I got these boots about a week ago for an upcoming long vacation to Ireland. We will be doing lots of exploring and I wanted to make sure my feet were dry! They are absolutely adorable in person - I love the dots and the buckle on the side adds a nice detail. However, I got these based on other reviews that they were "wide calf". I tried them on without jeans and they fit just fine around my calves, but with jeans on they are just too tight, even on the last buckle! Total bummer. Also, they are really heavy but will pack nicely because they fold over. I would love to keep them but afraid they are going to have to go back. So sad because they are so cute!

These boots are too large in the calves for me. (I am 5'4" and 110lbs.) I was sorry to return them. They are super cute in person.

These are really cute boots....BUT they are not big enough to wear with pants tucked in which kind of defeats the purpose.

I loved these when I got them....cute and cheerful for rainy days. But after one season (and I don't wear them year-round) the insoles came adrift, and one boot sprung a leak. :( So much for rain boots. Out they go, and I'll try a different brand. Disappointed.

These are terrible! Do not purchase them! First off, they made super loud sounds where ever I walked because the calf part of the boot was so big, which I thought would be a plus because I have big calfs, but the noise was terrible, walking through the library at school was horrible. Second off, the insoles are removable, but how about they should be slip proof and not break down after three times of using, I would wear them for a walk to class and the insoles would work their way half way from under my feet. I bought Dr. Scholl's insoles and they were so much better and did not slip around. Third, less then one year I had these, and it does not rain that often in Nebraska so I did not wear them much, and a huge hole in the middle of my walk in a huge rain storm, which then lets all the rain in. The hole was where the Chooka label is on the back of the left boot. Forth, the lining on the inside completely comes undone off of the sides of the boots inside. The back of your heel the lining completely ripped out, so my heel was rubbing up against the rubber part and no lining, which completely tore holes in all my socks I wore with the boots. This happened like four times after wearing them, I was mad about that but still continued to wear because I spent so much money and I needed rain boots I am so in ahhhh at these boots, they seem so sturdy and reliable but they are not! Water does not get inside the boots, but when water gets around or you step in a puddle your feet get freezing. I would not recommend these to anyone.

I loved my chooka boots for about 1.5 years...probably got 20-30 good wears out of them in that time frame (walking maybe 5-10 blocks each time to and from work, and maybe, 1-2 walks to the park, etc -- no running around in them though). Then, suddenly the entire boot (both feet in fact) started to rip apart from the seams -- with long sections along the side seams where the ankle portion meets the sole -- just tearing away (a slashed cut appearance) from the sole. I walked to work that day with feet soaking wet, and when I lifted my foot up out of the boot, I could see the white lining of the inside part of the boot from the outside looking down. It peeked through the seam. Needless to say, that money I spent a little over a year ago was a huge waste. Not sure when I'll muster up the courage to invest in rainboots again (which I need like crazy, but see as somewhat of a luxury item for the price)...one thing is for sure -- I will not buy this brand again. Seems to be a pattern based on other reviews I read above.

I usually take a 7 1/2 medium and and barely make it in a regular calf size boot. I ordered an 8 since they come in full sizes only. The boot was too big in the foot and the calf. They were flopping around on me. I returned them and probably won't get the 7 because the foot will be too small. These boots will be a problem for those who are a true half size foot, but no problem for those with large calves.
