After reading the other reviews, I ordered the 8M, a half-size more than what I usually wear, and the shoe felt like an 8. My foot was loose and the shoe did not stay on. The style was really cute and could easily go from day to night, jeans to dresses. And although the shoe felt too big, it was comfortable. The first strap was a little flimsy. There is an elastic band attached to the first strap only. This gives the strap some stretch, but it also makes it a bit less sturdy than the other straps. I have weak ankles and need straps around my feet to be secure. If the strap was more secure, I would probably order a smaller size.

While these shoes are are very cute, they are not all that comfortable. Plus, the inside is "slippery" so even the first day of wear my feet were sliding forward over the shoe. Good to stand or sit in not so great for walking.

In closed toe shoes, I am a size 5M, but in open toes I need a half or full size smaller. Athena is one of the few companies that make size 4. It has always been my go to brand. I bought 4M. The shoe length is true to size, however the straps across the arch are too long in these shoes which makes them too wide. It seems to be a trend for Athena. This is the second pair (different styles) that I have had to return due to straps being too long across the top of the foot. I own numerous pairs of Athena shoes and have never had this problem until these past two years. I wonder if a generic strap length is used now regardless of shoe size to cut costs? That is disappointing as I loved the styles but am no longer confident of their fit.

The stitching is very sharp and rubs my inner arch. I will not be able to wear them. I purchased them in brown/bronze and loved the look but the comfort and fit is not working unfortunately. I have different pair of Athena brand sandals that I love so will definitely try this brand another time.

I have bought this shoe in this color for over 5 years and never had a problem until NOW. I wear them a maximum of 2 days only in my home. Recent purchase of 5 lasted lasted less than 2 months. Have donated 4 to Goodwill and will try and return the last pair. Important to note: They are now using a small piece of elastic that is attached on the back strap and it wears out within a month. They have changed the manufacturing - it used to be leather that was used for every strap and all were reinforced. If you decide to proceed and buy anyway, good luck.
