Second pair - different style and even better fitting! The lacing system is easy to use ensures a "tight" fit...it's like a glove for your foot. They run small so try a half size larger than normal.

I've owned many of the XA series in Salomon shoes. I like these even better as they have a more aggressive tread pattern in the forefoot while maintaining a high-wear section below the out heel. Very breathable due to the mesh over the toe box. These also seem even more stable with a slightly wider outsole. Great shoes.

I purchased these for my Nephew for our family hikes. The aggressive sole & stable heel made our treks safer & more enjoyable. His feedback is they are light weight & supportive. Great if you accidentally slip off a rock while crossing a creek. They dry fast & the microbiobial insole means nothing funky grows in the shoe!

I had the original GTX in "Eucalyptus" green about 7yrs ago. I wore them EVERYWHERE and have not really duplicated the utility or comfort since. They were awesome. After several years now of no Salomons I decided to treat myself to these lovely green Hornets! I was not disappointed. Although not GTX (I'll sadly have to get another water resistant pair for work) these have the same cushioned, supportive insole as my first ones with a tread great for trail running. I bought the men's 7 although I am normally an 8.5 women's. I wanted green and there is no good green option in women's. No harm as I have wide enough feet and prefer a roomy toe box (Keen is the other primary brand of shoe in my closet). Haven't tried the cheaper Salomons but have not yet been disappointed with the higher end traditional styles.

I ordered The Hornet, Mission, and Crossmax. For me the Hornet is by far the most comfortable. I'm sending the other back and will get the Hornet in the other color. Thanks for the awesome Salomons Zappos.

I got these shows for my gym training. I was looking for a solid, stable solution and got exactly that. I've been wearing these for 3-4 weeks: they are comfortable, seem durable and have excellent traction.
