Love the look, these look great with jeans and equally good with dressier pants. I usually prefer a little more tapered heel, but the overall look is so good, I decided to keep these. The heel area is wider than usual as noted by other buyers. I have a normal, medium width foot and will need to wear thick socks to keep it from sliding around. the toe area does not squash your foot, it's a comfortable boot.

Nice looking shoe, and superb construction BUT the seam across the top of the foot HURTS! Tried different sizes but just a very uncomfortable shoe for me. Sending back.

Love these booties. Looks great with jeans and dress pants. Bought them in black and have received numerous compliments. Very comfortable shoe. Definitely recommend. Frye makes amazing shoes and boots - not my first Frye purchase nor will it be my last.

This is a beautiful shoe. Generally I wear a 8.5 or a 9 and am a average B/C foot width. I ordered the 8.5 and it was so small that I could barely get my foot into the shoe, so back they go. Unfortunately neither the 9 or 9.5 is available in the color I desire, so I will wait for the restock.

Quality look and feel. Love the way these booties fit. Nice gait to them when I'm walking! Zappos went above and beyond when I had to exchange for a half size smaller. Love the boots, love the service!

Such a beautiful shoe but I was looking for something post-bunion surgery and this just isn't stretchy enough at this time (maybe later I hope!). I take an 8 in Frye...usually 8.5 in most other brands.

These shoes are absolutely amazing. I have tried on at least 30 pairs of shoes and boots, looking for the perfect stylish and durable work shoe. I hesitated on these because of the price (I rarely spend more than $125). These are super-comfortable, well-constructed, and the leather is gorgeous. I wanted a bootie type of shoe that didn't make my ankles look like chicken-legs (I'm petite). These have a lovely almond toe, and although the heel is chunky, it does not impose itself, but rather adds to the shape and weight of the shoe. I will mostly wear with jeans, but I'm a stocking-girl, and can't wait to pair these with something more interesting. The construction where the opening splits to accommodate my foot is not gappy, and seems like it will stay put. Like other reviewers have said, the soles are slick! But I will either add traction or scuff them. I am a 7.5 in most brands (occasionally 8 in heels or boots -- for comfort), and these fit like a glove. I can imagine putting some thin insoles in, since I stand and walk a lot at work, but I do that for all of my shoes. Highly recommend these on all fronts! I know they are pricey (!) but I do not regret the purchase.

This is a great shoe. They slip on quite comfortably, and the heel is not too high to walk around in all day. I live on a really high hill, so I have to walk up and down hills every day. I am actually an 8.5W, and I sometimes wear a 9 if shoes are too narrow, but Frye shoes tend to run long, so I have to wear an 8.5. However, they always stretch out to accommodate my width, so it's never been a problem. The one thing about these is that it can be tricky if you need to run to catch a bus...they might slip off. But, in general, they are a solid, all-day professional-looking shoe that feels built to last for decades. No break-in time.

I love these shoes! I bought them originally in the cognac and came back for the black. They are extremely comfortable. I wear them all day with no problem. They have the look of a boot under pants. I am a Frye devotee and this is my absolute favorite style by Frye.

Gorgeous! Typical Frye quality and glove-like fit in a beautifully simple and elegant, very flattering design. Two pairs, black and brown will be my new favorites for the office.

I love these shoes! Fits true to size, leather is soft enough to wear without socks if you choose. Heel is chunky and just high enough to make them stylish but able to get through your day with comfort. I got the black and the brown I liked them so much.

Great shoe! I've been having trouble finding stylish shoes that are comfortable and don't hurt my feet after just a few hours. Ordered these shoes in dark brown in size 11 to try. The leather was incredibly soft and the shoe was well made. I wore them around the house first for fit and later into the office. The shoe was extremely comfortable after being worn all day. Love the look with pants, jeans, and skirts. After being so pleased with them, I ordered the black and burnt read, also. The leather in the black pair is softer than the other two, which is quite nice. The burnt red color it a great pop of color with jeans, black, or gray outfits. I am thrilled with all 3 pairs!

Thank you, Frye, for making a comfortable shoe with a great heel. These are a great alternative to a short boot. I wore Maggie oxfords all last year, so these will be a nice change. The dark brown practically glows with its beautiful patina. Thanks, Zappos, for being the first to offer these, even before Fryes own website. I wear 10 in Frye and that's what fits me. Others would call it a generous fit.

Cute shoe that appears very well made. But wasn't quite what I was looking for. Also my foot is a bit wide so it makes the toe curl up a bit in the front (for more of a cowboy boot look). Possible that this is just the way it is supposed to look but wasn't what I was looking for.

Very well made shoe, nice neutral style, and the arch support is surprisingly good for this type of shoe. Especially noteworthy: the chunky heel is very stable, making this an excellent choice for women who don't like heels or don't often wear heels. However, the fit was all wrong for my foot. I need a shoe that's wider at the ball of the foot and narrower at the heel; this shoe was tight at the ball of the foot and much too wide at the heel. If you have rectangular and relatively slender feet, this may be just the shoe for you.

This is a shoe that had to grow on me. As others have mentioned, it's rather plain overall when compared to other Frey designs. Then there's the weird seam-feeling thing across the vamp/toe box that can be supremely annoying, simply because it feels like you should be able to move the tongue around to fix it, but alas, no. And for someone like me (most people, really) who has one foot that's marginally larger than the other, the pressure can really stand out in one shoe. However, as I said at the top, this shoe has grown on me. With the right socks,they work pretty well and look absolutely awesome with my skinny jeans.

These shoes are really as beautiful as I expected! I bought a half size up as I often do because my feet are very wide by my toes (thanks to ballet bunions), and they are very comfortably wide enough! Although, I would normally recommend getting your size because the heel stretches and the leather is soft, so I can imagine they could form well to a foot if they start out as snug. As far as comfort goes, when I walk in these for a while they are not the very best. I notice there is some cushioning lacking on the bottom of my big toe joint because that spot on my foot starts to feel a lot of pressure after a bit. I am also knocking off one star because after wearing them once, the bottoms became super slippery. Like, no traction whatsoever. When I wear these I have to remember to slowly scoot across the tile bathroom floor at work, or it's like ice skating. I live in NYC, so sidewalk surfaces change frequently and I have to be really careful. I am going to look into putting something on the bottoms to add traction. I think the style will transfer well from winter into spring, as I think they would look great with shorts and skirts as well as pants.

I love Frye boots anything. I was on the fence about these but every review said how cute and comfortable they are. Well they are comfortable but not your typical Frye style. They remind me of Nun's shoes. They are mot stylish at all. But if you want comfort you got it.

I am a fan of Frye boots. These shoes fit perfectly and are comfortable. They were advertised as being dark brown, but they weren't dark enough. Also, they had a tiny bit of a red tone.

I would have loved to keep the grey ones -- they are really beautiful shoes and super comfortable. My heel kept slipping up out of the back of the shoes, however, whenever I walked. Sigh. Had to return them.
