I was looking for a pair of sandals that would be as comfortable and hold up as well as my Chacos (designed for walking/hiking for long periods) but look stylish enough for European streets. This shoe does both very well, although after a year of wearing them quite often the very front, under the toe, has worn away in an unattractive fashion. I still wear them, it doesn't affect performance, they just are more of a casual sandal now. The are surprisingly comfortable for how thin the sole is. I wish it was only a tad thicker in the front (to deal with the sole loss issue I mentioned) or somehow that could be protected against better because even after walking several hundred miles in them the rest of the sandal still looks (and feels) amazing. My mom borrowed them, and was apprehensive when I said they were super comfortable. She put them on and completely agreed, as have the friends who have borrowed them. They pack nicely, keep their color well, and the leather is butter soft so I've never had any rubbing issues anywhere on the sandal, even around the toe loop. They get slippery when it's wet, both on the pavement and if you get the actual shoe wet, but that seems to be mild enough you can deal with it alright. I just try not to get them wet (standard for leather anyway). People say they look like Jesus sandals - only really classy Jesus sandals. I mean, Jesus was pretty happy all the time, maybe he was wearing these sandals.

The shoe color pictured (chocolate brown) in the advertisement is not a reasonable representation of the actual shoe color. Instead of the rich, dark-brown color pictured, the actual shoe color is a pinkish, milk chocolate brown, which cheapens the overall look of the sandal. The leather felt soft and the cushioned foot-bed is a definite plus, but I'm returning the shoes because of the color.

This is my year after year MUST HAVE sandal. For the past 7+ years I have been buying the Gia in just about every color I can find. My recent purchase, Platino Stardust finish, shows off my tanned skin nicely. The styling is classic and I am always receiving compliments on my footwear. The cross over straps are flattering and the toe loop is comfortable. I wear these with shorts, capris, skirts and maxi dresses. These work perfectly for casual or semi-dressy so at least one pair is always tossed in the suitcase for trips/vacation.

I love, love this sandal. This last order is my fourth Gia. I walked all over Italy with a brown Gia and when I returned home ordered a black pair. Since then I have ordered a platino and adobe rose.

Fit and size were ideal. Returning because the color "Platino" online appeared more platinum/silver/pewter in nature but was in reality BRIGHT GOLD.

These are my favorite sandals in the history of sandals. I have one pair in black, and just ordered a second pair in black (to stash for when these ones wear out), as well as the brown ones (on sale!). I find them really comfortable (walk around NYC all day with no problems), and love that they don't have much of a heel.

Super cute, but I have a narrow foot, and don't have a high instep, so the straps were really lose. These are the same style as another pair of expensive shoes, so the style is great for the money, but not good for narrow feet...

I loved everything about this sandal - it was versatile (the almondine color goes with everything), very comfortable for a cute sandal, and I love the style. I wore it a lot, but just for 1 season. The quality isn't great, which is the sole reason for my critical review. The suede straps are made of two pieces - suede and a manmade lining glued together. Those separated. The footbed also started separating from the sole a bit, and the material flaked off at the toe. Loved the sandal but was disappointed it only lasted a season.

How much do I love these sandals? Enough to buy a second pair, despite having purchased other new Greek sandals at the beginning of the season. I originally bought a black pair of Gias two years ago, and I wore them ALL. THE. TIME. I wore them with dresses, shorts, and breezy pants. I wore them to work, to the grocery store, to weekend getaways, and to other continents. They molded to my foot, gave me enough (but not tons of) support, and were so stylish that I wore them until they literally fell apart, forcing me to toss them earlier this year. I bought another brand/style of Greek sandals afterwards, but I just kept comparing them to the Franco Sarto Gias. So I pulled the trigger, got a second pair of black Gias two weeks ago, and am happy again. Once I break them in (I wear them after putting a little coconut oil on the top of my foot to soften them), they will be back in heavy rotation like before. I know that my style should evolve, and I might be that old lady wearing Gias while zooming around on my electric scooter, but I just don't care. THESE SANDALS ROCK.

I'm really glad I bought these sandals. I purchased the black ones. They go with most of my clothes, for work or just hanging out. I was surprised by how comfortable they are. I have worn them for walking in the city and had no problems. I thought I would have rubbing from the toe loop and back strap, but none of that. Very happy with my purchase.

I would have loved these forever except that they don't last very long. The style is great, but the front of the shoe gets scuffed and ruined with just a few months' wear. They fit beautifully, I ordered another pair and the same thing happened. I would really love to get them again based on all these things, but I can't justify the cost for something that doesn't last. Coincidentally my sister and I ordered the same pair and she had the same problem and has had to talk me down from wanting to order them again. So, if they could make them a little sturdier on the front (toe) end I might give them another try.

A classic that can be worn forever. They are much more comfortable than most flat sandals. The leather gets very soft with wear. The band around the foot means no gripping or sliding as you walk. Happy to find a replacement pair for my old pair that I wore several years until they finally bit the dust!

This is the second pair I've purchased. I love the neutrality and they look a bit Bohemian. Very happy....again!

This shoe is absolutely gorgeous. Can be dressed up or down, and does offer support. I advise to order a half size up and a wider width than normal for those ordering this shoe. I have many Franco shoes for work, and always buy an 8M. I needed an 8.5W with this shoe, and probably could have even used a 9!

Very comfortable. I would order a half size larger than you usually wear, only because it felt a little short.

The "Jesus" sandal is so comfortable I forget I have them on. You may wonder, how can such a flat sandal be "comfortable?" I don't know, it's a miracle ... like the half-empty Welch's Grape Juice in the fridge that turned itself into wine after sitting around for weeks and weeks. And like my kid not needing glasses anymore! Although I can't explain those 12 people that keep following me around.

Great fit, nice cushy footbed, better that some “hard”, flat sandals.

I ordered these based on the many reviews that said they were comfortable sandals. These did not disappoint. They are going to look great this spring and summer and I can't wait to show them off. They were the perfect size and very comfortable. I'm thinking about ordering another pair in a different color because it's hard to find comfortable shoes in a wide width. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The Gia by Franco Sarto is absolutely the best sandal I've ever purchased. The style is very attractive and I receive complements on them every time I wear them! They are unbelievably comfortable and fit properly without rubbing or pinching. Like others, I have worn several pairs out and continue to wear them around the house or doing chores. I have every color and have re-purchased colors two or three times again. As long as these are available I will be purchasing them!

I ordered these sandals after seeing a friend wear them in a different color. They are more on the casual side but they are super cute and comfortable. I walked around the mall about 4 hours with these on and it didn't hurt my feet. It fit my feet perfectly and I can slip in and out of them without unbuckling so it should fit those with narrow feet should have no problem getting in and out of these shoes.

Love, love, love these sandals! Specifically bought Franco Sarto because they never let me down. They are worth every penny and I highly recommend them. Breaking them in for my up coming trip to Italy!

I am glad I purchased these sandals. I like the simple design and the quality of the leather. They are very comfortable. I do quite a bit of walking and have found that the sole is flexible and the toe ring fits properly. The color is closer to a medium brown, not as deep as a chocolate bar. I have been wearing these on casual Fridays and weekends.
