I have bought from new balance before. Had no problems. Just the same thing this time. Just the wright fit and looks good.

Wear them daily. Probably on my 6th or 7th pair. As a senior senior (80+) hook and loop easy to wear as getting down to do laces is very difficult. Missing 5th star only because heel slips. Slippage has been consistent with every new pair and no remedy suggested by NB. Otherwise, I highly recommend the 577 Hook and Loop.

They're my regular walking shoe. Very comfortable. Like 'em a lot. Cushy soles; high toe box to accommodate bone spurs on my big toes. Available in 2E to suit my fat feet. I've worn nothing but NB for decades; these for walking and the 990 series (w/ the tread ever so slightly ground down) for folk/contra dancing.
I've bought them so many times because my ankles are "turned over" and I wear the outside rear corner of my heel excessively, resulting in ankle pain. The soles being some sort of blown foam, any sort of heel repair has to be cut out and glued in. Here in the Seattle wet climate, no glue is ever good enough to hold up long term, and I wind up with the bottle of contact cement every 2-4 weeks. But this is my prob, not New Balance's.
I rated only 4 because for my feet, the ankle collars are too "fat" and impinge on my (low) ankle bones. As soon as I buy a pair I have to take 'em to the shoemaker to have the ankle collars slit open, stuffing removed, and then sewed/glued back. Adds about $20-22 to cost of each pair. The very best were the old NB 900's; cushy soled walking shoe but with minimal/no ankle collar. Wish NB would make those again, or the 700 series postman/policeman shoes.

I needed a good walking shoe that is easy to put on. These are easy for me to put on and take off plus being a very comfortable shoe.

I have bought these shoes before and as long as New Balance continues to make them, I will buy them again.

I don't write many product reviews, but I finally tried these sneakers and so far I'm very happy with them. I've avoided low tops for ages because I used to walk out of them due to my disability. I've worn high top sneakers exclusively for I don't know how long. I've been using elastic shoelaces, which are great, but when they eventually came untied and no one is around to re-tie them...they're not so great! The velcro option is really helping me, and since I don't walk as much anymore, walking out of them is not an issue. I'd love to see an all velcro option and some more color options, but really glad New Balance has this product and hope they keep it around.

These shoes are great because we remove our shoes when entering the house - velcro makes it easy.

These shoe are great for comfort and he only likes the hook and loop. I have found the soles come apart from the upper body with regular use very fast. They do get wet so maybe that is why. Just wish the glue was a little stronger.

I previously purchased the 877 version and had very good success with them. I purchased the 577 because i needed q black pair for work where the 877 only came in grey, all in all 577 just not as comfortable and my legs and feet feel tired after 7 days of wearing them. Will give them a few more days before i give up on them

Like always NB is a great product, however the hood and loop fasteners could be longer. The upper strap has a tendency to come undone at times because the length is too short.

This shoe is a great buy for the comfort and support you get with this shoe. However I wish the laces were a little longer. However I would definitely buy this shoe again just four the comfort alone. The style is classic and stylus too!

These are great shoes for everyday wear, and for walking. The only problem is that the bottom of the velcro straps squeak against the shoe tongue. Over the course of a day, it becomes really annoying.

There is nothing wrong with this shoe, it is just that I own others that seem to do the job better, all from New balance. I am constrained by narrow feet, so I have been slowly buying all the styles that come in narrow, This one is good, others have been better.

My son is Autistic and the velcro helps him to be independent when putting his shoes on. These sneakers also have the leather strap and not the spandex strap which always rips.

I love the shoes except for one flaw. The is too much extra material inside the shoe beyond where the tongue is sewed on. This actually hurt the top of my feet when first worn. By using large shoe horns, I was able to minimize this problem before wearing for extended periods of time.
I looked at style 813's in a NB outlet. They had way less excess tongue material inside. Unfortunately the did not come in bone color.

the velcro straps are about 1 inch too short....they barely reach the velcro after they go thru the loop....if i order the wide shoe it is too wide but the velcro will reach....
