I just received these today. The shoes are comfortable and supportive...take it from someone with very sensitive feet! I was surprised to find that the insole has extra cushioning in the metatarsal area and then drops off so that toes (and my bunion) still have breathing room. Oh so nice! I wish other manufacturers would provide that. I can even wear these without my orthotics. The shoes are fashionable and such a nice break from the sneaker look that I've been trapped in lately (but the sneakers with orthotics do have their place). I may be 66 years old but I am not ready for grandma shoes! I bought the 8 1/2 M in grey (it's a medium warm grey that blends with many colors) and the leather is soft from the get-go. They don't slide off my heel even though the toe area is roomy because of the hidden elastic on top...very rare. There's also a little room for light socks, which I like. With nylons my foot slides around. So you might want to take that into consideration.

I love this shoe. Unfortunately I have feet that are wide near the toes and narrow at the heel, so when I buy a shoe with room enough for my toes, the heel inevitably slips while I walk. With this Cobb Hill Paulette purchase, I started with a 7.5 W, my usual size, which felt great--soft sole, good arch support, room for my toes--but allowed too much heel motion. So I exchanged for size 7 W, which still felt good and reduced the heel sliding, though not entirely. I don't dare drop to size 6.5, as the heel to toe length is perfect in the 7. I'd rather pamper my toes than squeeze them in order to reduce heel slippage. I have tried those pads that stick to the heel area of shoes in order to reduce slippage and have found the pads to be irritating and prone to peeling off during use, so that remedy doesn't work for me. The Paulettes, while not a perfect match to my odd feet, are the closest I have found in recent years, and the most comfortable. And they look sharp, too. As always, Zappos' prompt shipping, exchange and return practices are the best. Thank you, Zappos!

Got these Paulette shoes in the red color. SO DISAPPOINTED! I've purchased this shoe--in this color--a couple of times before. Clark has radically changed the design and color. Fewer decorative folds. Stitching and upper material look comparatively cheap. And it's no longer red! More like a maroonish color. Picture on site is a picture of how the shoe used to look. Attached a pic of my old well worn and loved shoe next to the new one. Significant difference. Returning.

I just got these in red and they're a keeper. I have a lot of foot problems (bunions, arthritis of the bone under the big toe, pain on the top of my foot, etc.) and these felt so comfortable right out of the box. The red is really cute, kind of a distressed look and not fire-enginey. I've already put in an order for these shoes in the bark color. I was afraid with my widish foot that I would need a wide, but these are great in the regular (B) width and my normal size (6.5). The only problem is that they feel just slightly big in the heel (not so that my foot is slipping though). I've ordered a size 6 B just to see if I need a smaller size. If that doesn't work, I will put a heel pad in the 6.5. I didn't know anything about this brand before but I will look for these in the future. Thanks to Zappos great customer service for the opportunity to try different sizes and for the quick, free shipping. I just don't buy shoes anywhere else now.

I'm really happy with these shoes! They are even cuter than they look in the picture. They are super comfortable: great arch support, good cushioning. I wore them straight out of the box for a 14 hour work day. No breaking in, no problems with plantar fasciitis. Kudos to New Balance/ Cobb Hill for making such a high quality shoe. Excellent service from Zappos, as usual.

These are deceiving! They are not red! Instead they are a dark burnt orange, which fades into a blotchy very dark with lighter patches, and there is no shoe polish that color available to make it even. Very comfortable, and after wearing a few times the leather becomes very soft and does not hold its shape, so the toes look like a herd of elephants ran across your toes, and looks awful! After the first several times I wore them, they looked so awful, I can only wear them around the house. This is a lot to pay just to wear around the house!

Love these shoes! Right out of the box, they felt like they'd been made especially for my feet. Lots of room in the toe box and the heel area was narrow enough that my heels weren't slipping up and down. Cute styling, too. Will be looking at other Cobb Hill shoes in the future because my hard-to-fit puppies deserve the best! LOL

Love these shoes. I take a size 11, and have narrow feet, so there is a tiny bit of extra room. However, since I wear these shoes mostly in the Fall, and early Spring, I'm usually wearing thicker socks, and that does the trick. These aren't athletic shoes, but the arch support is good for a pair of office/casual dress shoes. I've walked all over Boston without an issue.

