I had been doing the insanity workouts, and my feet were getting sore. I had been wearing just the plain Nike free runners, and I really didn't think that my shoes could be the problem. I was wrong. Feet sore no more, these are great shoes for intense jumping type workouts. I suppose you could wear them for anything, but that's how I use mine. They fit me very well, and they are super comfortable. They are more form fitting than regular tennis shoes, more narrow, no tongue, more ankle support etc.

These are some great kicks with a unique design. Very comfortable, lightweight and supportive. I picked up the platinum ones which look white in the pics but are more of a light gray to off white color. This works for me because I can never keep white shoes clean! Free next day shipping is also killer! Every time I use Zappos it's awesome!

The Fit: Sneakers fits just about true to size to about a quarter size larger. Note if you have wide feet this sneaker does not contain a tongue and has a narrow opening, you may want to try out multiple sizes. With thick socks it takes some forte to put them on luckily the sneaker does contain a very sturdy pull-tab. The lacing system marketed as a "Chinese finger trap" works nicely and provides a very nice snug fit. The shoes upper sole section is very flexible, the mid-section and back section are stiff and offer little lateral flexibility if any. Performance & Comfort: Performing calisthenics and plyometric activities the sneakers provide good support, comfort and felt snug. Under steep downhill running my feet didn't slide in the shoe like they do in other sneakers, however, under tiptoe conditions in Yoga they did slide. During yoga I was wishing for more lateral and total sole flexibility so Yoga fans you may want to consider a more flexible sneaker like the Nike Free Trainer 3.0. Note: Nike numbering system implies level of flexibility with 1.0 running barefoot and 10.0 being a regular sneaker, as of this writing 3.0 are the most flexible version of Free Trainers currently offered. Recommendations: I highly recommend these sneakers for general walking, aerobics, plyometric, and even short distance running/jogging. The sneakers provide a middle ground between flexibility and support. For Yoga enthusiast, you may want more flexibility and may want to cross shop with the Free Trainer 3.0.

This is a gorgeous looking shoe, but unfortunately it made my feet sore during Insanity workouts. Pros: I love the criss-cross pattern. I figured the basket weave construction would help hold and support my feet during lateral movements. The heel cushioning is great. Cons: I was getting sore feet during the workouts. Unfortunately, these shoes made it worse compared to my old Nike running shoes. I know Nikes tend to run narrow, but was never a problem for me. I have owned several pairs of Nike Frees and really like them. However, these lack good padding in the forefoot, even by Nike Free standards. The toe box was so cramped that 123-123 and Heisman type lateral movements made my feet sore. It has great laterally hold in the shoe's upper, but the base is so narrow that it causes the foot to cramp. I want to like these so much, but alas I have to try something else.

Poorly designed shoe. Feet hurt every time I wear these shoes. Our entire coaching staff received a pair of these shoes and no one likes them. We all have complained how they have little support and feet will hurt after wearing them. I would not recommend these shoes to anyone.

This is a very comfortable shoe. It was a little tight the first couple of days but after breaking them in they feel like socks with a sole.

I don't usually write reviews, but these shoes and Zappos' LIGHTING FAST shipping deserve it. These shoes feel light, yet give me the arch support I was looking for. The design is very cool and eye-catching. Extremely comfortable and perfect for my Zumba workouts. I am a very happy camper. Thanks Zappos!

I typically wear a 11W in dress shoes so I expected that a size 11 in these sneakers would be fine. However, they were extremely tight and I had to return them (I am new to Zappos and the ease of the return process blew my mind). Once I bumped up to the 11.5, there was an immediate difference in comfort. To be sure, they were still snug and felt odd at first but after two weeks of running and breaking them in, They are a dream. I recommend these shoes highly.

I am an avid Shaun T workout guy. I have do a lot of Insanity and I am currently in the middle of Focus T25. I work out in my living room which has laminate wood flooring and it can be inherently slick, so I really need a shoe that grips well and has very good lateral support and grip. This shoe fit the bill. It keeps me very planted and I do not worry about slipping in the middle of some serious maneuvers. The Free Trainer 5.0 is a bit more stiff than the 3.0 and also my last shoe which was the Flex Supreme TR. Still flexible, though compared to a tennis shoe. This is to my advantage because I am a larger guy and my ankles require support for now. After I've lost some more weight and I am a lot more agile, I may go down to the Free Trainer 3.0 to have more of a barefoot, flexible feel. The fit is like a glove and the cushioning is fantastic. Again, this is a big deal for me with my Insanity workouts. As a bigger guy (6'1" / 190lbs), I need to cushion the high impact stuff at least until I've lost a bit more weight. As far as looks, this shoes is f'ing gorgeous. Just pure unadulterated energy, but with a sense of good design. Clean, simple, energetic. Very happy with them.

These pairs of shoes are the MOSTEST REVOLUTIONARIESTEST shoes in the universe! Why you may ask? Remember the old flap in front of your antique workout shoes that keeps slipping in and getting folded in annoying ways? These shoes do away with that old technology and fit snuggly around your feet. They're great for general gym workouts. Though they're marked as training shoes, the soles are a bit softer than I expected, so when doing very heavy squats, it'll require some more stabilizing effort on your part. Aside from that, they're great.

Great looking shoe, but runs small. I will be exchanging for a half size bigger. My husband loves them aside from the size issue!

I work out at 9 Round fitness (boxing, kickboxing, etc) which is a circuit training-like workout. I've struggled to find the right shoes until I bought these. Love these shoes!!

Great sneaker. Pricey but worth it. I have in (3) colors. Very comfortable. A little tight at the beginning but once they conform to your foot it feels like you are barefoot. Highly recommend!

These shoes are great. I haven't worn them a ton but they are very supportive, cushioned, and fit well. I bought these to satisfy a few needs, including playing basketball, working out, and lots of walking when traveling. Cross trainers such as these seem to be the best multi-purpose sneaker. I also looked at CrossFit sneakers, but opted not for them because the soles are too thin. While that is good for cross fit, I feared bad for lots of walking. I wanted a more cushioned heel, which these definitely have.

The fit is perfect. I have been wearing Nike for years, and these fit the way they were designed, snug to your foot and perfect for training. They are super light and the soles are very flexible, so you'll get a lot of feedback through the shoe regarding what you are stepping on. I have been wearing them during the day, and have to say they aren't stellar in terms of arch support. I like the tongue-less design and little pull hook on the heel, making them easier to put on. I typically stick to Nike, but normally gravitate to the best value. So I'd buy them again if they were to go on sale again. Style wise, I like the shoe for everything but the red heel. Had they continued the black all the way around the shoe, I would give the style mark a 5.

I am very impressed with my Nike free trainers as a product. I'm more impressed with Zappos the supplier if this product. Everyone know that Nike is one of the best products what they don't know is how good of a business Zappos is. - A returning customer

Great shoes! Very stable and light. Perfect for plyometrics, but not great for running. If I'm going to run more than two miles, I put on my running shoes.

I use this sneaker for cross training 4 times a week. I've enjoyed its snug, supportive but very light features. My foot is very narrow , but the tube like engineering and lacing system give me a good fit.

I stand on my feet for many hours a day. These are the first sneakers that fit like slippers, but have the support of boots. They are very lightweight.

Super comfortable, they fit tight but they are meant to. Plenty of support for any athletic activity, and the bottom on these seems much more durable than the Free Run 5.0 overall love this shoe and already planning on buying another pair in a different color.

Not like Nike needs any help selling shoes, but these are probably my favorite cross trainers ever, or even shoes in general.
