When the shoes arrived I tried them on and was disappointed that the hoop & loop flap did not go all the way across my foot. I have other brands of shoes that have the same type of closure and they go all the way across my instep to the other side of my foot. I believe the flap on your shoe should be 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer to allow for men who have a higher than normal instep. For the reason stated I returned the shoes to New Balance. Your return process was exceptional.

Velcro Strips too small. Top strap barely closes. Ordered size 14 but they are same size as old size 13 shoe i had. I need a size 13 1/2. Site said to order size larger since they run smaller.

Overall the shoe fits good, the only real problem is the strap on the shoe, it is to short and does not reach across the shoe.

The holy and loop straps should be a little longer. They barely reach on the wide shoe. The insole in one shoe came loose about the 10 time the shoe was used. The shoe is comfortable and supports my ankle nicely. It was recommended by the surgeon who performed my ankle fusion.

On the left shoe there's a ridge at a seam that pushes against the bone on the side of my foot. It is rather painful by end of day. That seam is fine on the right shoe.

L did not use them ,they are well made and look good but they fit more like a 61/2 C not a 7 D. If you have a high arch the hook and loop is to small they make them even tighter when they hooked At for looks and build F on fit and comfort that is why I returned them

This is my fourth pair of these shoes, and I must say that the quality has been denigrated. The velcro straps do not cover the entire velcro attachments. They used to cover the entire velcro attachments, but now, they are too short. They are easy to put on and take off, and they are comfortable, but I may have to seek the next pair from another retailer.

I love NB shoes. I am retired now and wore the sister product of this shoe in black with laces for 10+ years and they were great. This shoe unfortunately is just not comfortable. It chafes the top of my arch and the fit with the straps is just not comfortable ... the inside of the shoe just feels rough. Anyway .. I will always be an NB customer .. just not with this shoe.

Bought on price. Should have stuck with my tried and true 813 model. Not as comfortable and left shoe squeaks. Oh, well. I hope the squeak goes away and I'll be happy. Back to good old No. 813 next time. Happy with New Balance delivery and overall quality.

I ordered extra wide the fit is ok, but the straps only come up to half the front making the shoe look too small.

Nice looking shoe but loops were not long enough for a person with a high arch.

I purchase these walking shoes to replace my old ones that were worn out. The first thing I noticed is that the quality is nowhere near as good. The leather straps are much thinner I feel like they would break at any given moment. Because they are thinner it feels like the velcro won't hold as good as the old style. The shoes themselves fit comfortably. There seems to be something under the foot bedding that kind of pokes into the ball of your foot. Not real bad but as the shoes get worn more I don't know if that will be a problem or not. All in all I feel that new balance has had some very good shoes but unfortunately they seem to be skipping on materials nowadays. The same high price but with lower quality. Please don't get me wrong I would buy from them again because they carry sizes that most places don't and they are generally good shoes. I just think that they have went to skipping on quality to make a greater profit. I hope this trend does not continue because very few companies offer what they do. Would I purchase them again? Maybe, but I would check out the competition also. In my mind they aren't the solid company I had grown to trust.

I have a very wide foot narrow heel and high arch, the 9 4W ran tight in the toe box. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast and NB's return program is quick and simple. I wish finding shoes for my "duck" feet was as easy. I have had success over the years with NB.

Can't check the stars. Don't know which end is great vs bad. However the shoes are exactly what I ordered and wanted.

This is the second pair of velcro fastened shoes that I bought from New Balance. The first thing noticed was that the flaps going to the velcro are about 3/4 of an inch shorter than my first pair.

This is an unusual review --- I didn't like the way the shoes fit or looked on my feet, so I returned them.

Had to return did not fit and was uncomfortable. I was caught off guard because this is the first item that was not a perfect fit. I will still purchase NB products but stick with the product that I am used to.

These are the only shoes my elderly dad wears for running his errands. Normally they last several years. Thie last pair we bought lasted about 8-9 moths. The show seperated from the sole. So we had to order another pair.

Fit isn't the problem with off shore produced products like shoes. It is quality and longevity. I have yet to find a name brand training, walking, crossfire shoe that will hold the cheaply glued sole onto the uppers. I am trying this brand/model for the first time. We'll see. (BTW, consumer, this is what you get, when you go cheap no matter what.)
I'd also recommend:
Haven't found a durable brand yet.
