I used the jacket during a cold stretch we've had recently. It seemed warmer than a jacket it replaced. Being able to tighten the hood is a nice feature. It would be nice to have another couple pockets.

This is a stylish and warm jacket. Bought the Cosmic Blue color jacket.

I was tired of buying winter down jackets that were cumbersome and movement impaired. I noticed this Gatebreak down jacket on the North Face site during "Black Friday", read the reviews, noticed the price was reasonable and purchased it with the knowledge that if it was not what was advertised, I would return it to the nearest North Face Store. I have nothing but accolades for this jacket. It has kept me comfortable in the coldest of weather, does not impede my movement, the color chosen(gray & blue) complement one another and I am not worrying about some customers complaints that the color gets dirty easily. It is washable in any washer. I would recommend this jacket to anyone(you can still choose your own color) who wants a amazingly warm, lightweight and non constricting cold weather coat.

Absolutely love this jacket in every way! Warm comfortable stylish . I use this jacket all the time. Originally I bought this jacket because I really like the looks,which I constantly get compliments on. I started wearing on my hiking excursions and it performed perfectly. It's light weight and quite comfortable. No hyperbole... This is wonderful!

I took a chance in this jacket. I already own the McMurdo jacket but I wanted a casual jacket. I wore this jacket in the evenings. I received a few compliments but most importantly this jacket held a few cold NJ nights. I recently wore while attending an evening football game with a cool wind and 30 degree night. The jacket is lightweight and warm. I wore a light sweater and was very warm. I am very happy with my selection and another great product by the north face.

Use in the cold Michigan weather

The coat has a great fit to it and stands up in the brutal winters in Minnesota. You'd expect a down coat to be heavy or bulky, but this is the exact opposite. Would recommend.
