Cozy and warm

Somehow, my attention was directed online to Jim Beanie at half price, in a color I don't often see. Another color, which was nearly white was also on sale. Living near a North Face store (which I had never visited), I went to have a first hand look, since I wasn't familiar with the Jim Beanie, and because fabric colors often don't photograph well for online imagesand I've been disappointed more than once. In person, the Jim Beanie looks great. The heather knit is very well donein such a way that would make this beanie appropriate in a number of settings. The fit and coverage was great, and I like the synthetic fleece forehead liner, even though I tend to avoid synthetics on the skin, and they give the impression of being quite durable. But the colors and their names in the store didn't match what I had seen online. By the time I got home the white one was gone, but I ordered the light tan one and had it sent to the store. If the color didn't work out, one of the ones in stock (aqua/turquiose) at the store looked like a good fallback. When the order came in, it turned out to be perfectly represented online, so I kept it, and took the aqua/turquoise as well. I have a respectable hat collection, and these two have become my overnight favoritesin not just color, but fit, coverage, warmth, comfort, and looks in general. Most of all, I can tell that by the time they wear out (and they all do) I'll miss them. Good work, North Face!
