I have a 20 year old pair of Tevas. They fit right, aren't too wide, like a duck foot, have a good footbed with arch support, also a good sole that doesn't slip. I've even used them on a hike or two. The newer Teva is nothing like that. This shoe is just a piece of rubber with some cheap fabric attached to it. Still looking to replace my old ones but until I find something decent I'd rather use them.

I have worn this particular style Teva for MANY years. I was unable to find them in any retail store, so I turned to the internet. I ordered them thinking they were the ones I had always worn. Well, they aren't. The look is the same, but the feel is totally different. Very uncomfortable! I was even going to order a second pair just so I would always have them. I wore them in the winter with socks I loved them so much! But, I won't be ordering anymore...in fact I won't be wearing these as much either. Very disappointed!!

I have had the Original Universal before. But this version has very skimpy straps and more Velcro than decorative braid. To adjust them to fit, I was left with a huge swath of Velcro, which would attract debris and get dirty. And it is not pretty to see all that Velcro instead of braid. And the back strap is not adjustable. I was very disappointed in this version of the Original Universal. It is also frustrating that Teva does not make half sizes as the 8 is too big and the 7 is too small.

I left at the end of December to travel around the world for a year and really needed to invest in great universal sandals, so of course I choose Tevas. I bought two different pairs to match each occasion. However both of them did not live up to my expectations. Within 2 months they broke, the strap came out from the sole of the shoe and now I have nothing to wear. Do not buy these if you are hoping for a long term sandal. I would expect for the price it would match the value.

I do not like the way this sandal fits. If I had worn them before I decided to keep them, I would have sent them back. I thought they would fit like the pair I purchased 4 years ago. The front strap is sits in the middle of my foot and digs into the top of my foot. They are hard to walk in because the front strap is in the middle of my foot leaving 1/2 my foot in front of the strap so it catches on the ground unless I "march" with my feet 15-24 inches off the ground to take a step. I bought these to walk in town and on the beach, but now realize they are one of "those" shoes meant to be looked at and not worn. The ankle strap is so low, it is hard to keep the shoe on my heel. I am pretty disappointed in this shoe! I wish I would have sent them back. I loved my flipflops I bought and should have returned this horrible pair of shoes and purchased 2 pairs of cute flipflops!! These are THE WORST shoe I have ever purchased and will probably never buy TEVA again because of the low quality and poor design of this shoe. I have worn original TEVA's for years and did not realize the fit had been changed. This shoe USED to be designed so the front strap went over your toes, not in the middle of your foot!

Bought the Original thinking it would work as a hiking and kayaking shoe. Foam sole, while very lightweight is not any good for serious adventure. Think of these as an expensive pair of flip-flops.

Wore these for about 2 months over the Southern Hemisphere summer. After about 3 weeks the soles had started to wear out quite noticeably and where the material is connected to the base by my big toe was starting to pull away. I probably won't be able to wear them again this summer for fear they could fall apart at any time. The thin sole also means they are not suitable to wear out walking/hiking, unlike previous Tevas which have had much more robust soles and lasted several years. This pair was a replacement for my Ventura Cork 2's, which I returned as they were sub-standard, can't be bothered paying the postage to return this pair. My original Venturas lasted at least 4 years and would love to see them make a comeback.

These are thing soled, lacking any kind of arch support and feel flimsy. I am very disappointed. I've had TIVA's with soles like auto tires that lasted fifteen years. Not these.

I wore the shoes for a thirty minute walk and then the soles started detaching from the shoe! Yikes. I thought these were hiking sandals. :/

I ended up returning these because they looked incredibly stupid as soon as I put them on my feet....my boyfriend literally burst out laughing at them as soon as I put them on also. First time that's ever happened..haha I'm sure they work well, and are of quality - they just looked so bad, were ill-fitting on my foot (I usually wear a 9.5 and the 10 was huge on me), and the colors were much brighter than were represented on the website.

Very poor quality compared to my original Tevas which finally fell apart after 10+ years. Soles are thinner --not as comfortable for walking. Very disappointing.

As Teva has grown, quality has suffered. My first pair of Universals fell apart after 15 months. The replacement pair came apart after 7 months. The soles delaminated from the uppers in both cases. FYI, the sandals were worn 4-5 hours each week...light usage. After being a loyal Teva wearer for 30+ years, I have turned to the competition. Previous sandals lasted for years not months. The current offerings are a sad excuse for the amazing shoes that Doug Otto created.

If the straps accidentally touch the Velcro, the material pulls out a little and gets fuzzy. Happened second time I wore them when I crossed my feet. Never had this problem with other material in Texas

On the water, Hiking. It just was not like the original so we glued the sole on the old pair and will continue to use them. The [air is a good 15 to 20 years old! Thin, no support. awful.

I had Teva a few years ago and expected it to be the same, especially since the top was leather. I expected a shoe built for a woman on the go. I use these sandals for just about everything but not this time. The sole was so cheap and thin and the leather would never stand up like it did in years past. Not sure what happened but I returned them. I need a rugged sandal that is worth the price - which I'm willing to pay if the quality is there and it wasn't there this time.

Although a very good looking sandal, I found the bed of the sandal to be slippery. Tightening the straps did not prevent my feet from sliding forward out of the sandal. I had to return them. Despite the low rating for the sandal itself, I give 5 stars to Teva for their very easy and convenient return policy!
