I bought these boots as a Christmas present for my daughter. They are very heavy and sturdy. They are a bit loose in the ankle area, but as mentioned in other reviews, I think that is so that you can get them on and off, as they do not open up at all. Knowing from previous Uggs purchases that this brand runs about a size large, I ordered her a full shoe size smaller and they fit perfectly. They are not meant for snow, although they do have a layer of lambs wool in the bottom, so they are cold if worn in snowy weather. They are definately a substantial "wellie".

I love the style of these boots and they are comfortable for rain boots. The only complaint that I have is that the shaft is a bit too long for people who are shorter. I purchased a size 5 and I'm 5 feet 2 inches tall. If you have small feet, you are typically shorter. This boot would have been even better if Ugg had taken that into consideration. The back of the boot hits behind the knee when I walk which causes some discomfort. Also, because of the long shaft, driving with them on is a bit awkward and uncomfortable. They would have been perfect if they were made just an inch shorter for the smaller shoe sizes.

I love my Uggs. They fit perfect and I'm short. They don't stick me in the back of my leg as some if the other reviews have said...I love them also because no one has rain boots like these that I've seen.

Comfy and not too stiff. I absolutely love the lamb's wool lining, gives it a softer cushion. I wear mine with socks because the lining is still heaving plastic, I didn't want my skin to rub against it. I've gotten so many compliments on these! I've been eyeing these boots and got them as soon as I found them on sale. It does rain much here in Southern CA but I got them anyway b/c they were just too cute with the buckles and laces, unlike the traditional rain boots.

I love these boots. They look great with leggings or skinny jeans. They are made of high quality rubber. Extremely sturdy. I do agree with another customer that they do hurt the top of your foot when you walk down stairs, but they are worth it. They also come with a removable lambs wool foot liner which is great for the cold weather.

Awesome! I love these boots! I wear an 8.5 and purchased the size 8 boot. They fit me perfectly. They are waterproof, warm and very comfortable. My heel does slide a bit and I may put a heel cup in the boot as I have some problems with my feet but it didn't bother me. Very cute boot and fun to wear. I haven't had a pair of rainboots since I was a kid and I was happily splashing through puddles yesterday. Love that it has the wool Ugg insole. These are well made and worth every penny I paid for them. Yea! Oh, and I have a narrowish foot and these were great for me. If you have a very wide foot, these might not be the best boot for you.

I have been looking for decent rain boots for a long time, I've tried them all from cheap ones to expensive ones and they all seemed to be way too heavy and clunky no matter the price. When I purchased these I was a little skeptical but being a huge UGG fan I went ahead and bought them, so glad I did! They are really comfortable, they do have a bit of extra room where your ankle sits but I think that's just so you can get your foot into the boot. I haven't worn them in the snow yet so I cannot say they will keep your feet warm but they definitely will keep your feet dry, I'm really happy with them. DON'T THINK! JUST BUY!

Love these boots! As always with UGG, very comfy. My only complaint is there seems to be too much room around the ankles but it's no big deal to me. I recommend these. :)

Hate that I paid full price for these. Great boots. Unique rain boot. Get compliments each time I wear them. Not great when I comes to warmth though.

I've been looking for a pair of casual, comfortable and durable rain boots. These boots are comfortable on the soles of my feet and warm. The only problem with these boots is where the laces meet it sometimes hurts to walk upstairs. Kind of difficult to explain, but not enough to return the boots. Overall a good find, but not the perfect rain boot, so that's the reason for the 3-4 star range.

I really love the look of these boots, they are super cute. But they definitely do not have a 16.5 shaft circumference at the top. My calfs are 15.5 circumference with socks on and these boots will not go on with them on, let alone with pants, pantyhose or anything for that matter. And they are super tight so they don't breathe at all. I bought the Hunter wellie socks to wear with them and that is never going to happen since those socks are thick fleece. On top of the calves being too tight, the ankle area is really loose, so when I walk the rubber bends around my ankles and is slightly uncomfortable. Also when I took them out of the box when I received them, a few screws fell out of the box. I had to track the screws down and screw them back into the boots where they had fallen out. A little epoxy on the manufacturers side would have gone a long way with keeping the screws in place. I haven't worn them yet and it's been two months, so I'm not sure if this was a worthwhile purchase in the end.

I would have given the shoe a 5, but the buttons that hook the strap onto the shoe unscrewed themselves off after about two wears. I'm living in Ireland for ten weeks and can't even wear them because the strap doesn't stay on and flaps around. I need to stop and try to rehook the strap on the remaining bit about every 20 steps. It's extremely frustrating!

After reading the reviews, I decided to go ahead and purchase these boots. I measured my calves prior to purchasing, to make sure that they would fit, and when the boots arrived, they were so tight around my calves that it is a no-go. I felt that the boots were actually smaller in circumference than 16.5 inches, as my calves measured in at 15.5 inches. I would not recommend getting these boots if your calves are 15.5 inches.

Too tight around calves. I have 16" calves with leggings and these I could barely get on. Not as cute as I thought they would be either. If they fit, however, I would have probably kept them anyway.

These great looking rainboots only come in half sizes. Wearing an 8.5, I sized up to a 9, but they were just too large/wide. The footbed is long and to make matters worse, the footbed is quite wide. Also, the material around the ankle was way too much. When I walked in them, the rubber bent funny and made strange noises. I felt like I was swimming upstream without any support for my feet or ankles. Thank goodness for free return shipping! If you have narrow feet, skinny ankles, or narrow calves (anything under 15"), avoid these boots.

I got these as a gift from my husband. I love them. The only problem I have is that most boots don't fit me because of my fat calves. I was able to get these boots on but with difficulty. Even by unlacing them, I still had a hard time. Once I got them on, I was not able to walk in them. It felt like there was such a tightness at the top of my legs that they started to hurt. Also there is extra room in the ankle area but not complain about it. Just an FYI. Overall I would say comfort wise for normal legs is great but for anyone with fat legs, not so great.

I purchased these last year as a gift for my daughter in the UK. Finally, she has told me that they have disintegrated! My decision to buy was for quality and I thought durability with a touch of design originality. Sadly, they have not proved worthy of my faith! Very disappointed and would not recommend them if you are seriously wanting rain boots to be worn in the rain!

I LOVED these boots. My husband bought them for me for Christmas. I opened the box, put them on, and immediately (before I stepped foot outside), one of the metal pieces that held the laces broke off in my hand. No big deal. I returned them to Zappos and got another pair. A few weeks later, the screws started falling out of the side buckle! I was walking around with screws in the bottom of my shoe wondering where they came from. Two different pairs of shoes falling apart in two different places. This is not a coincidence! I was extremely disappointed since I thought UGGs were generally very well made. I LOVE the style of these, but the quality is horrible.
