First, let me just say it was *really* hard for me to spend this much on a pair of shoes. That said, for me they have been worth every penny.
I am not a runner, but walk briskly more than 100 miles a month around my hilly neighborhood, often loaded down with 10#s of ankle weights and a stroller. When I upped my game and got a treadmill all the athletic shoes I have loved before started giving me painful shin splints when used on the treadmill, a problem that I could not overcome through stretching or adjusting the incline. (Exception: Saucony Vegan Jazz Pro, purchased for casual wear, not workouts. Pain-free on the treadmill, but not ideal cushioning or support. Again, I have the stiffer/less cushy vegan version.) I had read about pronation in Zappos reviews before, and I thought I understood where I stood, but I was wrong. (I am totally neutral, as is the Gel-Nimbus.) In desperation I ended up in a local running store and the Asics Gel-Nimbus was their suggestion. There was a less expensive neutral Asics model as well, but the Nimbus felt so much better and I was desperate my husband pushed me to splurge. I came back to Zappos to order, since I had already returned so many shoes and felt guilty about all the free returns, and finally found my shoes.
Compared to my Asics Gel-Kahana 6's (previously my most recent preferred pair for the neighborhood, especially when wearing ankle weights) they are far less structured, much lighter, and way more cushioned. They feel amazing, although with weights I would prefer more structure, on a treadmill (no weights) these are ideal. I often wear no-show socks, but when I wear low-cut socks instead the color from the shoe has transferred to the heal of my socks and does not wash out with detergent alone. I have Wine/White/Flash Yellow, and the "yellow" seems way more like highlighter green to me. The white Asics stripes are glittery white, and the silver and wine are very shiny. My 5 year old daughter and her friends are in love.
I found the Nimbus to run small and needed my first ever 10.0. I usually wear a 9.5 in running shoes (the occasional 9.0 in Adidas) and my Asics Gel-Kahana 6's are 9.5. Back when I ordered my Kahana's I tried to go wide for a roomier toe box but found the ankle far too loose. I prefer a roomy toe box, and while I wouldn't call these wide, they certainly aren't narrow.
I have logged over 200 miles in them now and I don't regret them one bit. Finding the right pair (and being able to return so many wrong ones through Zappos amazing free returns) was worth the wait.

In 2006 I bought 3 pairs Asics Gel Nimbus. They fit my foot perfectly. After that although the name stayed the same, the construction of the shoe changed. The wide and deep toe and narrow heel last that worked so well for me was discarded by Asics. Every year after 2006, I ordered Nimbus from Zappos and returned them--heel too wide and toe too shallow. But finally Asics seems to have wised up with Nimbus 15. Toe is both wide and deep, great for high arch, and heel is narrow. In 2006, I bought size 7.5 width B (my usual size in Asics). This time, 7.5 was too short. Size 8 width AA is a perfect fit. Go figure. The lightening (silver) shoe color is not quite as garish as it looks in the picture, but I could have done without the hot pink decorations.
I'd also recommend:
Asics Gel Cumulus is a good second choice but I prefer Nimbus.

If you have a wide foot; high arch, and need cloud-like cushioning in the forefoot, the Asics Gel-Nimbus 15 are a dream sequence! I am a toe-strike runner (with slight ligament damage in my right foot), who was horrified by the 13s & 14s, but now I'm back! The only negative: I hate all 3 color choices...ended up getting the purple, but there is way too much day-glo in them! Only good if you're running at night!

Tried the Nimbus 14's and hated them after loving the 11's & 12's. These 15's, however, are amazing! Back to everything you love about the Nimbus. A good, well-cushioned running shoe.

I have been wearing Asics for years and this is the best model they've come out with in a while. I am 30 years old and have a degenerative hip and osteoarthritis and wearing this shoe means the difference between walking and not walking. They are a bit wider than the Nimbus 13 or 14 but I like the extra space in the toe box. Awesome shoe. I think I'm going to order another pair of these just because I like this model so much more.

Please try to standardize sizes. It keeps changing based on where it was manufactured. Also, please mark styles as neutral when it applies. For those of us who wear orthotics, we need a neutral shoe. Should not have to guess.

Best money I've spent lately! First, some background, I have rheumatoid arthritis plus have had knee surgery. I was using regular walking shoes from Reebok on a treadmill -- big mistake. I could feel every single vibration through my knees, hips, back and I finally blew the knee out again. While recuperating, I began researching shoes to find a pair that would help protect my joints better and absorb some of the shock from the treadmill -- these made so many Top 10 lists and now that I have them, I know why. They are well-named-it does feel like you're walking on floaty clouds. And I feel zero vibrations from the treadmill now -- so much better on my joints. I am able to go further, longer with these things. I just wish I had done the research and brought these shoes four months ago when I began daily workouts. They are worth every penny, but thanks Zappos for having them on sale! Also, the fit was true-to-size for me.

This shoe was pricey, but it was well worth the extra money. I am a coach and have severe plantar fasciitis. I cannot stand/walk/run for two hours on a gym floor without wincing in pain unless I am wearing a shoe with an extreme amount of cushion -- this "gel" shoe delivers the comfort I need. I have had them for several months, and I'm thinking about purchasing a second pair. The colors are rather bright (I have the wine/white/flash yellow), but I get lots of compliments. The shoe is true to size and width. Mine are only a few months old, but them seem to be holding up well -- but I mostly exercise inside so I'm not sure how they would hold up if I was running outside.

