Good looking shoe which in theory would be a great biking shoe. However, they're poorly-made garbage, and mine started to fall apart after 3 months after use exactly as designed. I wore them exclusively for biking to work (14 miles round trip), then moderate walking around work. The rubber surround for the sole is already separating, meaning they'll leak like sieves as soon as the rain starts, then completely fall apart shortly after. Complete junk. Buy something else.

I've looking for a tough casual pair of shoes to ride my bike around town and hang out at the bars. These are it. I chose the black with white sole for a more classic look. They are very well made and the canvas is reinforced and water-resistant. I have slim feet and the shoes feel a little large (I'm a 10.5). I put slim foam insoles and they fit perfectly now. They've become my everyday summer shoes. Highly recommend!

I don’t rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with theses shoes that I felt like I had to! I bought them to use as commuter bike shoes, they have a great stiff sole that makes pedaling far more efficient. BUT most importantly (to me) they don’t bother my feet AT ALL. I have very wide, bony feet and I usually have a really hard time finding shoes that don’t give me blisters (Vans, Converse, Keds..) these have been AWESOME! I’ve ridden about 50 miles since I got them and zero issues or discomfort ???? They feel like a good quality, sturdy shoe that I’m sure will hold up should I skid out. Very happy with my purchase! Also, they are a nice looking casual shoe ?? OH, and I was super happy to find them in my size. It was surprisingly hard to find the style of shoe I was looking for in a size that would fit a woman’s 7 (order men’s 5.5)

I purchased these because they were on sale at a Chrome store in Colorado. I needed a new city-biking shoe and these seemed to fit well with that! This summer I rode my bicycle from Florida to California using only these shoes! Roughly 3,000 miles peddled with them and they held up through storms and wind and unforgiving sun. After a bout a month the little red chrome rubber piece fell off but it was no big deal. They were extremely comfortable on my 80 mile ride days! The sun did bleach them a bit and now they are an off-black color but I like that they are worn in. Truly a great shoe for biking!

I used these as my only shoes on a 3500 cross continent bike trip Summer 2015. I used them on regular pedals with simple plastic cages. They were excellent, and contrary to another reviewer's opinion, the soles are somewhat stiffer than sneakers, though not rigid. They were comfortable and not weird looking off the bike as well. I did modify them, adding grommet holes like on Converse All Stars to make them a little cooler (temperature, not style). I highly recommend them for bike touring, especially if you want to go ultralight and use a single pair of shoes 24/7.

NOT STIFF. Don't buy it hoping for a stiff bike shoe. This shoe is sometimes described as a bike shoe or messenger shoe with a stiff sole. Nice looking but NO, not stiff-soled at all. Not stiff in the least. I'm at a total loss to understand how anyone thinks it's stiff. It's just a sneaker.

Used these for a 5 day, 120 mile trek across Switzerland. The shoes were very comfortable with the exception that they felt a bit narrow. My feet are a lot wider than most, so this is no fault of the shoe. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

These shoes are great. They cost more that the DVS and Vans ones I have but they are far better for biking, and the cordura seems thick and stronger than canvas. The insole is really comfortable and the stiffness of the sole is solid for pushing the pedals. I commute to work, 5-10 miles depending on the route and they immediately felt better on my rides. Walking in them isn't bad at all, they don't feel overly stiff when I walk through the city on lunch. These are worth the extra money.

he only issue I have with this shoe is the sizing. I normally wear a 10.5 in US Mens, so I ordered this shoe in 10.5 despite one review stating I should consider otherwise. I found that the shoe I got felt like an 11 so I got an exchange for a size 10. And that fit almost a little too small, but I got used to it, or wore it in, or whatever...Anyway, its perfect fit-wise now. The general comfort is good. I bought these shoes because I have a short commute to work and school so I ride a fixed-gear bike with toe-cages/straps. I can tear up a pair of shoes in a few months this way because the cages will wear them down. I figured these shoes would do better because they were made with the same material as the Chrome Bags, of which I had one that lasted about 8 years. I haven't had them that long but the construction seems very sturdy and I am appreciative of the fairly minimal aesthetics of the shoes (except for the symbol). Other than having a larger than usual 10.5, I am really liking these shoes. They feel very comfortable on and off my bike after they've been worn in. *Note: These shoes are ones that do squeak when wet and on tile floors... in case you're wondering and that's a concern and that's something you notice about shoes that makes you feel a little weird. You are weird but so am I.

