I wanted a really comfortable shoe/sneaker. I would be traveling and lots of walking was inevitable. Really good support is paramount to keep my plantir fasiatis at bay. Dansko's Elise did just that. They are also super cute! I did have to exchange once as they run wide and were to big. Zappos was stellar, it happened fast and easily.

The weirdest shoe I've ever seen: the description says "A neoprene collar provides a snug fit without being constricting." This is a built-in, non-removable stretchy strap that goes over the ankle. My podiatrist and pedorthist both told me to return the shoes if the strap is not removable.

The fit was comfortable and awesome, unfortunately it says slip resistant but after one wear they were not. This is why I had to return them.

The most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I walk 10 miles a day at work and this shoe was comfortable from the moment I put them on until I got home and took them off.

I got the Elise because I wanted a Dansko shoe but I'm afraid that the clogs would fall off my feet. I love that there's no pressure in my toe area. I hate the feeling of my toes being too confined and unable to move. The shoe felt like a loose fit at first but I'm confident that it won't fall off because of the neoprene collar, which is sort of just a soft sleeve or strap along the inside of the shoe. They're stable. I don't feel ankle instability in these shoes. Haven't noticed any knee or back pains neither. The sole has a nice firm feel to it without being too hard on your feet, which I love because anything too soft like memory foam sucks in my opinion. (Too much movement and sinking around, not good for my ankle.) I have low flexible arches and getting over plantar fasciitis due to walking and standing a lot more, these shoes have made it easier. I'm a size 9 wide or 9.5 and the size 40 fits well.

These are so unlike normal Danskos in many ways, but they are comfortable and I love them. The soft suede leather and neoprene neck makes these my favorite shoes.

I am on my feet all day and need good support. These shoes are fabulous. Wish I had many more pairs! These beat the traditional Dansko clogs when it comes to standing all day. Please keep making them in many colors!

Love this shoe! It runs a little short but great arch support. The liner around the top is great, keeps the shoe securely on your foot. No flopping around.

Very cute. Top of shoe felt and fit great. Sole was hard and squeaks. Wanted them for work, I'm a nurse 12 hour shifts. Have been searching for shoes. Bummed!

I have trouble with heel pain and have had difficulty finding the right work shoe. These Dansko shoes have great heel support as well as just the right amount of cushioning. Very comfortable all day long. I would definitely recommend these shoes!

I love these shoes. Mine are the black suede and purple option -- very sweet. These shoes provide comfort and a great fit for a job where I stand for 8 1/2 hours. They are light and true to size. When I first tried them on I thought that maybe they were a bit too wide (my feet are slightly narrow), but then I realized that they were designed not to be a super tight fit. My foot does not slide out of the back at all. I have a pair of Dankso Professionals that have a very firm footbed in comparison, but these Elise shoes even with the less firm footbed, still give me enough arch support. Overall, very pleased with this purchase and would buy again.

Love these! I ordered them for my daughter for waitressing. She put them on and wore them for an 8 hour shift with no breaking in required. Super comfy!

I work in a hospital and spend a ton of time on my feet on concrete floors. This is my second pair of Danskos, and they've saved my feet, knees and back. The casual style works great with scrubs. These are lighter than the traditional clog. I'll buy more of these in the future!

I love these shoes for comfort. I am able to stand at work all day in them and at the end of day my feet are not tired. I find them much more comfortable than clogs. I highly recommend them.

I love this shoe. It is very lightweight but has the same great support that Dansko is known for. Arch support is good and there is no break-in needed. They are comfortable from the get go.

Great, comfortable shoe. I have been a fan of Dansko for years, first for work shoes, then casual shoes. They last a long time!

This shoe is so comfortable, and so cute! I wish they made it in a bigger size...all I need is 1/2 size bigger!

I have finally found the shoe that works! I have hammer toes and some arthritis. I have looked and looked for a comfortable shoe that looks good. This is it. I do a lot of walking in my job and by the end of the day my feet do not hurt. Loved the shoe so much I bought a second pair.

First I will say that I can hardly find a pair of shoes at any price that I can walk in comfortably due to wobbly feet and numerous other problems, bunions, pronation, ingrown toenails etc. I usually wear size 8½ or 9. I got the 39 in these shoes and they feel very comfortable and look nice on. The arch is good, I feel more stable in them. The colors they come in are very nice and I like the contrasting cuff around the top. They are cute and comfortable. You cannot beat that!

These are as cute as they look, and super-comfortable. The footbeds are easy to remove, so I was able to add my orthotics without a problem. My only issue is that I just put down 1/4-10 gravel in my driveway, and the traction cuts in the sole are precisely the width that if I walk in my driveway, I have to check my shoes for gravel before I walk in the house! Otherwise, these are my favorite shoes!

I wear these to work where I'm on my feet for 9 hours. They are comfortable and my feet, knees, and back never ache. Danskos are wonderful for anyone who has problems with their feet.

I've never been able to wear Dansko shoes, as I always seem to fall between sizes. The Elise is the exception! I wear a 40 in these, and a 9.5 in Keen Venice sandals and most sneakers. I loved my first pair so much, I've purchased two more. Really fun colors, super cute with jeans. I actually wear mine with dress pants at work - it's a production / office mixed environment, and I walk around all day. I recently discovered that these are also perfect Zumba shoes for me! The sole is smooth (though I don't find it to be slippery), and makes pivoting easier. The neoprene cuff makes these look really cute without socks, but, I haven't tried it that way...I bought a pair of the Dansko Emmy suede mary jane with the same footbed / rubber sole. While it was comfortable, I found that they got really smelly really quickly! So, I haven't worn the sneaker without socks.

A nicely structured shoe which is what my podiatrist wants me to wear. Good arch support and footbed cushion but I use use my custom orthotics for longer hikes, which slip in easily. Runs large/wide so size down if you are 1/2 size. I like the color combination and use these for hiking. Roomy toe bed and supportive arch allows weight to shift towards heel. A good thing for people with plantar fasciitis or bruised metatarsal bones like me.

I like the style of these shoes. I got them predominantly for walking and they are much lighter than my last pair of walking shoes. Not much arch support, but I slipped my orthotics inside the shoes and they work well.
