I love these shorts. Great color, great fit. I am 6'6" and they fall just above the knee. I think they run true to size, if anything the waist may stretch a bit when wet so I went with one size down. The pocket is large and fits an iPhone 6 in a lifeproof case with no issue.

Of all the boardshorts I own, the stretch wavefarer are by far my favorites. I wear them to the gym, hiking, surfing and paddle boarding. Comfortable fit (not too tight or too baggy) with a little stretch and Patagonia's durability make it worth the price.

These are great board shorts! They are very comfortable, lightweight, and quick-drying. In addition, the quality is at a high level one would expect from Patagonia.

Very soft, comfortable quality. They dry quickly. True to size, fit very well. The legs are not too wide. Very cool looking. The SPF factor was also important.

These fit well - not too loose or tight around the butt, not overly baggy at the knees, and the stretch fabric provides a little give, but no too much. The zipper pocket is large enough to cram a phone and wallet into, but it's not meant to hold that much. The fabric weight is perfect - by comparison the Patagonia "light and variable board shorts" were basically silk (too light) and the the "minimalist wavefarer short" felt like a plastic/canvas hybrid (too stiff/heavy). The price is a bit steep, but I'll pay for quality. A similar pair lasted almost 10 years before I lost them.

Ordered these for my son. Great shorts, but no mesh liner. Fine if you don't want one, but if you want a mesh liner try something else. Disappointed because otherwise these were great.
