This is my second pair of Birkenstock sandals. The first pair I ordered were Gizahs. I normally wear an 8.5, so according to the size chart, I needed a 39. They were too big. I ordered the Turin in a 38 and they are a perfect fit! I suffer from P.F., and the Birkenstocks give just the right amount of arch support. The first time I wore these, the leather straps were stiff and tight and wore raw marks on the top of both my feet. I waited a couple days till the wear marks started to heal, and tried them again. The leather does need a wear or two to soften up. I used a hair dryer for about 30 seconds on the straps then put on and wore around. That seemed to help soften it up and stretch it out. There is definitely a break in period on these, so I would not recommend wearing them more than an hour or two the first day. I had no problems with the toe posts as I read some other reviewers did on other styles with toe posts, but I live in flip flops during the spring, summer, and beginning of fall, so I am use to toe posts between my toes. Wearing cheap flip flops with no arch support is what has lead to the P.F., so I am so glad I bit the bullet and spent the money on these! Today I just ordered another pair of the Gizahs because I am truly a shoe addict and am replacing ALL my cheap flip flops with Birkenstocks! I will order more of this style if they make them in more colors. I refuse to completely conform to full on hippie and wear the same brown pair with everything! :-) I highly recommend Birkenstocks if you have P.F., ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, or back pain from being an under or over pronator, as these help to align everything! And of course, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Zappos, because my shoes always arrive the next business day and with their free return shipping and return policy, I never have to worry about ordering shoes and getting stuck with something that doesn't fit or I don't like.

I did have to buy I full size down from what I wear in every other shoe- but that's what reviews are for. I don't see the big deal with the toe strap, it's nothing new if you wear flip flops. I am excited for them to mold more to my feet and they will got from 4 stars to 5 stars. Good for wide feet.

Birkenstock shoes have the most amazing foot pattern. They are comfortable the moment you put them on. Buy a size larger than your normal size. I wear a 8.5 and a 38 fits perfectly. I have the Ghiza style as well. This style is a flip-flop, where as the leather strap on the Ghiza holds your foot in as you walk. They also have narrow and wide sizes. If you have a longer second toe, get the narrow.

Love these super cute flip flops! Thanks Birkenstock for making these! As with all Birkenstocks, they took a few days to wear in. I have had plantar fasciitis for a year now and Birks are the only shoe I can wear these days. I expect these to last a long long time!

These shoes fit more like flip flops with the strap sitting more forward on the foot. If you're looking for a shoe that doesn't separate from your heel, look elsewhere. I personally love them. The piece in between the toe was a noticeable and very slightly uncomfortable the first time I put them on, but now (after a few weeks of wear) it's not noticeable anymore. I am a pretty solid 8, ended up with the 38 and still had plenty of toe space. I had to break them in slowly- I got a blister from the strap because I wore them too long on the first day, and then got a sore arch from wearing them too long a few days after that but if you wear them in slowly they are great. I think Birkenstock recommends an hour on the first day, then increasing by an hour each day after that until they are comfortable and subtracting an hour if your feet ever hurt. Now they fit like a charm. I plan to use these as travel sandals on my adventures in hot climates. I anticipate walking many miles in these puppies! They are more delicate than other birks and I wear them with all my summer gear: shorts, skirts and comfy linen pants.

These are super comfortable. Love that Birkenstock has a couple of flip flop styles available now this is the most comfortable of the three. The Turin and the Giza are the best! I wear them every day!

A good sturdy flipflop but not really a flipflop. The leather straps need softening by a few wearings. Good summer supportive Birkenstocks.

These look a lot different to me in person than they do online, but it isn't a bad thing. I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks last summer (Mayari) and I absolutely adore them. They are by far the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. So I wanted to purchase another pair and I decided on these because they looked the least like traditional Gizeh Birkenstocks, to me judging based on the pictures. They do have a traditional look to them, come to find out, but it is a modified version and upon much inspection I have decided that I do really like them. And as far as comfort goes, they are wonderful! As always with Birkenstocks, I wear a 40, in standard sizing I wear a 9.5.

Really happy with these sandals. They are more of a flip flop feel which is exactly what I was looking for. They will definitely need to be broken in, but I can tell they will last a lifetime.

