These boots are so comfortable! I love the rigid traction, brown & black color combo, and height, but my favorite part is that the sole is squishy and lets you walk around silently. No more annoying clicking and stomping! Good around sleeping babies.

Favorite pair of boots I own! I did end up returning for a size smaller from an 8 to a 7. I am usually an 8 in most brands but the boot was rather roomy and clunky, I didn't like that. I am happy with my decision to exchange because these boots are awesome, I have gotten many compliments. I'm really outdoorsy and these are just some tough rugged boots that I will have forever!

These are awesome. I have so much trouble finding shoes. I just want simple, cool, everyday boots, just one pair of good shoes, and I will pay top dollar for them, but they need to be good. Also I have high arches. I used to have a pair of Frye engineer boots that were similar to these, but the heel height hurt my feet, and also the top of my foot is weird and bony, and they hurt that, too. So what I love about these is that they are flat. I love that the insole comes out, because that means I can put my own insoles in without taking up extra room. They are soft and comfortable out of the box. I was not sure what the soles would be like from the picture, but they are awesome, comfortable, very exaggeratedly toothy and gives them a lot of character, rugged yet elegant. Also the fact that they are black with that bit of brown detail helps tone down that too tough, motorcycle boot thing and means they will go with everything. They are a little hard to slip on but I think in a few days they will not be. For me they fit true to size. I tried half a size down and they were way too small. I am not sure how they were so huge for everyone else. I love them, buy them!

I purchased 14 pairs of boots from Zappos before deciding on these. They are warm, fashionable, waterproof, and sturdy. I now wear them everyday. Thank you!

I am in love with these boots! I was a bit frustrated at first because they were difficult to get on and many reviews that I read said that they weren't. But after wearing them in a bit, they go on super easy. They are warm and they have great traction. The first day I wore them, we had a snow storm, my feet stayed dry and warm and I was never worried about slipping! They're super cute and they go with pretty much everything. They're a win all around!

I really love these boots! I was looking for an ankle-high boot that could be worn with jeans and these are perfect. Comfortable - love the look - easy to pull on. They are definitely 1/2 size big and based on other reviews I was able to get the right size the first time.

I love this boot! Lightweight and comfy. Runs big. Not much arch support for those who need that; however I have worn for several hours straight without any issues...

I saw the other reviews here and went a full size smaller. I usually wear a 7½ or 7 and I went with 6½. They fit perfectly and feel wonderful on. They are loose around the legs so they are easy to pull on and off. I now wear them with everything, they are my favorite item of footwear that I own now!

These are a great addition to my fall/winter wardrobe. They have a rustic, country look I like. The fit could be better - they definitely run 1/2-size big. Since they don't make a 10.5, I'll stick with the 11s and use an insert to help with that. The height of the boot shaft makes tucking-in your pant leg hard IMO, so for skinny jeans, I'm wearing them rolled up a couple of turns. Overall I really like these.

I am really happy with these boots. While they are expensive, the color is great and the leather is great quality. They are easy to pull on and look good with skinny or straight jeans. I have worn them in the rain and my feet stayed completely dry. The nice thing is that since they are not too bulky and don't look like a rain boot I can wear them in any kind of fall weather. They do run big. I usually wear an 8.5 and the 8 still leaves me enough room to wear warm socks.

I wanted these for a backpacking trip though Europe, I thought they'd be perfect, waterproof, solid company name. I just got a size too big. Normally I'm an 8 to an 8.5. These were size 7.5 and still too big. I think 7 would have worked. They were very roomy and I loved how soft and broken in the ankle bit was. enough room to stuff boot cut jeans in if necessary. Looked super cute with Skinny Jeans.

Just got them. Love these boots; have been waiting for a pair like them for a long time. Heel is flat but provides a little platform height and not dumpy or clumpy looking and enough 'shoe heel' to deter jeans from immediately settling under my heel. I'm short and have a difficult time finding flatter styles of shoes & boots that don't make me look frumpy or bad...or just not good. Usually I wear a 6.5 in boots; 6.0 in sandals and some heels; 7.0 in running shoes. I ordered 6.5 first which was too big. Size 6 fits perfectly!

