This is my first new pair of cycling kicks in maybe 3 years, coming back to Shimano from Specialized. The reformulated rubber on the bottom is MUCH more walkable, much closer to the rubber on street shoes. No longer will you feel every step on the sidewalk rattle your bones with each clacky step. Per the other reviews, these are excellent for flat feet. I do not have wide feet, just very low arches, and these are wonderful. The shoes 3-strap design is highly adjustable. This shoe definitely meets the Shimano standard for quality.

Put about 200 miles on these shoes. I like them. Comfy and they do what they were made for.

My husband wears a size 16. All the blogs said his shoe ran a little small, but with the European sizing his shoe was a size 16.2 which gave him just the little edge he needed. He is very happy with the shoe and as usual your service was great!

The wide size is great for wide feet. The toe box is a still a little tight on me, but I can live with that. More importantly, this is the only SPD shoe I can wear with my wide feet!

These are the first pair of mountain biking shoes I've bought in a long time and these shoes are great. So comfortable and the best thing is the soles are tall enough that I don't wear down the spd clips walking on cement. I would definitely recommend someone either getting into the sport or someone who has been riding for aong time on these.

Great fitting cycling shoe. This shoe has been with me for the last year. It shows minimal wear and it comfortable. I use it as my commuter shoe. I usually leave another pair of shoes at work but have worn these all day and they are great.

I usually ride with SPD-SL (3-hole) shoes. But with winter approaching I wanted shoes that I could use on a spinning bike, and they all seem to require the SPD (2-hole) style shoes. I chose these shoes because they are available in wide widths. I have had them a couple of months and have been wearing them on outdoor winter rides (I put new pedals on my old cross bike which I use when the roads are full of sand and salt or are a little slick) and on the spinning bike, typically twice a week. The shoes fit and feel great; giving me all the room I need in the toe box without slipping in the heel. They seem to be well made and, despite a review or two to the contrary, they come with everything you need. And of course, the service from Zappos was top notch, as usual.

LOVE these shoes. I am size 14 and have difficulty getting a good fit. My right foot is slightly wider and usually hurts in new shoes. The Shimano's wore in nicely after a few rides. No pain in the right foot. Very comfortable to walk around in. Highly recommend.

The shoe was a little tight at first. After a couple of rides I think it got better. I was afraid the next size up would have been to long. The straps could have been a little longer. I feel they are about a 1/4 of an inch short for someone with wide foot. Straps barely made it to the latch. I had to push it down. Like I said after a few rides it got better, maybe they stretched. Overall I love the shoe.

I chose these shoes because they were available in wide sizes. I normally wear dress shoes size 9.5, so I picked size 44 Wide, which was perfect. I replaced the cleat with Shimano SM-SH56, because I thought they might be easier to release from the pedal. I'm new, so I don't really know if this is true. The shoes seem a little heavier than my other shoes, but I don't really notice the weight when I'm riding. At first I didn't care for the man-made upper, but after I was caught in a few rainstorms I've come to appreciate the quick-drying advantage over leather. Not really much arch support, but enough room to use an almost any insert of your choice. I'm very happy with these shoes.

Very pleased with this product. Great quality and value. Have logged well over 200 miles on the trail with these and am quite pleased. Some reviews knocked this shoe for its weight. This has not been an issue for me. Ordered a 47. I wear US 12 for running and 11 or 11.5 for non-athletic shoe. 47 is perfect.

They fit well, and are easy to adjust. I added in an insole for slight better arch support, but when riding I don't really notice it. The sticker inside the shoe for keeping water out, I suppose, is dumb and makes adjusting the position of the cleat impossible. I tried using it but after two tweaks of the cleat position I gave up.

I have long, narrow feet and have difficult time, not only finding regular shoes, but finding cycling shoes was nearly impossible! These shoes are extremely comfortable and fit my size 15 foot! I recommend these shoes.

I love these shoes! I needed a slightly wider shoe to fit my orthotics in and these fit the bill. I wear a regular size 11 and got the 46 Wide from Shimano and they fit perfectly! I race XC and 'Cross and these are both stiff enough for the pedals yet flexible enough to run in. Extremely comfortable for long days in the saddle and they wear well too. Can't beat the price when compared to other high end shoes. I put these up against my Sidis and Pearl Izumis any day.

These are not just comfortable biking shoes, but they're the most comfortable shoes, regardless of type, that I own. Easy on and off, and easy to secure.