These are amazing running shoes! I am new to running and these were my first athletic pair of tennis shoes. I read several reviews and watched several videos when deciding what pair to invest in and these ranked highest on my list. I have no regrets since ordering them. I have worn them almost daily for over a month and they still feel like I'm walking on air. I run at least 2 miles a day and these shoes ensure that I am able to still walk when I get home. My foot feels fully supported from heel to toe. In shoes I vary between a 9 and 10 so usually play it safe by ordering a 9 1/2. In this case the 9 1/2 was a smidge too small so exchanged them for a 10 and they fit prefect. I would recommend ordering a half or full size up with this shoe. Also, the colors are really cute! Overall this is just an awesome shoe.

I have tried and returned so many shoes including brands like Brooks and Nike. Nothing compared to these shoes. They are worth every penny for comfort. I wear them at work and walking/running. Asics and Saucony are the best brands for comfort/cushioning. You won't be disappointed.

First experience with Asics gel. Love these shoes. I was having heel pain with another (Asics) pair and bought these weeks ago and I longer have heel pain. I did order up 1/2 size recommended and was glad I did, they fit perfect.

Thank you Ladies for writing your reviews. I usually wear a size 6w , but because of the reviews I ordered a 6.5 w...and BINGO. I have wide small feet High arches Narrow heels These fit. And I can lace them so they stay on my heels while I walk. I had a pair of Reeboks, that worked well, but they are OLD and Reebok does not make that sneaker any longer. I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis for months...and finally got enough money to get new sneakers. I hope these help me on my road to recovery. Thank you ZAPPOS for your return policy. :-)

As someone who has is a underpronator and is suffering from plantar fasciitis, these shoes have been great. Not sure on the standard size width, as I bought them in the larger width, which ultimately has tons of room. Great cushioning. Very happy. Just wish they came in some crazy, fun colors like some of the other Asics.

Runs nice but go half size smaller then you would NIKE which I think runs smaller. They seem really great and I hope will aid in healing my athletic daughter's planter fas. problems. I also like that they have good arch support. Very nice looking shoe not overly loud color.

I've been out of running for a few years. I used to wear the Nimbus 12's and loved them. Was trying to decided what to order now that I'm getting back into running. I read the reviews and was torn between the Nimbus 14 and 15's. I ordered them both and am returning the 14's. Definitely like the 15's better! More cushioning, very light and the show fits like a glove. I have a very narrow, long hard to fit foot. These fit fantastic and make me feel like I'm running on air. The shoes were worth every penny! (I did put my own custom insoles in the shoes. I need extra arch support. These didn't have quite enough for me.)

These are terrific - I have had Gel Kahana's in the past. Like these just as well or better. I just use them for casual shoes and walking, but they are worth the money. Great support overall. I can go all day in them. I happen to like the screaming orange but it may not be for everyone. It felt true to size assuming an athletic weight sock.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a version of these shoes with consistent quality. I first ordered a pair in the mint color combo in size 8 which is my usual size in Asics. They were a little long but very cushioned and would have been great except that the left shoe had a large gap between the sole and the inside of the shoe - obvious manufacturing problem. So back they went (Thanks Zappos!). I then thought - okay, my first color choice is not meant to be. I ordered a second pair in the orange in size 8 and my toes hit the end of the shoes. They felt like they were at least a half size too small. Instead of being very cushioned they were hard underfoot. Back they go. I think it may be time to throw in the towel and move on to another brand. Zappos is of course the most fabulous retailer. I am never afraid to try something new because I know returns are not a problem.

What can I say? I've been buying Asics Gel-Nimbus since #6. They're always comfy, like walking on a cloud. I get them because I pronate especially on my left foot. Yay for Asics!

I go through a pair of running shoes twice a year and have found that Asics work the best for me. Great support and comfort. No "breaking in" time needed. I run on the outsides of my feet and these shoes give me good support & balance. This is the second pair of Asics that I've purchased and have had no complaints!

I am on my 3rd pair of these shoes since they first came out (I literally happened on them the day they first came to our local shoe store.) I am in my 30s with several knee surgeries under my belt. The cushioning combined with the support they give me is the best out there. The shoe box is larger which is what I prefer. I am tempted to order a 4th pair for when these wear out. I am not sure I can find a better shoe!

If you need superior forefoot cushioning, these are for you. I have zero shock absorption in my feet and am always on the lookout for comfortable shoes. Asics tend to be good on cushioning, and these are truly top notch. As for color, I prefer shoes that are only one color because I wear an 11 and there's no way to be subtle about it. These are honking bright shoes! I went with the least expensive, but I must admit I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hot pink laces. Well, who could fail to see them?

Awesome shoes! I was wearing the Cumulus, but decided to try these based on reviews. These seem to offer even more cushioning, which feels great. I normally wear an 8 but ordered an 8.5 based on reviews as well. I may try an 8 the next time for comparison. Highly recommend!

Asics does it again. I have tried other sneakers but they are the only ones that I can comfortably exercise in. I exercise at home doing aerobics step aerobics yoga and Pilates, and I find Asics are the most comfortable sneakers. I wear between nine and a 9 1/2 but find that would be Asics I always order a 9 1/2.

I love Asics, I've been wearing them for 20+ years! This pair seems to run just a tad smaller than the other running Asics I have worn. I currently have 3 pairs, and my toes touch the ends of this size 8, but not my other non nimbus pairs.

I am a beginner when it comes to running but this shoe is very comfortable. I bought it because a running shoe website recommended it for the cushioning. The colors are really loud but I needed function not style so these work well.
