Having recently been hit with some back issues I was in need of some comfy walking shoes that would offer me great support and cushioning. I'm in my mid-thirties so these were just hipster enough that these caught my eye and being that Mephisto gives the impression that they make the best walking shoes, I figured I was in luck. Firstly the fit is larger than most shoes, I occasionally will wear a wide shoe, these would be considered E width in most brands. They also measure longer than most, I found them to be almost a full size bigger than say my Nike fit. Now with regard to looks, they certainly pass the style test, I rather like the perforated look with the soft grey leather. Now the bad news...they are an absolute miserable experience to walk in. I have never had shoes that were quite so awkward. The heel of the shoe pushes up in such away that you feel wobbly and the strike of the heel feels uncomfortable. I would not recommend these to anyone, and to think they charge premium for them. I believe the construction of the shoe is quite nice, but they seemed to have over thought the sole design and created an unpleasant walking experience.

I've owned two pairs of Mephisto shoes before ordering these, and I'll say they are equally comfortable. They fit a bit differently than my previous pairs, but that's probably because of the style. I wore a size 12 in my last two pairs, but I had to go with a 12.5 with these. They look good and feel good, and I plan on wearing them for several years as I have with other Mephisto products.

I love the shoes. There is not a more comfortable shoe in the world. I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't tie their shoelaces though as a proper snug fit is necessary to judge and appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into their manufacturing process.. They will also last longer than the average shoe. And women who understand that fashion and quality often go hand-in-hand, frequently look admiringly at a well shod man, at least that's my experience with these shoes.

I am very pleased with the shoes. I did not think they would be as comfortable as they are. My left foot is a bit smaller but it still fits perfectly. I just go them so time will tell how they work out.

First pair of Mephistos ever and I'm hooked. The heel and feel takes some getting used to, but I believe over time and wear that this product could actually help relieve some back pain especially if your on your feet a lot. It keeps me kinda leaning forward and more on my toes so to speak.

I really like the way the shoe looks and feels. I wear orthotics which fit just fine in the shoes. I am normally a size 9 1/2 or 10, and the shoes I got were marked 9 1/2 and are just a bit too long and just a bit wide. I probably would fit well in this shoe size 9, so if you purchase this shoe, by a size smaller than you usually purchase for a better chance at proper fit. I bought them in the Light Grey Color, but I now see they come in blue and I might purchase a 2nd pair in blue. If they came in brown or black I definitely would by another pair of these. All in All it is really comfortable and has a good feel when laced. I wear my graphite orthotic under the cushioned insole.

I agree with the first review in that the heel of the shoe has a strange feel and makes walking in this shoe uncomfortable. They fit great and look very nice but the soles have a hard feel to them and combined with the awkward feel in the heel they are not pleasant to walk in.

I loved the color and quality--I tried these shoes on three times and thought I could love them. The shoes are too big and for the money--I need a better fit. My other Mephisto feels so much better so in my opinion and this shoe should be bought a full size smaller.
