Love these socks. Got them for a September trip to the Oregon coast, where the weather can be cold & windy one minute, cool & rainy or warm and sunny the next; these were great in all those kinds of weather. No sweaty feet when it was warm out, and no freezing toes in the cold. These socks have a soft feel, giving great cushioning and ideal insulation; the Thorlos Combat Boot are now my go-to socks, slowly and steadily replacing all others. (I especially like the way they provide metatarsal cushioning for my older, less well-padded feet!) I'm careful to wash them by themselves on the gentle cycle, to help reduce pilling.

(In a buttery, plush voice) These are goooooood socks! I didn’t know that socks could feel so good until I tried Thorlos. I only gave these 4 stars because they are not my favorite Thorlos. Great, thick cushioning in all the right places— especially if you have Achilles problems or need to wear any type of boot (motorcycle to walking boot) or brace over your sock. Not a compression sock like I thought, but still worth keeping.

I am really discontent after 3 months of use. 2 out of three pairs developed holes in them that I have to throw away. It was fine while it lasted but didn't last long enough to worth the money.