At first I was not sure about this sandal. I adjusted the strap but still thought it was uncomfortable. A few days later, I realize it's the best fitting and most flattering shoe I own. I will buy more colors. These will definitely replace my clunky traditional Birkenstocks, except in winter with socks. These are just as comfortable, and much more durable than a typical sandal.

Very sweet shoe, more durable than other sandals, less clunky than other Birkenstocks. Like Goldilocks said, it is just right. I am a 10 or a 10W, I was able to buckle on the 2nd to last hole comfortably. These will look great much longer than flat sandals or flip flops.

Love this sandal! Turin is one of the more stylish Birkenstocks and are very comfortable. I always have difficulty with Birkenstock sizing because of the wholes sizes. I waffle between a mens 42 and 43. I own both sizes in different styles. The unisex styles seem to fit better. Regardless, once the correct size in the Turin Style, my feet said thank you! They are worth the trouble.

I am a Birkenstock lifer and tried these. They started out a bit stiff and awkward as I am not used to having so little of a strap. That being said, I love them and they have more of a fluff flop feel with the strap. I love the pink color too! They are just what I wanted!

These are nice looking shoes. They are just a bit big for me because they come wider, and I usually get a bit larger size to accomodate my width. There is no need to do this!

Nice foot bed but these shoes are taking me a long time to break in. The leather strap cut into the top of my foot and that had to heal before I could continue to wear them. I wouldn't suggest buying them to wear for a long period of time right away. Otherwise they are cute and I have faith once they are broken in will be great!

A nice, modern update from the traditional Birkenstock. The leather is quite stiff when the sandals first arrived, I have been wearing these sandals on and off for a few days now but the leather still cuts into the top of my foot, plus the oil (?) from the leather leaves a black mark on my skin. Waiting patiently for these sandals to break-in.

I own a few styles of Birkenstocks and I was ready to make the Turin my new favorite. I ordered my usual Birkenstock size (36) and they are way too big! An entire whole size too big. And unfortunately for me, this style is not offered in size 35 (not just by Zappos, but by Birkenstock itself...I checked their site), so going down a size is not even an option. This is a huge bummer for me. I ordered the "oiled iron" color and they were a nice, neutral grey. The leather on this sandal is thick and substantial (not "delicate"), so make sure that's something that you want -- I can imagine they will need time to break in. But otherwise, they have the same great Birkenstock support, which is heaven if you have problem feet.

I've been wowed enough to write a review, that says a lot! I haven't owned a pair of Birkenstocks since college, and living in San Diego I pretty much live in either a)high heels or b)flip flops, but since I endured a serious ankle sprain, it looks like I won't be wearing either of those for a while. Well, I can wear the flip flops, but they provide zero support for my injured foot. So, in searching for a viable alternative, I came upon my old friend Birkenstock. But they make such cool styles now! I won't look like the hippie I was back then! I love that they have the flip flop look but actually have support. And they feel so good I don't want to take them off, even when I'm just sitting! They definitely run huge - I tried the 37 first since that is what they recommend for a size 6-6.5 (I am either a 6 or 6.5 in literally every shoe I own), but as soon as I took them out of the box, I knew I'd need the 36. Zappos is an insanely helpful with their exchange policy - I received the shoes yesterday, went online immediately to exchange, and bam I received the new pair this morning already!!! And the 36 is perfect, so take note the sizing runs a full size big. Thanks Zappos!!!

I love the look of these shoes and they feel super comfortable on - unfortunately, this shoe doesn't come in a 35. I tried the 36 but it was too big...would've love to have been able to keep these shoes.

These are very uncomfortable. The top leather strap hits the foot at an odd spot - the strap needs to go farther back for it to be comfortable. Had to send these back, ouch!

I just got these sandals today and I love the look of them. That said, they are extremely uncomfortable! The thing between your toes is hard and very uncomfortable. I didn't even consider trying to break them in, they just hurt too bad. They are going back right away. Birkenstock, please get rid of the plastic toe piece!

Super disappointed in this pair of shoes and very sad I wore them thinking they were the same pair I had previously purchased. Way too big, way too wide and strap is much higher on the foot than last pair.

They looked good and felt great until I tried to move, then just hurt too much between the toes. I have no desire to live through the blisters/cuts that are sure to come from any 'breaking in,' so back they go. I do wear flip flops all the time so was surprised. Delivery/return was the usual great Zappos service.