They've been great. I wish, however, that because they are built for biking, if they had a tie down for the laces.

These are good sneaks for biking. I didn't realize how much support they offer until, after using them for a couple of weeks, went for a ride in my converse all stars. Biking with these is like having your food in a comfortable, stable platform. They are comfortable to wear just walking around too. I wasn't crazy about the red chrome logo on the side so i blacked that out with a marker. They could be a little less expensive I suppose but overall, if you bike a lot (I commute to work), they are much better than wearing regular sneakers or dress shoes. And they are smaller profile wise so you will need to tighten the pedal clips a little bit. Buy a half size smaller.

The first pair I bought was a little larger than marked. After a month of bike commuting with metal toe clips in these shoes they only have minor amounts of wear. The metal shim in the sole helps keep your foot stable as you pedal. While they're very comfortable for cycling my feet get tired when I am standing or walking for long periods.

I got these to replace some bike shoes that are wearing out. They're pretty good looking in regards to styling; however, the midpoint of the shoe isn't very rigid at all and they also felt about a half size too large. If they had been more rigid I probably would have kept them despite them being a bit too large, but the lack of rigidity was a deal breaker so I'm returning them.

As a fan of Chrome bags, and as somebody for whom biking has torn up many cheap, low-top sneakers, I was excited to purchase a stylish sneaker with a water-resistant upper and a reinforced mid to help ease the burden of pedals on my arches. My first purchase was thankfully accepted in an exchange for a half-size smaller by Zappos, as my heel kept slipping out when attempting to bike with these shoes in my normal size. When the exchange came, I put on a few reinforcing bandaids and tried them on around the office, where I am active as a customer service specialist, but not rigorously so. By the end of the day, I could barely walk. When I took them off at home, I noticed that despite my best efforts, my feet was bloody with blisters under the protective bandages. I'm going to try some new tactics toward breaking in these shoes, as I am past the point of no return with an exchange, but please be careful when wearing these shoes for the first time. They really do look nice, though, and are built based on a terrific concept.

Not a bad shoe, slightly wide. Versatile and good feel, I walked quite a bit around France in them, but they squeak! Don't try sneaking around in them.

I really like the look of these shoes, but they are very narrow which makes them extremely uncomfortable. I'd recommend looking at something else if you have wide feet. Try the DZR shift instead if you want something similar.

I have been commuting to work for 2½ years on my Surly Crosscheck with platform pedals. I have always used Five Ten brand shoes with no problems. I decided I liked the look of the Chrome Truk grey shoes, bought them, and had worn them twice while not on the bike before my first ride with them. The other morning I put on my Chrome Truk shoes, grabbed my bike, and headed to work for my first ride with said shoes. I hit a small pothole, my left shoe slipped off the pedal, and I proceeded to crash. I shattered my navicular bone in my foot into roughly 50 pieces and am going in for surgery on Thursday. They are going to try to repair the bone and fuse the joint. The surgeon said I will never be able to run, but luckily will be able to transition back into biking in six months if everything goes well. On top of all that my shiny new shoes are all torn up. I know that this is probably not the shoe's fault and just coincidence that it was my first ride with them, but I cannot help but think that my foot would not have slipped off the pedal had I been wearing my trusty Five Tens. The Five Tens seem to have much grippier rubber and once I can start riding again in six months will be what I wear exclusively from now on. If fashion is all you care about the Truks will work. If you want your shoes to stay on the pedals, get something else.

I bought these shoes because Chrome has a reputation for quality products, and I hoped that their sneakers would be durable. Boy was I wrong. Within a week of wearing these shoes, the sole started to part with the rest of the shoe. Within a month the, the entire back of the shoe (on both) began to rip in half. You could get the same quality of shoes at Payless for a quarter the price. I would not recommend these shoes to anyone, unless you plan on wearing them only once.
