This is my first Patagonia footwear purchase and I am very happy with my purchase. The quality of these boots is very nice and they are the perfect blend of style and function. I live in a mountain town and it already snowed a bit this past weekend. I will be on crutches later this fall and I have been looking for a stylish, water-resistant boot with good traction for when I will need to venture out in the snow on my crutches. The Vibram sole on these boots was the selling point for me. However, I also appreciate the design because I did not want another pair of Vibram-soled hiking boots or big snow boots. The boots are not dressy, but for everyday life in a mountain town they are great. I bought the Thatcher color, which is a lovely chocolate brown. The boot shaft comes to about four inches below my knee. I have a narrow foot, but by adjusting the ankle buckles my feet do not slip at all and the boots are comfortable with both medium weight socks (e.g., Smartwool Women's Hike Medium Crew) as well as my old-school, super thick, knee-high ski socks. I have been wearing the boots around the house all evening; they are very comfortable right out of the box. My calves are about 13.5 inches in circumference and many boots are too big in the upper shaft/calf area for me but the shafts of these boots fits my calves nicely. These boots have enough space for me to wear jeans tucked into the boots but I can also wear jeans with a slim bootcut over the boots and it looks just fine. However, I think the boots look cuter over the jeans rather than under. Even though these boots are water-resistant, I plan on treating them with my beeswax shoe conditioner to give them a little more waterproofing for snowy conditions. I order a 7.5; I found them to be true-to-size and I think the next size down would be too tight with thicker socks. For reference, I wear a 7.5 in Frye Campus boots, an 8 in Saucony running shoes, an 8 in Chaco Flips, a 38 narrow in Dansko clogs, and a 36 (5 1/2) in La Sportiva women's Miura climbing shoes. I am absolutely thrilled with these boots! I was looking for a perfect pair that was fashionable, rustic, and comfortable - these boots absolutely hit the mark on all three components. Thanks again, Zappos, for keeping me a happy customer!

I saved and saved for these boots and was so excited to make the big purchase. They are beautiful and are obviously made well. The leather smells amazing straight out of the box. Unfortunately, after wearing them around the house for about an hour they were already beginning to rub my ankle bone. This may have been something that would soften with wear, but I'm not willing to take the chance of wearing them outside and then finding that they don't get better and not be able to return them. Alas, they must go back.

I bought these for my wife who volunteers at a riding center for handicapped children. She's a Nebraska farm girl, and would never buy these for herself because of the price. I'm tired of her wasting money on cheap, uncomfortable, disposable footwear. So; I purchased these for her after searching through the large number of choices. Most of these boots are for fashion, and not very utilitarian. These boots are both fashionable, and should hold up well in the paddocks after I waterproof the leather. She can wear them with her jeans tucked in or over the outside. She won't need to worry about where she steps because the zippers don't go all the way down to the sole. She loves them, and says that they are very comfortable, and are true to her size. Yes the tops are a bit large; but she says that it makes them easy to doff, and don. They're made in China, and have the corresponding workmanship. The leather is soft, and will require little break in time. The heel, and sole are replaceable. To my way of thinking they are overpriced by at least a lot; but the fact that she loves them makes the price negligible.

This boot is better looking in the picture than in person. The color was not as dark as pictured - there is a white sheen on it that makes it look like cheap plastic. It runs true to size, but if you want warmth with thicker socks, go a half size up. Also, the hi-lo design hit my mid-shin and calf in the wrong place, leaving a gap in the back. These are not worth the money.

Comfortable from the moment I put them on. Every time I wear them I get compliments. Warm and toe box nice and roomy so could wear heavy socks if needed. Grey color actually looks more black but is attractive nonetheless. Sturdy boot which will probably serve me for years!!

Coolest boots ever! Comfy too. The 'broke in' color looks great for that not so brand new look. Great with skinny jeans or leggings. Everybody wants my boots! And Zappos is so fast! Returns for sizes or color couldn't be faster! Love them.

Love these boots and am so glad I treated myself to them! I had foot surgery years ago, and it's often tough to find comfortable footwear. I typically wear either a 7-1/2 or 8...ordered these in an 8, and they are so comfortable! They look great and I get tons of compliments on them. Thanks Zappos!

Function Meets Fashion! I'm a boot snob. That being said, I own much better looking boots than these. That being said, if I want to look stylish when it is cold and soggy but not quite full-on snow boot weather, these are the perfect boot. Run true to size. I was worried they might be loose in the calf even though I have fairly athletic legs but they fit nicely with skinny jeans tucked in. Sturdy sole and extremely comfortable footbed, although it could use more arch support (I might add my own inserts). The "forge grey" is really black, as shown in picture.

These boots were so pretty and felt wonderful from the first time I tried them on. I thought the color(Llama) was a little too greenish grey looking. I would have kept them, if I could afford more than one pair of boots. I would recommend these for the comfort, I just didn't feel I would get enough wear out of them so I sent them back.

I love these boots! They are just what I was looking for in an everyday, rider-style boot. I've received lots of compliments on them. The color is perfect. These boots are comfortable and good quality.

These are the best boots I've ever owned- not to mention, they are the best looking! They are extremely well made, and have nice arch support (even though I put my super feet in them). I'm usually a 7, but ordered a half size up, and they were perfect. The soles are meant for the rugged outdoors- not like most "fashion" boots on the market. The shaft is the perfect height (I'm 5'3" and hate boots that come up so high it's difficult to drive). I absolutely love these boots, and know they will last for many years.

My husband surprised me with these boots for Christmas, probably because I wouldn't ever buy them for myself. They are so comfortable and I love the height, perfect for tucking in my jeans and leggings! The Thatcher was the perfect color to coordinate with my wardrobe. Home run Patagonia!

If you are on the fence about ordering these boots, just do it! They are so comfortable and super cute. I never wear shoes or boots this color but they looked so cute on the website I figured that I would take a chance. I think they run just a little bit big. Quality, thick leather, and they hit at a very flattering part of your calf. I was worried that they would not be tall enough, but they are perfect. I love them!

These boots have exceeded my expectations. They fit perfectly - especially for someone who is petite. Leather is high quality and boots are extremely comfortable. Have received numerous compliments from strangers.

I love these boots. My experience with Patagonia shoes was that they don't always fit true to size, but these boots do and have great arch support. They are warm, comfortable and quite beautiful. I got the Oakum color which is gorgeous. The vibram soles are great and I was reluctant to buy these due to the high cost, but now I believe it is worth it and these will last as a sturdy, stylish boot. The only issue for some might be how wide the top of the boot is, I don't have an issue with it however there is some open space between my leg and the top of the boot. Looks great with skinny jeans, tights, etc. and so comfortable! These are great fall and winter boots and I highly recommend them.
