These are comfortable and good tight fitting shorts but they are NOT true compression shorts. I was very hopeful to find a compression short under $50 but there is no compression webbing or support in these which true compression shorts provide. I won't send them back and wear them for some workouts but if you are buying them as a compression short, i.e. if you are a runner and want true compression this is not labeled correctly.

Tiny! My 12 year old was going to use the XS for volleyball but way too tight. She is 5'3", 84lbs.

If you are uncomfortable with the length of the Under Armour Shorty shorts these might be a better fit. They have a slimming effect on the thighs. However they remind me of cyclist shorts and I prefer shorter shorts like Lululemon's boogie shorts or the Under Armour Shorty. They are well made, flattering in the tummy area as well and not sheer, provided you choose the appropriate size.
I'd also recommend:

The legs on these shorts seem as if they will stay put when I'm training (cross fit and HITT training), but I have concerns that the waist will slide because they are low waisted which doesn't leave a lot of room for movement...only time will tell and I haven't tested them yet. I also wish the fabric was a little thicker. I recently bought some LUCY shorts and I like the material better, they're a little bit longer, and the waist on those is higher so I'm thinking those will stay up better.
I'd also recommend:
LUCY for women...not sure for men

They run small so I needed to order one size up. (5'5", 123 lbs. and the small was way too tight.) However, they aren't sheer, I love the length - short yet flattering to the thighs, and my favorite part: they fit great around the waist and don't cause muffin top. I also have the Under Armor in capri length and those are awesome as well.
I'd also recommend:

Ok, so here is my little secret...I wear these daily under my uniform as underwear, not shorts. I can't stand thongs in uniform and I hate panty lines but what's a girl to do? I was worried these would roll up on my thighs or roll down on my tummy but they don't and the waist line doesn't dig into my hips with a gun belt on. I bought an XL and they fit perfect...I'm 5'10" 195lbs, muscular built with a slight layer of "insulation"...ok ok so the outter inch of me is padded, there ya have it! These shorts make the perfect underwear for me, my compression shirt tucks in nicely and my uniform shirt slides right over these AND, there's a gusseted cotton crotch for your sensitive girly parts. A few other reviewers made a comment on the stitching and it's true, BUYER BEWARE: if you are buying these as shorts, you will chaff your inner thighs if you're not built like a Lego (aka big thigh gap). I feel the stitching everyday before I put my uniform pants on, however once the pants are on, of course the stitching is covered. The best way to describe it is monofilament fishing line, it's definitely not gonna come unstitched anytime soon and I think I could unravel it and use it as repelling rope which is great and all but if I were jogging in these shorts I'd probably bleed after the first mile...UA, why not use a softer thread or why such visible stitching? Again, I stress this isn't a problem for me (cuz you wouldn't catch me dead out in public in skin tights shorts) so these are the best ever "Tactical underwear" I could ever ask for. Oh yea, one more thing...the designer has to be a female cuz there's NO SEAM going right up the front! I love that there's no "fork in the road" caused by a jagged seam that tries to cut me in half, thank you UA for putting some thought into that one! PS: I bought 6 pairs for work and I'm buying 4 more for my gym attire.

These are amazing. I wear them al the time, by themselves and under other workout clothes. They are thick enough that they are never see-through, yet thin enough to be cool and light. They stay put and never create a weggie. Unlike other similar shorts, I don't have to constantly pull them down. The best part is that these are the only quality compression shorts I have found that do not have a seam down the center of the front. This makes them super comfortable and look great never giving away details to the world. I love these so much, please restock medium black and continue making these forever.

Please never get rid of these shorts! They are the most flattering (don't cut into love handles) and most comfortable (doesn't give you camel toe) shorts on the market! All women's compression shorts should NOT have a seam up the front to avoid this issue, and these are the only shorts I've found that don't have the front seam. I wear the 4" for HIIT workouts and the 7" for running to prevent chub rub. Please keep making these! Also, if you're looking for sizing, I wear a Medium and am about 145 lbs with a 39" butt, 28" waist, and 23" thighs.

I loved these shorts. It is a compression shorts but not too tight. Unfortunately 4in inseam is too short for me to workout in. Other than that I would of kept them. I loved that there was no camel toe due to no seam in the front. If you’re ok with a shorter length shorts then I would recommend this one. For reference...I’m 5’7,athletic built,153lbs. I ordered a M and the fit was good.

Great shorts! I am 5'7" and weigh 150, wore them to crossfit and they stayed put through burpees- a major win! Minimal creeping up and comfortable.

These are great for under clothes. I try to order my size just a touch big because I don't like the line it leaves across my thigh if it's too tight. Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

I am 5'5" 100 pounds and a small fits almost snug, but to me just right. These do run a little small as they say I should wear an extra small. Other than that I LOVE these shorts. It is a good, heavy duty material that won't run or tear easily like some other compression shorts. These are great!!!!!

These are lightweight enough to be cool & have the optimal amount of compression I would go down a size next time to my usual small excellent shorts all round

I own several of UA compression shorts. I have really long legs, a "well-rounded" backside, and a small waist. My goal was to find a pair of shorts that were modest enough for comfort and maintained their length while working out (i.e not riding up) and that fit both my waist and backside. Other UA compression shorts fit my backside but were too large in the waist, causing it to ride up, thus a lost of modesty. These however fit PERFECTLY and the 4" were a perfect length. Please please please explore making more of these 4" compression shorts in the same variety you guys make your too short 3" compression shorts. Us long-legged "well-rounded" women would love you for it!

These compressions are awesome. I lift and run during my training sessions so I needed something to accommodate both. They don't ride up when I run or squat, but aren't so tight that it is uncomfortable. They've been through countless washes and the color and material holds very well. I just wish there were more colors!

I've had a pair of UA shorts for years and finally have invested in a new pair, and I'm not disappointed at all! The quality and performance is exactly the same as my old pair, and give me that great feel that I wanted, but the extra wide waist band is a great feature. I really like how it sits on my hips. I wore these under running shorts and under a wetsuit for surfing, and had no problems whatsoever. I'll be expecting to wear these for a long time.

I bought these shorts to wear at the gym. I do interval/endurance training so I move around a lot. These shorts are fitted nicely. I was worried that they would be too tight but they are perfect. They are light weight and so soft! They do not ride up when I run or sprint. I absolutely love these shorts. I need them in every color.

I really like the UA Authentic 7" Compression Shorts so I thought I might like these as well and I do! They are great! Not too short and not too long. They stay in place. Order a size up from what you typically wear in shorts. I usually wear a "M" for shorts so I ordered a "L" for compression and they fit perfect. I love the wide band at the top.

I ordered these shorts as a base layer for my loose running shorts. I could not love them more! They stayed in place ALL day (through jogging, biking, and pilates) and did not ride up at all!! I definitely recommend them!

These are the first pair of compression shorts I've tried that aren't see-through! The material is thick enough that I feel comfortable wearing full underwear (vs. thong). I never have to worry when I'm running. They are super comfortable and truly do feel like a "second skin". My one complaint is that my shorts don't have a pocket as shown.

Love, love this product very tight on my legs and they do not roll up like some tights tend to do. I would recommend to others and my friends.
