle 4" high heels, this is likely the most comfortable pair you will find.

FYI This brand runs LARGE! The manufacturer size from American to European is different than most other shoe companies. An 8.5 American is usually a 39 Euro however both pairs I ordered listed an 8.5 American to be a 39.5 Euro. All that said I am going to reorder them because they have great potential and here's why...although the heels felt taller than 3.5" (slightly different pitch) they were very comfortable (3.5" is my heel height of choice;) the foot-bed is very cushy at the ball and the heel so the pressure is minimal compared to other heels; the toe box is roomy without looking too round; FYI there is no padding at the arch (hence no arch support but I didn't need it with the other padding;) the the thicker ankle strap elongates my foot although they may be a tad narrow (thanks to an adjustable strap problem solved- I have an average instep and lastly the color is a beautiful smokey grey (hint of brown) exactly as pictured making them a great neutral heel. :-)

I loved this shoe but when I got 6.5 size, it felt a teeny bit larger so I ordered size 6 which was a bot tight. Then I noticed that in my 6.5 pair, left foot was a tiny bit larger than right. I might be manufacturer defect just in that pair but do not want to take another chance and very disappointed to return these.

I'm a big fan of Tsubo's "Acrea" shoe, so I thought that I would love these Caias. But the heel is quite a bit higher, and I wasn't so comfortable walking around in it. I also think that the design of the strap makes the shoe look a little clunky on my foot. They are, as usual for Tsubo, extremely sturdy and well made.

Oof - I love comfy heels, and based on the reviews, I was hoping to love these! Unfortunately, these went right back in the box. They don't feel cushiony - the cushions you see in the picture are actually really hard. They also put your feet at a very awkward angle, so that it's uncomfortable even to stand still. There's basically no arch in them, and the upper feels very stiff. I'm sad to have to send these back!
