They look snazzy and feel good. Buyer be warned that this is not your regular running shoe and will stretch your calf muscles differently from your other running shoes. My only complaint is that I do hybrid road/trail runs, and they don't work as well on the trails as I had hoped.

Order up 1/2 size for fit. Need to use custom insert for adequate arch support. Good news Newton shoes completely address my metatarsal issues! I've tried both "Gravity" and "Distance" and I like the "Motion" the best. There's more room in the toe box compared to others at the same size.

A really comfortable lightweight runner. The upper mesh has a really nice snug feel when properly laced up. Both the heel and ball of the foot seem particularly well supported and cushioned. The only caution I might put out there is the overall look and support has so narrowed the gap between Hussein Bolt and me that at 60 years old it might be a bit humiliating for him in Rio come 16.

I wanted to wait until I had a few weeks of runs under me belt.. I must say, I was warned by one person that the newton's ruined her knees, but she must have done it wrong. They do suggest a warm up run of 1 mile, but I opted for 2 and had no issues. They are meant to help your form. So, along with the shoe, I decided to upgrade my Iphone app to also measure my stride/cadence. I was taking way too big strides (120 steps per minute) and have since quickly moved to 170 cadence . That and the newton's have made my running incredible. Both the shoe and the shorter strides/faster cadence have helped my form and each run showed a marked improvement in time and/or distance. I will def stay with newtons and they just feel great out of the box and fit true to size perfectly!

My first pair of of natural or zero drop running shoes. I love them. When I first began running many many years ago I ran in Keds that were in no way running shoes. I was fine. When I finally had real running shoes that is when I had problems. As shoes improved my problems went away. These shoes are light and comfortable. I had very little break-in. They may not be for everyone but everyone should at least try them. I hate the colors but people do comment on them favorably. I think they are too expensive but this was last year's model and at half price. I was very pleased to find them.

I heard good things about these shoes and decided to give them a try. As other reviews note they take a little getting used to but promote good running form. First time trying them out I set a PR in a half marathon. Very happy with these, I'm a convert.

I've always been an Asics Nimbus wearer, but felt it was a lot of shoe. These are fantastic - never going back to Asics. I was worried they would take a long time to get used to, but I never wanted to stop running! I wear an women's 8 wide and a men's 7 (reg is wide in men's) is perfect.

Gamer Changers. Not the latest and greatest but definitely better than most. I'm a former brick wearer who needed orthotics and super support soles but nay no more I've developed crucial muscles that enables me to wear these cutting edge, lightweight, colorful, cushion heaven shoes.

I bought these shoes after having shin splints. I will say I felt I could run further and longer. My stride could be narrow or wide and I did not struggle with the shin splint injury. I did not feel any type of shin splints when I used these shoes. I use to run with Nikes all the time but from now on I am TeamNewton. I like the additional support on the front of the toes and being sprinter this helped a lot. I run on my toes and the additional support was weird at first but very functional. I recommend these shoes to anyone who has shin splints and who are serious about going the distance with running. I also do p90x in these shoes to get the feeling to a somewhat normal or reminder to my body that when I put these shoes on it is time to workout. So far so good. The shoe is light as a feather. I live in Kuwait and there are not many running trails but running at the park in Egaila is where I go to run and the route is pretty bad but you would not be able to tell with these shoes on. Thank you, Newton, seriously.

Took my first run the shoes this evening and they felt wonderful. No pain or tiredness in my feet after the run but my calves are feeling difference in my first run forefoot strike form. The lugs help you land softly and propel you forward. The key for me was shortening my stride and keeping my body leaning forward. These are instantly my favorite shoes!

I've been a heel striker for years and have suffered from shin splints due to my level of pronation. I gave these a shot to see if they could help improve my form. So far, so good!

This is the best running shoe I have ever used. I'm an avid runner and have used Asics, Nikes, Vibrams...pretty much everything under the sun. The fact remains that if anyone knows anything about running shoes, each person's foot is different and needs a different shoe. If you're someone that needs a moderate amount of support and structure (I cannot use free runners or minimal shoes) in your shoe and generally runs parallel to ground (not pigeon toed or running on the outside of your sole), these shoes are a God-send. They have a raised middle portion of the sole that takes a little bit of time to get used to (About a week and a half), but once you get the feeling down, you're forever converted. It almost feels like a mini-trampoline that greatly reduces your effort and pain of striking the ground. Newton is really changing running for the better with their designs.

I ran my first half marathon in my 2009 Brooks Beast two weeks ago. My running partner ran in Newtons. I got these to train for my first Marathon in a few months. Two weeks in and I feel like my muscles have adjusted to the shoes (following the recommended break-in runs of short 1-3 mile distances at first). I felt the change mostly in my calf muscles. I just ran 6 miles in them and I feel like I can run longer and farther in Newtons than my old style "traditional" shoes.

A five star shoe all the way...lightweight, a moderate natural feeling stability, and accepts my full length orthotics with no trouble. Glad the Zappos is finally carrying Newtons...they are treasures...

I think the Newton Gravity S is a great shoe. It does take a few weeks for you muscles to adjust but after that they are great.

I was so excited to get the Newtons until I ran in them the next day. I now am healing from severe Plantar Fascitis and I haven't even been able to run in them again. I realize the company suggests adapting to them slowly, but foot soreness and calf tightness is one thing, not being able to walk without my heel feeling like it was pounded by a hammer is another. I have hardly been able to train since I bought them 6 weeks ago. I even exchanged the Gravity model for these and still no improvement. Very disappointed!!
