Due to so many mixed reviews I was worried these wouldn't fit. But they do and I'm so happy with my first pair of Swedish Hasbeens! I have a very wide, size 8 feet with long toes (I wear an 8.5 in Jeffrey Campbells but his shoes are known to run small). My instep is approximately 3 inches and wide. I purchased the size 38. They are very light and because of the platform, they do not feel like I'm wearing sky high but more like 2.5 heels. They are fantastic for adding height without killing your feet or lower back. The shoes in person look very narrow but I fit into them. The Swedish Hasbeens site tells you what to expect: the leather will soften and stretch with wear and one day fit your feet like a glove. So you should expect them to fit a tad uncomfortably in the beginning. Mine are a little tight at the instep and will need to be stretched. I plan on doing that around the house with socks on. I first purchased these from Urban Outfitters.com, they listed them in half sizes only so I went with the 8.5 (turned out to be size 39) and they were way too big, leaving about an inch or more where my heel should be. I then went to the Swedish Hasbeens US site and found their size chart. If you are unsure about what size you should order, I highly recommend using it. This will give you exact measurements in inches and centimeters to help you choose the proper size.

This has been my go to summer shoe. It is a little high but is easy to walk in. I am usually a 6.5 and got a size 36. Fits just right.

I absolutely love these shoes! I wear them every day. They are comfortable, beautifully crafted and elegant. I can't wait to get them in another color/style. The leather is amazingly comfortable.

Love this shoe. I can wear it ALL day long for more than 10 hrs. And not feel like I have to take them off, to me that's awesome. It's hard for me to doing great shoes like this. The color is amazing. I get lots of compliments on them. :)

I have several Hasbeens (3 boots, 3 clogs, 1 sandal) and all are size 38. So I ordered these in the same and they were way to long and sloppy I found at a local store and sized down to a 37 and they were much better. Not sure if it’s just the style or because all of my other Hasbeens are boots /clogs which having a little more room is helpful and not noticeable. Other than the sizing they are so cute love the weaved leather look!!

Cute and sassy! Look great with jeans or a skirt.
The nubuck starts out very stiff and quite tight so breaking them in before going on a long walk is recommended.
I usually wear between 8 - 8.5. The 8.5 (size 39) did it for me. My feet are narrow and the 8.5s were still tight so someone with a wider foot might need a larger size.

I really like these shoes, but they definitely run large. I normally wear a 5 1/2 to 6 (closer to 5 1/2) and the 36 is pretty loose for me. I have to buckle them on the tightest setting and even still they are a little bit loose. They are still comfortable and cute though. Wore them all day at work, was on my feet most of the day, and I had no issues at all. I just wish they came in a smaller size. Please get size 35 for this brand!

Gorgeous, well-made, compliment-magnet shoes, but boy o' boy are they uncomfortable at first. I was advised to buy a size up and am very glad I did. Even after wearing them around the house for a couple of days, they were still very tight and I could feel blisters starting to form. I ended up spraying them lightly with some water and continuing to wear them around until they fit a better. The little bit of trouble was worth it though, since they fit perfectly now and I get compliments on them every time I wear them.

I love Swedish Hasbeens in general, but the way the straps are at the top doesn't look right. It's like one of them on each side is sticking out. Looks like a design flaw. They are going back.

I wrote an earlier review that began with, Due to so many mixed reviews; but I wanted to clarify something since I've been wearing them for over a week now. My foot width at my instep is about 3 inches and 3.4ths wide; that is very wide. I do like the Braided Sky Highs but I realized that they vary in form thru looking at images of them on Google (there's either more toe coverage or less) so they fit differently depending on what shoes you happen to get, NOT because you have different feet! If you look at the various close-ups on Google you'll see what I mean. One woman has complete coverage while another is barely able to squeeze her pinky toe in and you'll see that it's all because the leather is attached at different points of the instep, either an inch higher up the wood or directly above the instep. So there's either less or more coverage and in my case I have less. This is a bit disappointing since I was inspired to purchase the Braided Sky Highs from images showing more coverage. I just got a pair of the Fredricas and they fit so unbelievably better and don't show any pinky toe cleavage, yay! This is because the leather is attached higher up the instep rather than directly above. Another bonus is I won't even have to stretch them out, no socks and a blow dryer for these! This explains the vast contradictions in reviews to me, and I hope it helps those who feel like a wicked step sister alienated from all the Cinderella stories, realize it's not their big feet ruining it for them. You can have the perfect fit with Swedish Hasbeens, if you find the right variation.

The braided upper is not super comfortable - bandaids required to help with the rubbing/blisters. Hoping they break in, because they're super cute.

I've been a happy, loyal customer of Zappos for years. I was on the market for wardrobe staple/investment piece leather sandals and decided to splurge on these. They were shipped to me quickly, and lovely at first, but within less than one month of owning them, the rubber sole on the heel fell off, and the golden color of the leather had become patchy and faded. I reached out to Hasbeens Customer Service and was told that since they use natural materials, the color can fade and the glue can become loose with 'time and wear'. I wore these shoes less than ten times before they began to fall apart. When I pointed this out to them, they suggested I contact Zappos customer service- even though this is in no way Zappos' fault. For a company that prides themselves on craftsmanship, this really stinks. Don't waste your money.
