This is my second pair of this style of Lowa boots. The first simply fell apart after 18 years of heavy wear! They are the best, and very cute, too! I purchased my first pair on a ski trip in Switzerland. I had never heard of the brand! I spent a lot of money! That was an unheard of expense at that time, but it turned out to be worth every penny! Please do yourself a huge favor if you live somewhere that gets a reasonable amount of snow. Buy these boots!

Well, the other reviews are perfectly correct about how gorgeous, well made, and comfortable these are. They are expensive but for the quality they have this price is cheap, so you will get what you pay for and beyond! You will not need a break in period, I have tried four other brands before these, and nothing! I am so happy that I found these boots, I am walking The Camino de Santiago for 35 days 500 miles next month and I cannot wait, with my great boots. Oh, the white leather lining is so cute and feminine. I am a white lover so... I am using the SmartWool mountaineer socks and they are perfect with them, Each boot weights 1 pound 7 ounce. Not light weight but they feel light and you do not notice the weight at all. Best of all, Zappos is the greatest place to shop! There is no place like Zappos. Their customer service personnel is about and beyond! Thank you, Zappos!

This boot is so expensive but, if you can afford it, it is such outstanding quality and so well made, it is worth it. The Mauria LL Flex WS is made in Germany. Note: the WS means womens - not wide. I will say, I did have to try on several different pairs, (all same size and style) to get a good fit. I have to do the same when purchasing Dansko's so I am not new to this process, but it is a bit frustrating to have to order several pairs to get a good fit. Thank you Zappos; you are the best customer service!! Once I found a good fit, it was amazing. Yes, they are hiking boots, and pretty serious ones at that. I will say I am not a hiker, but wanted these boots for their beauty, quality, the Vibram soles in bad weather as the boots are also waterproof (have not tried that to confirm, but I have no doubt they are), not to mention the comfortable, yet stable ankle support. I believe these boots will last for many, many years. If you are a hiker, you will not be disappointed. If you have a wider foot or a more volume foot, you may have trouble with the width. My biggest complaint was sizing (as mentioned above). Thankfully I was able to get the right fit. I also like that they are NOT giant looking or manly looking on my feet. For boots, they look attractive. These boots are hard to find, so if you see your size, grab them and give them a try. Beautifully made by skilled craftsmen, using high-end and quality material, which is rarer and rarer these days.

A previous reviewer said it well; my first pair of Lowa boots were more like sneakers, and I still love and wear them. This style is a more serious boot. I find that my regular size is just right (7B), but there is a lot of toe room. That is actually what I look for! I am looking forward to going into winter with these on my feet.

Comfy boot. Because it is leather lined it seems to really mold to your foot. They are waterproof and sturdy. Just a great looking boot. I tried a lot of boots, other boots have a more sneaker like style and I didn't want that.

Not only a beautifully made boot, it is very comfortable. My normal size is a 10, but you didn't offer a 10, so C/S said, "try the 9.5, it can't hurt," and to my surprise it fit better than my own size. A well made shoe, and very nice looking as well. 5 Stars for Lowa.

Love these boots; spent a week breaking them in around my neighborhood, and they were comfortable from day one. I love that they’re slim and stylish enough to wear around town.

I have had Lowas for years and was ready for another pair. These do not disappoint. They fit true to size and molded to my foot rather quickly. Heavier than my old boots but also have more support in the ankle area; an arch support still allows plenty of room in the toe box. Great for a variety of terrains from the Grand Canyon to MN trails. I highly recommend the Mauria if you are considering a sturdy hiking boot without a lot of bulk.

The size equivalency chart is totally wrong. I am usually a US 7, and a 37 to 37.5 EURO. They recommend a 39 EURO as a 7 US. I settled on a 6.5 US and got a 37 EURO. GREAT boot that are good for moderate to steep hiking, just short of the next model that you could take to Everest.

This is my second pair of Lowa Hiking boots in 8 years. My last pair, the Lowa Renegade GTX, remain a functioning pair, however, sometimes I leave them at the back door and they get wet from rain, so I decided to buy a 'back up' pair. The Mauria LL Flex are amazing! Most days I wear medium Smartwool socks and my feet are very comfortable in the Mauria Lowa boot. Recently, in a hurry, I wore a thin pair of socks on a two hour hike and while my foot did not feel snug in the boot, I didn't get one blister. These boots are lightweight, flexible, and yet, sturdy on the bottom and around the ankle where most needed. I hike through woods and muddy creek bottom areas and Lowa boots keep my feet dry. The Mauria does not disappoint!

Painful in arch area...good for someone with high arches but that's not me!
Also, disconcerting to receive an obviously previously worn boot! Never experienced that before with Zappos, disappointing!

Size down! These are a great fitting boot. Very light and easily adjustable with the lacing system. I normally wear a size 8 in Lowa hiking boots but had to size down to a 7.5 for this one.
