Even though I had never spent this much on any shoes, I decided to give these a try--I tried these on when I got them, wore them around home and was very pleased with the feel of them on. I never had an occasion to wear them until Sun., Nov. 18, 2012. That morning my 34 yr. old son started complaining of a severe headache in the back of his head. He was pale, but just kept getting paler and paler. He was not quite as alert as when I had first gotten up and his blood pressure was 236/163 at this time. We called the ambulance and they took him to a local ER. He had a CAT scan and then we were told that he had suffered a bleeding stroke. The decision was quickly made by the Drs. that he needed to be life flighted to a larger hospital in St. Louis, MO, for further treatment. After that we rushed home to throw some things in a suitcase and drive to that hospital.
I made the decision to wear my new Finn Comfort shoes--even though I had never worn them for an extended period. I took no other shoes. I wore these shoes for 40 hrs. before being able to take them off! I could not have done that with any other new pairs of shoes I've ever had before and still have had my feet in good condition. I wore them every day to go to the hospital where there was a lot of walking involved and I'm still amazed at how comfortable they were. Now that my son is in a local Rehab Hospital, they are still the only pair of shoes I'm wearing.
It might seem like a lot to spend on a pair of shoes; but stop and think about the comfort and condition of your feet. I have not regretted spending any of that money on my feet. Give them a try--I think you'll agree!
Just a little extra note regarding my son--he had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm deep in the brain. Only 1-7% of all strokes are caused by a SAH and there is a death rate of 50%--so we received a Christmas miracle. So tonight, after you have ordered these shoes and you are all comfy in bed, please offer a word of prayer for Jeremy as he continues in the Rehab phase.
Thanks

Yes, they're worth it. These felt a little odd at first, the footbeds felt very "spongy." I almost returned them, but decided I would stick it out. Holy cow am I glad I did, they've molded to my feet. A bit of a break-in period, but they feel great and look perfect. Just dressy enough for my job, but look kind of like hiking boots too. Extreme high quality, totally worth it.

Very disappointed. I ordered two sizes of this shoe in hopes of finding the perfect shoe for a trip to Europe. Overall the shoe is made very well and the thought that went into it is great, except one thing. The problem is the insole has what can only be described as a lump centered a few inches above the arch, but still below the ball of the foot. It is very uncomfortably placed and it ruins the shoe. At this price point I'm not willing to remove the insole and ad an after market insole. I believe that would defeat the point of paying this much. If you need this odd misplaced support, maybe this shoe is for you. I really wanted to like this shoe.

These shoes are terrific. They are comfortable right of the box. Thankful they are waterproof as I spend time walking the dogs in wet grass. They are a little heavier than my other Finn walking shoes, but not like the weight of a hiking boot. I have a long history of foot and back problems, but with the Finn Comfort style, I am able to not wear my orthotics any more. I love them!

Based on positive reviews, I decided to buy these shoes. Unfortunately, they are too narrow for my feet. Thought since the style is marketed to men also, it would be wider. Shoes are well-made & beautifully designed, with nice color and it is so disappointing to have to return them. Planning a trip soon and have no comfortable walking shoes to wear.

I like Finn Comfort the best, when they fit; have several summer (looser) styles which are wonderful.

Do not buy! 6 months in -- two sprained ankles. I haven't had sprained ankles in over 10 years, but I sprained both my ankles in these shoes. The balance is off in the rubber bottom. I walk a lot in the city. I have better than average balance (if yoga class is any indication). The wear in the tread was normal for me, but basically, once the tread was worn these shoes got unbalanced very quickly. (I walked onto two irregular sidewalks once tread was worn, and with these shoes I could not regain balance and as I said I walk A LOT in the city, and am good at balance.) It's been really disappointing because recovery has been slow. (They were bad sprains.) I like Finn Comfort -- but I've always worn ones with very little tread/bottom (not thick like these). Do not buy! I cannot recommend.

Extremely comfortable hiking shoes -- enough to make a couch potato want to hike. I don't want to take them off.
Great price, even though still very expensive. I was delighted to see them on sale.
Zappos, you should know that these have the soft insides, not the firmer ones. Much more comfortable, IMO.

Seem comfortable and well built with quality materials, but it was too tight for me to evaluate better.

The shoe is very comfortable out of the box, a good waking shoe. I purchased Finn Comfort sandals two years ago only to watch them stretch thus requiring socks - a fashion no no. This Murnau pair wraps and holds my foot well.

Like these a lot, returned for smaller size than usually take in Finn Comfort. Felt good right away. Hope the other size will last forever to be worth the price. Other Finn shoe, a sandal is great. Both accommodate prescription orthotics.

Finn Comfort shoes are the most comfortable I've ever worn. I've got neuropathy in my feet and have searched far and wide for shoes that allow me to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time or which allow me to hike and walk for the better part of the day. These fill the bill. Excellent craftsmanship.

Pulled these out of the box and wore them intermittently for about 10 hours prior to packing them for a walking/climbing-intense two-week trip. We probably averaged about seven miles a day, through rain, desert, rocky mountain, cobblestone, and beach sand terrains. My feet were very happy. I'm going to agree with a prior reviewer; hands down, they are clearly worth the money if you value your feet. Enough said.

Best shoes I have EVER had. These are sturdy and so well made. The cork insole/footbed molds to your foot. Worth every penny. I shall have them forever.

This shoe was not at all narrow, so skip it if you have narrow feet. The arch support is awkward (i.e. different), but I would certainly have tried to wear the shoe longer if my foot wasn't so loose inside it. The shoe is wonderfully constructed, and I think it could be a great walking or hiking shoe. Also, my family remarked that it looked like a shoe for a man, not a woman! Back it goes to Zappos.

Embarrassed to have paid this much for a pair of shoes that didn't work out, and probably have worn them around the house too much to return, in a futile attempt to get them to fit properly. Foot bed is perfect size, lump on insole goes away after wearing for awhile because it's made of cork and molds to the foot. Shoe is heavy but looks nice & very well made. The major problem I have is that I can't get the tongue to quit rubbing on my instep or feeling too tight against the instep, to the point of creating hot spots with great discomfort on top of both feet. Can't seem to adjust the laces or tongue in any way to make them comfortable enough to wear. The tongue is quite large & folded in a peculiar way. Also, upon reading the instructions, the cork insole is supposed to be removed every day (!) after wearing, and replaced once a month (!). Way too high maintenance for me......

This shoe has great support. I'm disappointed to report, after only three months the waterproof barrier has broken down. Zappos customer service is the best, offering replacement or refund!

I bought these shoes because I had worn a pair of their sandals (Gomera - 82562) which were extremely comfortable. I needed something to wear during the winter. I have problem feet. I have screws in my feet so I knew Finn Comfort was going to make my feet not hurt. When I put these shoes on, the tongue design (all one piece sewn in to the sides) caused a bunching of leather to push in on the screws in my feet causing really just unbearable pain. I don't understand the tongue design. Instead of an independent tongue piece, it's all one piece with extra leather that bunches up underneath. So if you have any feet problems like hardware in your feet, that bunching of leather is going to aggravate the hardware. I had to return these shoes sadly. They felt like a dream on my other foot that has no hardware. I'm really sad about it because I know they would have been wonderful had it not been for that leather bunching.
