I'm 5'1 and wear a 14 pant size and these work great for me. They aren't a miracle worker, but are high waisted which keeps the tummy tight and smooth. They are decently opaque and give nice support to the thighs and legs. The material has a little sheen to it, which I guess is due to the spandex. I wish these were 100% matte, but not the end of the world. Worn with a long tunic and flats, these are a very cute addition to my closet.

I am normally a size 4 in clothing and got these in a medium in hopes that they would be more opaque since they wouldn't stretch as much. Also I tried on a Spanx bodysuit in the past in my size and it was a circus act trying to get out of it. So I thought the medium might be better. These feel fine but they are very see through! I bent over and you could see my underwear and even the pattern on them. Yikes. I definitely can't wear these out in public and would return them but unfortunately I threw away the cardboard packaging when I got them. I was sure I was going to love them so I didn't bother saving the packaging and now I'm stuck with these. They would be fine if they weren't so see through. As they are, they are nothing special and there are much better options out there.

Spanx! Who knew the wonders of these little beauts!? Before I moved state-side I purchased my leggings from Top Shop in the U.K. They were my favorite place to buy them - don't fade, don't stretch out, always a great fit, cropped and full length, and wash and dry perfectly. I still have a few pairs that are about 3 years old and they hold up fine. I was sad when I found that I could not find them over here, not even in the USA Top Shop and it always seemed a bit extreme buying them from the U.K and then paying for them to be shipped. When the Spanx arrived today I looked at them in the package and my heart initially sank - tights!? They look like tights (nylons to you guys). Anyway, I reluctantly tried them on...it was a bit like pulling on a second skin at first and I was sure they would not be flattering or would gather up in places where I don't need any extra help with bulge, but...they are fantastic! Seriously, they smooth me out in all the right places and give me shape in all the right places too! I love my new second skin leggings. Good for wearing with tops and under dresses. Yay! They are a bit pricey, but I am thinking they are worth the sacrifice for the confidence and support they offer. I have an athletic shape figure, that I am just putting through its paces, so that it shrinks some, so if you are curvy do not fear because I reckon Spanx will improve your rear.

I love these leggings. They fit really well are are attractive looking. I would recommend these for any type of figure!!

Just what I'd hoped for.They keep me firm, and are super comfy. I'm 5'3" and almost 120 lbs, and I ordered the small. They fit easily while still keeping any jiggling to a minimum (none of my other leggings do that) and the only time it's see through is when I'm sitting and bending my knees...you can see my knees through the fabric. Otherwise it's pretty good covered, and feels like stockings, but smooths everything out.

Love these! They're super stretchy, very flattering, and I haven't had any issues with them being see-through or ripping. I wore them every day apart from wash day for the first two weeks when I bought them. I wish that they made a lighter/thinner pair for summer (these are best suited to early spring and fall) and that they were less expensive, but they're my favorite leggings I've ever bought.

I love these; however, they need to be worn under a skirt or dress, as they are slightly see-through in the rear. There is a very slight shimmer from the spandex content, however it is not noticeable, and they are thick & matte on the legs. They do fit like a control top (being Spanx) but they do the job and I did not find them uncomfortable at all. Cute for summer!

It was with some trepidation that I ordered these because several reviews mentioned ripping, but I really like them. They are very comfortable and opaque.

These are must have leggings! They ride much higher on me than the model thus hiding my left over baby pooch! They do not show the dimples in my legs and are very slimming! I plan on ordering another pair! I wear a large and ordered a large and they are perfect!

I like these a lot. I usually wear an 8 in pants, so I ordered a medium and a large. I chose the large, simply because the waistband didn't roll over as much when I sat down - they were both comfortable. They are pretty opaque and they suck me in nicely. They are made of a warmer material, so I wouldn't recommend wearing them in the summer, but for spring and fall they'll be great.

I am enjoying these leggings. The fit is good. No issues with the crotch because I bought the correct size and ease them on like would with any other tights. Great thickness, no see-through. Also, no muffin top due to design of waist band.

These worked great for what I needed under a dress that was a little too short. Length and tightness were what I expected, but the stretchy material does have a bit of a shine to it.

I'm so frustrated with this line of products. I'm well over several hundred dollars in to this compression dressy leggings thing now. Here is the story. I bought this product, full length, directly from Spanx, and within 5 weeks they tore in the crotch. I thought I had done something wrong, my nails, sat down on scratchy concrete, something. So I tried to reorder because I loved the fabric (not shiny), and the way they made me look, but for some reason it was out of stock, so I ordered the athletic version (love them, but not very dressy), and the cheaper version (hate them, the waist rolls). Spring rolls around and I haven't lost the hope that the cotton leggings will be back, ideally in capri length. Turns out Spanx doesn't carry that length anymore, but Zappos does. Super, I love Zappos, and they are on sale. Not Super...2 months in and they are disintegrating at the crotch again. Now mind you, this time I am being amazingly careful and protective of my rump in my favorite leggings, I made sure to order a size up so I wasn't over stressing the fabric, it didn't work. I'm sad. I loved this fabric, and they made my legs look so good, the waist band doesn't roll, and they smooth a little muffin top and don't pinch at the waist. They are perfect, if you don't mind throwing them out after 10 wearings. I would happily pay triple for a product that lasted indefinitely.

These leggings are more like thick tights. I wear them under skirts and tunics but would never wear them with out something completely covering my rear end. After one washing in cold water and hanging dry, they already looked a little worn. After about three wearings the crotch is wearing a little thin, kind of like tights tend to do. If these cost less it would probably be a good investment, but these leggings are quite expensive. They are comfortable and I like the higher-rise, but I am considering returning them due to the above issues.

The package of these leggings says not see through. It is very see through! I teach exercise on stage and would NEVER be able to wear these. Students in class would be able to see EVERYTHING!

So I bought these and couldn't wait for them to arrive! They are very comfortable and have a great smoothing affect. However they are totally see through! They say they are renforepced to keep you covered, not true. If you never bend over and stand only then yes they are not see through. They also have a sheen to then from the elastic. Also they are extremly fragile. The first day wearing them I got three holes! Yes three! So I emailed zappos and their customer service was awesome. They immediately sent me out a replacement pair, no questions asked. So I was very optimistic, hoping the pair I had received was a fluke but not so much. I now have two hole-y pair of see through spanx leggings. I am really bummed because they are super comfortable and I really love them. My search continues for the perfect black legging!

This was my first time ordering from Zappos...they were great. The pants, not so much! I wore one pair three times and the crotch area started to tear from the seams! The second pair I ordered did the same thing within 5 times of wearing them! They looked amazing in but if I'm paying this much a pair for leggings they better hold up for at least a month or SIX! OVERALL... Will order from Zappos again but buyer beware when ordering Spanx products! I have ordered another type of leggings from Spanx and the same thing happened to the crotch! Feel like I flushed money down the toilet!

These were incredibly uncomfortable! The fabric was scratchy and I felt like I would break out I hives. I cannot imagine trying to wear these in warm or hot weather! I was overheating as soon as I out them on! The good thing is it motivated me to exercise more, rather than punishing myself in such medieval gear.
