These shoes are great! I broke my ankle in 2011 and needed a sturdy hiking boot. These provide support for not only my ankle, but for my foot itself. I love these boots and they make me want to hike more!

Vasque is the boot to go to for me; this is the 4th pair in 20 yrs for this 80 yr old gal. Nice style, good fit, altho I had to get a 1/2 size larger this time. Perhaps my feet are expanding over the years! I'm very happy and look forward to wearing them on my trip to France this fall.

I loved these shoes, the feel of them, the look of them and hated to return them but my feet are just too wide! Very sad for me!

GREAT ankle support. Color (I bought the red/maroon ones)- color runs/ rubs off a little onto socks. Great shoes. for Womens, order 1 size up. Love them.

I bought a size bigger (i am usually 7.5- I bought 8.5) Perfect. first hike was 4 miles in woods. Didn't even feel it on my ankles. Very comfortable. Arch support is good 9/10, not perfect 10. But better than any shoe. My husband bought the men's same. but NOT a size bigger.

Boots well made. My favorite hiking boot mfgr, however, they have changed the women's last, such that even "wide" is medium. Having tried multiple years to secure wide high arched breathable boots from V, may now be stumped.

These are too narrow at the widest part of my foot which is the span right below my toes. I even ordered wide width. The chunky tongue felt uncomfortable with the boots laced tight.

These are too narrow for being marked as regular width! They squeezed the balls of my feet so bad that my toes went numb. I walked in them for just 15 minutes before that happened. They would be perfect if you have narrow feet. Keen hiking boots fit great in their regular width, so I went with them (amazing comfort, many miles hiked) I'd never had my toes go numb from a boot before- I adjusted the laces a few times and it still happened!

I tried on many pairs of boots (my last pair, ASOLO, fell apart after 20 years) before I finally decided on this boot - and many sizes as well. They do run narrow, so the W width is actually more like a M width (which all the retailers seem to be aware of this). These were a little heavier-duty boot than I originally wanted (I tried several Merrell models), but turns out for the best as my recent hiking trip to Scotland was more challenging and way rougher trails than I expected. These are good quality hiking boots. I wore a day pack (not full backpack), but trudged through very rocky trails up and down mountains, through many wet and muddy bogs (they held true to the waterproof claim), up to 7.5 hours a day. I was wearing leg gaiters too so when my foot went up to mid-calf in a bog, water was not able to leak in through the top of the boot either. ALSO, they broke in pretty quickly. I wore them on about 10-15 miles of dog walks before my trip and they were nice and broken in after that. The only reason i'm not giving 5 stars is that I started to develop a painful corn on my left pinky toe by mid-week. I think because there is a bump inside the boot on that side. I think there could have been a bit more cushioning also because the soles are heavy duty enough for very rocky terrain, yet my feet were a bit banged up by end of trip. That is probably a personal preference because it is good to be able to feel the rocks for more sure-footedness.

I have hiked close to 400 miles in these boots in the two months I've had them and have really enjoyed them. The boots run small, so I purchased a pair a half size larger than my normal size and they fit great. The boots give me fantastic ankle support, great traction on rocky trails, are breathable, move with my feet, and are super comfy. There was no break-in period at all.
I only gave the boot 4 stars because they are NOT waterproof as advertised. Even small creek crossings of several inches have had water coming into my boot through the lace area and when hiking through wet grasses after it had rained, my boots soaked all the way through and soaked my socks as well. After one particular short 3 mile hike with wet grasses on the trail, my socks were so soaked I was able to wring water out of the right sock. I like the boots well enough, though, to accommodate them not being waterproof by wearing seal skin or Gortex socks on wet hikes. But if you're a puddle jumper and want true waterproof boots, I'd look elsewhere.

I ordered this hiking boot in a wide to replace my old pair which are a bit narrow across the ball of my foot and the toe box. These are still to narrow so I am returning them. I did like my old Vasque hikers so am disapointed that the wide just feels a bit looser in the heel. The people who made my orthodics say I have a narrow foot and normally I don't wear wide shoes. I like a stiffer more supportive hiker and the Vasque boots are that.

Very comfortable hiking boot! Owned a pair of Lowa boots which were not as flexible or comfortable. Vasque has also improved the shoelace hooks - instead of plastic they are now metal (the plastic ones broke before the boot wore out).

I've had many pair of Vasque before - I really liked that these were available in wide. But there is something really off about these. Toward the front of the heel just before the foot arch, there is a lug on the sole that is longer than all the others. You can feel it when you walk. This may be good if you are an overpronator as it may keep the foot in a more neutral position; however, I'm a pit of an underpronator and this lug seemed to force me to roll my foot onto my baby toes. It's a very unnatural feel and no way I could put up with it for a long or difficult hike. I also don't like the cloth eyelets. I've had bad experiences with these ripping out when you try to lace tight. I'll be staying with my Lowa Renegade mid-wides.

Nice shoe! I broke my leg last year and I am having some nerve issues. Purchased this shoe because of its comfort and support. The sole is not smooth (common in hiking shoes) and that is bothering my feet when I walk more than 15-20 minutes, other than that it is more comfortable than most I have tried. Still I would recommend this shoe to anyone without nerve trouble.

This feels like a nice solid shoe; however, I have a narrow foot and the toe box is way too narrow - toes feel squished together. I wish Vasque would make a boot with a toe box that is shaped like a person's foot.

The boots were definitely quality looking boots however they were a lot narrower than expected. I ordered a Wide and my toes fell asleep after putting the boot on. The fit is closer to a medium than a true Wide.

I wanted hiking boots that I could use in NYC as snow boots, and also have on hand for actual hiking. I have narrow heals and large bunions on both feet (despite being 24) so I always need a wide toe box. I got a W and they fit nicely over my bunion. I also like that the boot goes up relatively high, since I've sprained my ankles in the past and wanted support. Sadly, they were too small. I wear anything from a 6.5W in flats to a 7.5 in boots, so I got the 7W because I didn't want my feet swimming around in my shoe as I hiked, and my toes hit the front of the boot. I'm returning and not bothering to try the 7.5W because the soles felt very thick and not very flexible. I'm not sure if another boot's sole would be more flexible, but I'm hoping.

I was surprised to find that this boot did not fit as my foot tends to run narrow. However, I couldn't seem to pull the laces tight enough to support the middle of my foot and yet my big toe and pinky toe were still squished against the sides. This boot looks great, it's lightweight, breathable, and I fully trust the Gore-Tex waterproofing.

Really wanted to like these. However, after hiking for one hour, the toebox jammed my big and little toes together. I ordered a wide, but my toes hurt so bad! Luckily, I brought another pair of Keen hiking boots and my toes felt immediate relief.

The wide width applies to the toe box only. Unfortunately, as is the case with too many wide shoes, behind the toe box, the maker reverts to a standard width shoe making the shoe impossible to lace up correctly. The top of my foot was pinched and the lace up distorted and pulled at the eyelets.
Beautiful shoe and my toes were nice and comfy, but sadly that is where it ended.
