Highly recommended. These shorts are ultra-comfortable, and this is my second pair. Last spring, I got a lovely dark purple pair that were perfect for 3-season traveling - lightweight without being thin or flimsy, versatile, no-iron, and durable. I am back for the carbon color for daily dog walking and more rugged outdoor use. The cargo pockets are roomy enough to hold your cell phone, keys, etc., but do not gap, bulge, or get in the way. The first pair I ordered from Zappos had the carabiner key ring in one pocket, but I never used it and found it annoying. This pair did not have one, fine with me. I thought the back pockets might be uncomfortable, but not so, in my opinion. As for fit, I am 5'7" and 150 pounds with somewhat distressing saddlebag hips accompanied by 60-year old abs and waistline. I ordered an 8 and a 10 and kept the 10. Although the 8s fit and the fabric has some stretch after you wear them awhile, they pulled too tight in the hip region when I sat down, so I chose the roomier 10. Happily, the size 10 this year is consistent in size and quality. Thank you, Kuhl! On me, the legs are longer than on the svelte Zappos model, and I recommend trying this style if you want longer than mid-thigh but not bermuda length shorts. I tried longer inseam Kuhl shorts, but didn't like the bulk at the cuffs. As always, Zappos' return policy is awesome. Try these out!

Perfect shorts! Totally comfortable, stylish and enough leg coverage for my 55 year old legs. The size 4 fits perfectly (34" hips,25"waist, 5'4" tall). The rise is a little low in front but not a deal breaker and there's plenty of coverage in the rear. The carbon color is a nice soft black that will be ideal for traveling. The kairn short was floppy and too lightweight in both size 2 and 4 but these have a slightly thicker but still very lightweight fabric. Worth the price.

I am a size 6-8. Based on the reviews that they run small, I got a 10 and they fit perfectly. Love the pockets and the fit. A bit longer than expected, but I can roll them up to the bottom side pockets just fine. A winner!

Love these shorts! The material is lightweight and fast drying. The snap stays snapped and the back sits higher so bending and sitting is not an issue. Lots of pockets make them perfect for the times you don't want to carry a purse. Sizing runs small. I normally wear a six but need an eight in Kuhl. I'm 5'10" and 140lbs. Own several other Kuhl pants and love them all, great quality.

These are great shorts, very comfortable and lightweight. I typically wear a size 6 or size 8 but ordered up based on reviews. Perfect!

These shorts are great. They do not gap at the waist, are a comfortable length, and have some stretch to them. I definitely recommend ordering a size up. I usually wear a 4-6 and had to exchange these for an 8.

These are really cute (color is great) and functional (lots of pockets). They run pretty small (I am a size 8, sometimes a 6, and the size 8 was small on me) and have an elastic and plastic thing in one of the leg pockets which can be uncomfortable at times.

So I ordered a size up from my regular size of 7/8 as other reviews for the 11' splash by this same brand suggested - and they are perfect - not tight anywhere not in the slightest. They are cute and light and I can move freely in these. I'm 5'6" and these are longer on me than the model. I roll them twice - they look rad.

Great shorts comfortable, wash up nicely. They run a little big so may want to order 1 size smaller.

Fabric and detailing in this short is first rate -- real quality and great design. Unfortunately, at 5'6" and 149 lbs I'm too broad in the beam to fit a size 10. Shorts look good, but I can't sit down in them.

I have 2 other pairs of Kuhl shorts (Bermuda style) and I love the stretch and coverage they provide. This pair has 3" less inseam, but still keeps my thighs covered, comfortable. Tend to ride up a bit in the front. I am 5'10", 185#, I have worn a size 14 in other brands, size 14 in this brand fits me well. I will see how these shorts fare...my other ones from Kuhl have pilling in the crotch from the fabric rubbing together.

I am between 2 sizes and based on previous reviews I ordered the larger size. They barely fit my waist, I might have been able to wear them and be comfortable especially if they stretched a little and would have probably kept them but the leg openings were huge, they looked like a skirt on me so back they go.
