terrible fabric-impossible to wear and even to touch-feels like a piece of junk,sent it back for 8 dollars fee

I have been buying Benton springs for years. I have at least a dozen. I will not be buying any more. My latest purchase was the "updated" version in dark plum. This jacket is very uncomfortable, and a whole size smaller in the chest and upper arms. It is very tight under the arms and across the shoulders. The hip is the same same size, and makes for an odd shape. The fleece is very thin and poor quality. "Updating" was not a good idea, it ruined a wonderful product.

I ordered the colour Medieval for my friend. From the online store, Columbia's and the online store where I ordered it from, the colour appeared to be a dark blue. This is not at all the case, it is in fact a light blue and I would describe it as baby blue and not at all what I wanted! I ordered the medium as a gift for a friend as although she is slender built, she is wider in the hips and a medium is usually perfect. She struggled to close the zip as it fit too tight around her hips. I ordered the Clematis Blue for myself. The colour per online store is also misleading. On the websites it appears to be a purple blue, the reality is that there is no purple hue in it.

My daughter bought this jacket, wore it one season and the zipper broke. My co-workers have also had problems with zippers breaking in Columbia jackets. If I'd kept the receipt (which I normally do) I would have returned it to the store for a refund. I would not have exchanged it for another Columbia jacket. Instead I drove 20 mi. to the nearest fabric store and bought a replacement zipper -- a good quality zipper instead of the cheap plastic zipper that had broken -- and then I spent 45 min. sewing the new zipper into the jacket. I've learned from this experience to look at a garment's ZIPPER before purchasing it. If it's a cheap, plastic zipper -- no matter what the brand name -- I won't buy it.

Will be returning it

I thought the color discription was totally wrong. It was not Navy Blue it was more like marine blue. It was huge. So it cost me 2 postages to find this out.