These boots are very lovely, but they did not hold my heel in place sufficiently well. I think this will lead to blisters and unhappiness so I am sending them back.

I really like these boots overall and have worn them quite a bit. In the beginning they did give me a blister on the back of my heel, but it wasn't so bad. They were really stiff in the beginning and tough to get on. After you break them in a bit they get better.

I loved the look of these boots, they were just what I was looking for...not too tall, not too short, waterproof, no heel, and leather/buckles...ordered 1/2 size smaller based on reviews, and they were too small. I then got the 9s (I have Joan of Arctic in a 9) and they are perfect. No slipping, no rubbing. I have high arches and will probably get my own inserts eventually, but they are comfortable all day so far. Easy on and off, rugged but good-looking, and comfortable. Also lightweight. So far so good!

I got these boots just in time for a rainy week in Ireland. I am an 8.5, and the 8 fits very well, even with thick socks. They are roomy and comfortable, the soles are great. And they perform well in the rain, but wouldn't be good in a downpour as the boot opening is very wide. It'd be better if the top buckle was adjustable. The downsides are that they are tough to pull on -- one boot still requires a lot of work to get on, although it gets better with time. While they are comfortable, they are not very supportive for lots of walking. Overall, I am very happy with these boots.

I'm pretty pleased with these boots. The quality of the super soft leather is very high, and they are comfortable out of the box. They have a rustic appeal that I really like. The fit is definitely 1/2-size large. I normally wear a Size 11, and even with a thick sock these 11s fit a little "sloppy." If they made a 10.5, I'd probably exchange them. I like the black color with brown details. It makes these boots extremely versatile.

Loved the look, loved the mid-calf height, loved that they were lightweight, well cushioned and comfortable. Sadly, they run very long so the 6 I ordered is too big and they have to go back. Wish they made them smaller. I would have given them 5 stars if they had a tad more support and came in a smaller size.

This is a beautiful boot, and I wanted to love it, but was very disappointed upon attempting to put them on. The 9 seemed big enough for my size 9.5 foot, but the boot itself is so narrow I couldn't even get my foot in! The band around the ankle made any hope of putting my long/wide foot in impossible. After much struggling, I gave up and returned them. The sole does not have much traction, it reminds me of my UGGs. But, the leather is beautiful, just not for me.

Really cute but so big! I usually wear 7.5 or 8. I read the other reviews and ordered down to a 7...still really big. Had to return them.

I was very disappointed by these boots. I am in the market for a pair of stylish, all-weather boots, and these fell short. The sizing was very strange -- the 9.5 (my usual size) was definitely too big/required lots of heavy socks to fit properly, yet the 9 was way too small (I could barely get my foot into the shoe -- granted, I do have high arches). Further, they run quite narrow. I didn't find them to be comfortable, and in fact while trying them out, purchased a pair of cushioned insoles to make up for their lack of support. The real deal breaker, however, was that they provide no traction on smooth surfaces -- NYC subway platform, subway car floor, museum floor -- all were a fail/made me super nervous to walk, as I felt that I was going to wipe out (my Havaiana flip flops have more traction than these things). Toss some ice and snow into the mix and I can't imagine what would happen. Thankfully, Zappos has the best return policy, and thus I sent these back. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed, especially considering how legit Sorel boots are supposed to be.

I bought these boots loving the style but they are so difficult to pull on! I think it might be because I have a high arch. In any case, there is no way to get enough leverage (no loops to pull) to pull on the boots without a lot of effort. After a few days, I had broken the heel of my new boots just trying to get them on. Once they are on they are super comfortable but it's pretty disappointing how long it takes me to get these on my feet once I decide to wear them.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get these on while wearing socks. And since they are not lined, socks would be necessary, so they're going back.
