Being a Forester for 30 years, it goes without saying that I have put a lot of miles on my boots in the woods. For the last 8 years, I have looked for and found very few boots that meet my comfort and support requirements now that I'm not a Young Buck any more. As soon as I would find a pair, the manufacture changes the style along with the comfort or the store stops carrying them. My feet and I have never been worried about style. These boots are among the best I have ever owned! I wear them 7 days a week in the woods, at home, and on my farm. On average a boot lasts me 9 months before they give out. My first pair of these lasted one year (with some TLC). Others were comfortable, but always required an added arch support to keep my feet happy. These don't! They also don't have a deep tread on the soul so tracking dirt & mud is much less of a problem. My local shoe store stopped carrying them so started looking on line. Found only two pairs (in stock)at two different suppliers in my size. Way to go Zappos and PLEASE keep making these boots Irish Setter! My feet and I thank you!

I ordered a pair of these boots a week before flying out to Montana for a 10 day upland hunt and had no time to break them in. Out of the box they are extremely comfortable and I would say probable do not need to be broken in, as many similar boots do. This is the second pair of Irish Setters boots I have worn upland hunting and I can't say enough about them. They are a great boot and I have a feeling they should last me for awhile.

The boot was a little tough to get my foot into the bottom part of it but once it breaks in Im sure it will be fine. Thank you Zappos for having what I would say as the fastest delivery of any on line shopping store that I've ever dealt with (without paying extra delivery charges).Every time I order the item is there the next day or at the latest the second day.

First of all, a disclaimer - I am writing this review on behalf of my husband. That being said, these are lovely boots. Think country lodge versus construction site. I was surprised at the quality of the leather - rich, smooth and supple. They are very light weight with a flexible sole and an amazingly cushy footbed. His 11½ felt so good on my size 8 feet that I had to check to see if they made them for women. They do not. My husband has a slightly high arch, a narrow heel and a wide forefoot. They fit!

Ex-carpenter turned doctor. It's hard to find "manly" footwear suitable for office work. These boots not only fit the bill, but they're the most comfortable boots I've worn including Ecco, Lowa, Timberland Pro, etc. I've been wearing my current pair for at least 3 years now and bought an extra pair in case they're discontinued. They resist scuffing surprisingly well and, With a monthly brushing, still look new. I don't know how you dudes can wake up and dress yourselves in slacks, little footy dress shoes, and a neck tie. As far as nice/real pants (as opposed to thin, silky, sissy slacks) I also recommend Kuhl Ryders and Exile Cords available at Zappos. To avoid the "blouse effect," try Cinch or Lariat men's button down shirts. I can actually walk around the hospital dressed like a man without feeling dainty.

I bought these one year ago and these are the best setter's I've had yet. Super fit right from the start with no break in. Feet always warm and dry too! Very light for this type of boot. I work for ups and have had many brands of boots and with my job I will know quickly what works and what doesn't? These are a high quality boot.

Quality boots, sizing is right on, very comfortable from day 1. Flexible sole is very nice as I wear these on long walks in the city, as good on asphalt as grass. Would highly recommend these boots.

Wow! These are killer boots. I was a carpenter until I broke my back. Now, I work as a doctor. I hate office clothes. Dress shoes, slacks, dress shirts, etc...make me feel girly...really girly. It's taken me a while to find suitable office jeans (see Kuhl Rydr), and these boots are the perfect complement. They look dressy, but they're 100% manly boots. Stop dressing like a sissy man, and get these boots!

These were a gift for my grandson. He absolutely loves them. The size was spot on and he says they're comfortable and do the job keeping weather and cold out. They're very handsome looking.

Purchased these boots for pheasant hunting and they are without doubt the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. No break-in required. Ready to wear right out of the box. So far in wet grass and snow my feet have remained dry. Hopefully they will last for years in the field.

Great boot. First time I wore it it felt like a well broken in hunting boot. Good traction in wet woods with great ankle support.

I work in residetial construction and I have been having alot of problems with my foot. I bought these boots because there was so many positive reviews on the comfort. And they are very comfortable straight out the box. First day wearing them to work was today and I am still pleased.

I am a hunter, I spent most of my time in the mountains. The boots were ready to go out of the box. No issues with fit or support. The soles are not aggressive enough to hold in moderately steep terrain and they are worse going down the slope. I could feel rocks and sticks through the sole. The one issue that I can not live with is they leaked after 20 uses. I can usually fix the issue with Sno Seal but after several attempts they still leak. I have had several better boots at 1/3 the cost.

These boots are supposed to be waterproof and they are not. The first pair I purchased leaked just from walking through wet grass! Zappos kindly replaced that pair of boots, but the second pair have started to leak too. Too bad Irish Setter no longer makes American made boots. I have an old pair of American made Irish Setters that don't leak to this day.

I purchased for my Husband, he said 'very uncomfortable' 'sole is dangerously slippery in his line of work. Works in construction, diesel mechanic.. Slippery on machinery...walking on shop floors.