I have very wide feet, so my choice of bike shoes is very limited. These fit, so I'm happy. I normally take a 10 1/2 EEE or 11 normal, and according to the chart this should have been a 45 or 46. However, 47 was the right size, so go a bit bigger than normal. The buckles and construction all seem very good. No complaints.

I ordered different mountain bike shoes but they were a bit too narrow. Zappos exchanged them for the SH-M088s (fits perfectly) and the whole process was painless.

Wide size Shimano mtn biking shoes are excellent! Great fit and feel and they seem to be very well made. Zappos had the most sizes of this shoe in stock as I could not find my size on any of the biking web sites. Thank you Zappos!

These shoes are great - I went with the 15 wide (typically hard to find) and they are absolutely perfect. Extremely comfortable, excellent traction in the sand, and completely changed the way I ride. I could barely keep up with my Tri-Athlete friend, but now he is trying to keep up with me! Can't believe I waited so long to clip in. And thank you Zappos! These things were on my front door practically the next day. Incredible.

Excellent mountain biking shoes. I've found these shoes fit like a glove and are very comfortable to ride in. I have a large foot, size 15 w, so I purchased the 51 wide. They fit almost perfectly. They felt a little snug at first but have stretched to be almost perfect. Just be careful with the ratchet as you can easily cut of circulation to your feet. As for looks, these look great. My wife commented they made feet look small to her! I guess that's a good thing. Use: I currently use these with CB Candy pedals and they work nicely. The tread is pretty deep so I needed to use spacers and CB metal plates to get the spacing just right so I could clip in and still just contact the spindle with the sole. Also, I needed to move the cleat around to find the right position but there was just enough space so my feet do not rub up against the cleat. My only negative comment are the insoles could be a little more subtle and less abrasive but I don't notice them once my foot is locked in. I also have the previous years version the M087 and I find these more comfortable and slightly larger. Finally, I would like to thank Shimano for making shoes for larger foot riders. Not many other brands make a size 15, let alone a 15 wide. I know SIdi makes some larger sizes but I hear they run a little slim and cost 3 to 4 times as much.

Extremely happy with the Shimano SH-M088! These fit perfectly; I mean they actually feel as if they were special made just for my duck feet. Just enough room in the toe box for comfort, but not too much for excessive movement. A few hundred miles of mountain bike riding and they are actually feeling better. I love the Velcro/Ratcheting strap combination; it allows for a fast and easy on and off, and the ratcheting strap allows for tightening during rides while clipped in the pedals for when they stretch a little. I have been looking for wide shoes for quite some time, and I hit the bull's eye with these. They also come with a set of cleats. Also, another thumbs up for Zappos. Free overnight, excellent customer service and stocking items that are never carried by local sores.

Important note re: cleat nuts: One of the reviewers stated that the shoes didn't come with cleat nuts, so there was no way to attach cleats. That comment almost kept me from buying these shoes (I don't need more inconvenience in my life). HOWEVER, I ordered them and mine did, indeed, come with nuts. They were NOT installed in the shoe, and were simply in a plastic bag floating around in the box. So perhaps that person got a bad box, or accidentally tossed the cleats out with the packing material. Other than that, they seem quite comfortable - the only ding I give them are that the tongue is very thin.

I have extra wide feet and for the first time I have been able to ride with no numbness for any length ride. I used to get numb feet after just 10 miles, now no problem 30-50. I liked the style and the wearability, they are more flexible than more expensive shoes and I choose these for shorter rides and those that I know will require walking and or frequent stops. Size I purchased was 47 to fit a measured 10.5 EEEEE. Yeah, that's five of them. So I wind up with a "12" wide - and it fits! Overall these are comfortable and easy to walk and ride in!

I was searching for a training shoe to be used primarily indoors. I ordered a size 14 EE to accommodate foot swelling from a knee replacement surgery. The offers great sole support, small width even in EE, and the leather was stiffer than expected; although, after several hundred miles, it has soften up a bit. I would recommend trying on the shoe at a local bike shop before ordering. Zappos is excellent in the ordering phase and prompt delivery...

I have a wide foot, generally Men's 6.5-7 E. I wear New Balance mens 7 EE running shoes. Shimano MH088 40E, good length, but too narrow, definitely not E width. I also tried the 41, but those were a bit too long for me. I also tried the Shimano RH088 40EE. Those were quite comfortable, but i want recessed cleats. Overall, the Shimanos seem to run a little narrow. At least it was consistent, and across both shoe models I tried. For comparison, the Specialized shoes (Comp and Tahoe models i tried on in a store) seem to run long.
