OK I put poor comfort only because Zappos suggested size (based upon me wearing a 7.5 Nike) was 7.5 in NB but ...nope! This shoe was too small even to get on my foot! I'm guessing it is a full size too small and I have no idea of the arch support. Right out of the box, though IMHO it is a way too wide goofy looking toe. I don't even want it to fit my foot. Kinda clownish. I like an all leather shoe and really wanted this shoe to work. Too bad there doesn't seem to be an all-white Nike version. Returning!

THESE SHOES I HAVE PURCHASED ARE FOR WALKING & EASY TO PUT ON. VELCO STRAPS ARE TOO SHORT AND CAN NOT
FASH PROPERTLY. OTHER SHOES PURCHASE HAD LONG STRAPS AND WHEN SHOES WERE BROKE IN, YOU COULD CUT STRAP
OFF TO FIT.

I have purchased this type of shoe for close to 15 years. Since then models have changed slitely but fit and comfort have stayed the same. However price has increase dramatically. There has been different promotions during that time but NONE in the last 4 years at least.

First walking shoe purchased & it doesn't seem to give the arch support of running shoes. New Balance usually are comfortable from the beginning. These feel like breaking in dress shoes.

I've been using the 577's for years but can't anymore. If the top lace hole is used, the way-too-short) tongue doesn't reach the crossover area and allows the upper lace to press into the top of the foot causing dangerous restriction of blood flow into the foot. The laces that came with my 577's were 56" long and when the second (hole from the top) was used, the laces could not be ties without hanging to the floor and dragging behind the walking shoe.
Bottom Line: Use the top hole and risk blood clots in the foot or use the next lower hole and risk of tripping on the overhanding tied laces and risking a fall.

These are probably the worst pair of New Balance I have ever had. The front of the tongue bites into my foot on every step. I cannot wear them after several times trying.

These New Balance MW577s (white) felt just a touch too small. Width was alright but the top of the shoe fit like my foot was busting out of it. Looked unsightly. I guess you could say the shoe was not tall enough? Sending them back for something else.

Not the same leather that used to be used on NB shoes. This is an unbreathing, ungiving pleather. The shoes stay hot inside and are very stiff. They remind me of a $16.96 pair of walking shoes you'd find at WalMart. Yes, they're that bad....

I gave these pups my patented "puddle test"... they got soaked. Would not recommend in puddles no matter how deep

I've been wearing New Balance SL-2 last shoes for 40 years at this location and this was my first (2 pairs of) 577's.
Sometimes I feel like I'm wearing ice skates because the soles , after only 6 months, have become positively dangerous. They slip on the wet rock walks and steps and Blue Stone paths around my property. This is very disappointing for my favorite walking shoe manufacturer. What happened?

I am a long-time NB customer. These shoes, unfortunately, fall short of the usual NB high quality. They have a flimsy construction, provided poor support, dug into my feet, and the loops are very short. I sent them back for a refund. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Usually every New Balance shoe I have ever purchased has been spot on. This time slightly narrow. I should have purchased wide.

bought ,shoe looked good. Outside of shoe leather split away from the sole. Contacted Zappos, explained the problem, .......... sent a new pair. Side split out on both shoes this time. I must have weird shaped foot. Purchased different brand from Zappos today..... patiently waiting for them to arrive. Hopefully they are as comfortable as NB. Thank You

Previous purchased hook and loop ran large and it was no longer offered, so decided on this version and purchased 1/2 size smaller and 1 size narrower, big mistake. This shoe runs smaller in length and width. If you normally wear a size 11 4E, you better order a 1/2 size larger and if possible one size wider.
It also rides high on your instep and heal causing discomfort. Hopefully it will break-in soon and be more comfortable.

This product (577 Black hook & loop shoes) are nowhere as good as previous shoes I have purchased from your company. First they are cheaply made, second your size and width do not meet previous sizes, the toe of the shoe is quite a bit narrower than previous shoes. I have been wearing New Balance shoes for more than 20 years. I am not sue if I will purchase again.

DO not order these shoes in large (10 or higher) size. I have a previous version of this same number and was excited to order two more pair. they have changed the straps to the point they leave about 2 inches of Velcro exposed. that is the certain way to ruin a good pair of pants. they have redesigned this shoe top and it should not be sold in larger sizes due to the short straps.

I'm reviewing 2 sizes of NB-MW77. I wear B-width, size 11. This pair of New Balance size 11-B was too short, but I liked the shoe quite a bit otherwise - it felt like a comfortable, stable aesthetically challenged work shoe, which was fine, just too short. So Zappos graciously exchanged the 11's for a pair of 11.5's, even though I had banged up the 11's a little during a week at work in the process of confirming to myself that they were indeed a bit too short. (Drat!) So the 11.5's come in the mail. They are long enough, and list size B-width on the tongue, but they're voluminous! It's as if the shoe engineers at NB decided that a foot that is half a size longer is also a full size or two thicker. Compared to the 11's, (which fit nicely except for being shorter than any other size 11 I've ever worn), the 11.5's look and feel like Clown shoes. I'm hereby putting New Balance on notice. I may have to splurge and switch to Brooks to find something that fits.

I bought these shoes in white for my husband. They fit well and are comfortable. The only complaint is that they are noisy when he walks. It sounds like parts of the shoes are rubbing against other parts. Squish, squish, squash. It is annoying after awhile. I had hoped the noise would go away after they had been worn for a while but no success.

Have purchased this item many times for my son, always good quality. This last pair is very cheaply made. Tongue on shoe is stitched with only a few stitches. Makes the tongue very unstable. I would much rather pay a little more money for better quality. Won't purchase again. This product is a real step down from the original.

I waited to write this review until I had worn the item for several months. My conclusion is that if you like going to the Chiropadist then this shoe is for you. The item fits properly until you walk in rain then the shoes shrink. When they dry out wearing them returns them to normal size. The soles do not maintain their original cushion feel and become thin. The result is the development of uncomfortable calluses on the bottom of your foot. The end result is discomfort and the search for a different product.

I ordered these a half size larger as suggested and they are still small. My left big toe touches the end. Maybe with wearing, they'll stretch a bit.

These shoes felt tight and made noise as I walk. I wear the White 577 lace version and they are fine.
