It's too soon to tell what the long term evaluation would be, but it's worth noting that the shape of the sole causes the outside of my foot to rub against the upper. So much so that I had to get the wide boot even though I'm total "D" width. I couldn't wear the medium width and had to return the first pair I got.

Was searching for a nice looking and breathable boot with Gore-Tex, and this fits the bill. Great Vibram sole also. They run a little narrow, and so I got the wide (which seems more like a regular). Arch support seems okay, but I have high arches and may need to put in an insert (will have to see on long stretches). My previous boot was a Keen, which was great (sole eventually wore and no longer waterproof). Tried some new Keens, but they seem too wide in the heel (although fine in the front). Overall this looks to be a good boot (just wore for short stretches so far).

I bought these shoes in both the 8.5 wide and 9 wide and ended up returning the 8.5 wide. I have a wider foot and I am very glad I went with the wide selection Vasque offers, so if your foot tends to take a wider shoe I suggest you do the same. Both fit me, but I decided to go with the 9 wide in the end because I enjoy a little more room in my shoes. The 8.5, though, was not uncomfortable and was a bit more supportive because of its smaller size that sort of hugged my foot more. Sizing aside, the shoes look good, feel strong, and have a sturdy looking/feeling lace system. I recommend them.

Comfortable to wear, easy to tie. I ordered Wide and I can wear them, but I wish they were even a bit wider. Although waterproof, one drop came through the mesh.

These are great hiking books. They break-in quickly. The Gortex is great and I have been able to go through some very wet areas with completely dry feet. I would have given them 5 stars if they had a little more ankle support. They do have ankle support, but it could be a little more stout. Also, these boots look really cool with the yellow accents. Very sturdy and I imagine I'll get a ton of miles out of these.

These are nice boots, but needing a wide, I found both the 9.5 and 10 to still be a bit narrow across the toe box. I wouldn't consider these "wide", even in that designated width. However, the 10W fit almost well enough to make me want to risk it; nice boots with a great feel, and you can tell that break-in would be minimal.

Warning: These do not fit the same as the original Breeze GTX boots. They seem to be wider (comparing same width). They recently came out with the narrow version (contacted Vasque). They should have left the original boot alone because they seemed to have made the original worse, not better...

It feels like the boots should be comfortable but the front of the shoe curves around toward the big toe which causes your little toe to get pushed and rubbed. They seem a bit narrow compared to Keens or Merrells.

I love these boots, which is why I gave comfort a five-star rating. I used them for hiking, walking, and working construction. Whenever I wore them my feet felt better and my legs and feet were not as sore as they would have been in running shoes. Unfortunately, they're not made well so they started falling apart after a little more than a year. The boot is not wearing out on the bottoms, but it is breaking apart at the seams. Also be careful not to pull too tight on the strap when putting the boot on. Mine broke. So if you don't mind dropping this much on a pair of boots that last a year and a half, then I would highly recommend these for hiking or working or just for comfort if you're heavy. But if you're looking for a longer-lasting pair of boots, look elsewhere. I am for my next pair.

I really like these shoes. The 13W fits exactly how previous reviews noted - about half size smaller. After three times lacing up the boot, one bootlace completely frayed and broke - the second one will suffer the same fate soon - I was not planning on locating waxed or leather bootlaces for these upper end boots. The boots are comfortable - so beware and pre-purchase some extra laces!

I take an 11 usually. I ordered an 11 but found too small. I returened them and later bought a 11 1/2. These are also too small. I also noticed that the toes go up a lot which makes you feel like you are rocking. Not happy and will research other brands.

The GTX was an excellent boot. I had one that was outstanding. I figured that the GTX 2.0 would be as good if not better. And, the GTX 2.0 looks great. But, the toe box on the GTX 2.0 is smaller than the toebox for the GTX, and the GTX made my foot hurt after hiking for more then 3-5 miles (with the GTX, I had zero foot pain with 10-20 mile hikes). So, I had to return the GTX 2.0, unfortunately.

The boots look good in pictures. After wearing only a few minutes they were rubbing my little toe on both sides. I have a narrow foot, but these boots seemed very narrow. Could be that the toe was also somewhat elongated, almost clown shoe-ish. I did not care for the style when they arrived, I do not care for pointed toes on my boots. The laces were very adequate for me. The pull strap on the back was small, but usable for me. Due to the shortcomings I am returning the boots.

I read all the good reviews for this and was excited to get them then I was a little upset with these when I received them because of two simple items. Fit and feel is good but the laces are about 2-inches too short, not a big deal but, come on, really? Also, the pull loop in the back of the boot, something I rely on to get boots on my feet, is completely useless. It is so small only my pinky finger fits through it. Now I have to decide whether to return them or take these brand new boots to the cobbler to be cobbled!

Really like this shoe - in fact, I'm about to order a 2nd pair, so when these wear out in a few years I'll be all set. I hike about an hour every day on hilly & rocky terrain, and the shoes are comfortable and grip the trail well, without feeling too heavy. One interesting note: the first pair I received seemed fine until I went for my first hike in the rain. I noticed that the left shoe stayed a light tan in color when wet, but the right shoe turned dark brown and wet looking - it looked as if it hadn't been correctly waterproofed. I called Zappos, and even though I had already worn the shoes a few times they let me return them & swap for a new pair, which arrived the next day! The new pair looks fine when wet, so I have no doubt the old pair was defective. Bottom line - great company & great policies towards customers.