I got the shoe in gray and it has an interesting, distressed look. I couldn't decide if I really liked the looks but once I tried it on, I was sold due to the comfort. I do think it looks nice with long pants. The shoe is surprisingly lightweight. I might try my next pair of Cobb Hills shoes in a size smaller because these are a tad big - but probably pretty close to true to size.

I have loved these shoes, especially the fit and comfort, but they are less than a year old and are looking very dumpy. The leather on the toe is all wrinkled. The leather also stains very easily and doesn't seem to respond well to cleaning or polishing. I am not hard on shoes, so I wonder about this.

While I haven't had a chance to wear these for any length of time, I did wear them for a couple of hours and found them to be really comfortable right out of the box. I think they are really cute for comfort shoes and don't look clunky or anything. My exact size is a 10.5 to 11. I ordered an 11 in these and they fit fine but I think I could have worn a 10.5 if they'd had that. They have pretty good arch support, more than the average shoe but not extreme. I do like them so much that I will probably order another pair. I think they will be great walking shoes.

This is a great shoe. They were comfortable the minute I put them on. I have big, weird feet so I also ordered a wide. Ended up returning those and kept the "B" width. In a perfect world, I would love to get a half size larger so I could wear them with socks. Alas, they don't come any larger. I recently took them on a medical mission in Guatemala. Besides standing on cement floors all day, they were great on the cobblestone streets, as they have a nice heavy -but not too bulky- sole. I'm thinking of getting another pair. The style is nice; a loafer but with more pizzazz.

After reading other reviews I went ahead and ordered this shoe. I have bunions, so need a wide, comfortable shoe -- but my heels are actually quite narrow. This shoe fits well, does not hurt my bunions, and is not terrible on the heel. Support feels adequate. It pairs wells with slacks for work, but also meets my requirement for my walking/standing needs. Should also go well with dresses. I have an extremely hard time finding shoes that both fit my feet and look nice - this one fits the bill. (Review based on a 6.5 wide shoe.)

I personally think this is one of the best online companies I have dealt with. Their products are high quality, and if you have a problem they take care of it immediately. There is free shipping, both ways. Love the company.

I like that the wide size was wide enough to be comfortable on my bunions. Also the uppers are soft and flexible. I didn't like the metatarsal pad in the insole, it hit me in the wrong spot and was uncomfortable for me.

I really liked these shoes, but they were too long--a fingers-width in the heel between my foot, and the shoe rubbed against the side of my big toe where I develop calluses. I think if I try the smaller size, the toe box will be too small. I love Cobb Hill shoes and have several pairs, but I have bought anything from a 7 1/2W to a 9W and in most other brands I wear a 9 W.

Love, love, love these and several other Cobb. Hill styles. Attractive, comfortable and well made. Thinking about getting another color and did, but different color didn't fit the same, so had to return it.

Seems like a cute shoe that would be comfortable if it fit. This was really tight. I don't think my feet have changed anymore in the last five years, but I think the sizing scheme has changed. Instead of size 10.5 WW I am having to order size 12 WW and even then sometimes the shoes are tight.

Almost returned these because of snug fit . Glad I didn’t, after wearing in house for day, all is well. Great shoe for proper alignment of foot. I have a hammer toe on one foot and bunion on other foot. These shoes now feel wonderful.

Holy cow! I put these on and they were like magic. I am literally already looking to buy a pair in another color because they are THAT comfy. The design is a little extra for me as I prefer a simpler, loafer-style look, but it's so worth it to know I can wear these all day. No heel scrap. No scrunched toes. Good flexibility and padding for walking. Can't say enough good things. Thank you for a functional work shoe, Rockport!
