Had the longer version before, but out of stock when my parents went to re-order it for me. It's attractive, well made, but my ears are cold when I wear it!

Keeps ears warm while sledding with my grandson!

I recommend this hat to anyone with a head.

I wear this when it is too cold outside for my bare head.

Just bought the Standard Issue Beanie for work. As a police officer, I am in and out in the elements quite a bit and the issued gear doesn't always cut it. This beanie fits perfectly, just the way I like it - just above the eyebrows, covers the ears with just the lobes sticking out, and the back of the neck to top of my jacket. My only complaints are about the colors. Department regs are pretty strict and I've gotten a couple of comments. The black is more of a faded black and we are not allowed any logos. It would be great if you offered a subdued version in which the logo was the same color as the beanie. I'm sure there are a lot more public servants out there with similar regulations.

I work on the U.S. - Canadian border in New England at a windy port. Sometimes our duty-issued gear is just not adequate. North Face's simple black hat is warm, sporty and professional looking. I've been buying your products for 25 years, the first purchase was a ski jacket while I was student at UVM. Thanks North Face. Keep the new products coming.

Very warm, very well assembled for the coldest of weather (I wear it to work in -20F degrees), but it does not cover my ears in their entirety. if it were an inch or two longer, I would consider it the best hat ever.

I just purchased the lg/xlg black standard issue beanie and I am very happy with the way the hat fits, feels, and functions. What I am not happy with is that the color which is suppose to be black appears to be a faded black

Way too small. It barely reaches your ears. I returned this item.

Bought this to match my black North Face jacket. Bought the L / XL and it is very tight. I wear a 7 1/2 hat so did not expect this. I hope it stretches out or I won't be wearing it much.

I bought one last year and it was the best hat I'd ever owned. I was always happy with The North Face and though that for winter gear I'd never need to look any further. I lost my last one and went back to get the same thing at Scheel's last night and the L/X is absolutely not the same size as it was last year. Why!? Very disappointed, probably just going to sell all of my The North Face gear if I can't find a hat that fits. Seems like a small issue (no pun intended) but why would they make it smaller? I'm not that big of a guy so I feel you really can't call this Extra Large if it won't fit me, I know a lot of guys with bigger heads than my own.

I was excited to get a matching Black hat for my new Morph Jacket, I was wearing a black Columbia hat that fitted me well. However I wanted it to match. Upon receiving the item I was quite pleased with the material and color. But the hat is TOO SMALL! This type of hat must be able to cover just above the eye brows all the way down the bottom of the ear lobes. This hat failed my expectations, TNF must reassess this sizing issue and fix this problem.

Seems like a good quality hat but for a Men's L/XL it is way too small. Seems like company needs to make an XXL or XXXL to fit a normal man's head......This is the challenge I always have with finding a winter hat.......probably women or girls designing clothes for men and thinking they understand ......
